Hoping for March 2021. Family of 5 (two teens and a 7 yo).

Where have stayed and loved:
1. AKL club level
2. The poly theme park view
3. Coronado Springs preferred (casitas)
4. Port Orleans Riverside (alligator bayou)

Where we have stayed and were just meh:
Beach Club water view
Boardwalk Inn standard

Where we stayed and didn't like/wouldn't stay again:
POP
AS-Sports
Caribbean Beach

10 day trip: 8 in the parks. Probably won't rent a car, so will rely on disney transport.

Must haves:
good dining options with long hours. (this was our main problem at bc/bw)
pool slide
quiet rooms

Anyone want to weigh in?

Coronado is always my first choice, given your Must Haves. But Port Orleans French Quarter is nice, small and quiet. Wilderness Lodge checks all those boxes as well and is beautiful.

CSR would probably be my choice. Stayed there last year and loved it. I would possibly stay again. Trying to decide myself.

I guess I don't understand you have more good dining than pretty much anywhere on property within a short walk.

Between BW, YC, Swan/Dolphin, and Epcot you don't have a resort that can compare. If you eliminate Epcot then maybe AK beats it out.

SSR I guess because you have all of Disney Springs?

Grand Floridian? We did a split stay between Yacht Club and Grand Floridian recently. As much as I loved the rooms and pool at YC I wasn’t a fan of their food options when we wanted something quick.
It was so nice moving to GF where there quick service was a fully operational QS. I believe they are open 24hrs with limited items at a certain point. I loved the option since I am any early riser and could grab a coffee and pastry at 5am.
We rent a car so I don’t know about how the transport compares to other places.
Dolphin might be another option? They have a fun pool and many good dining options.
I know that when staying at BC and BW people say there are many options but when staying at YC with 3 kids sometimes we just wanted a quick service meal with many options and just finding that was challenging. The new quick service at YC was limited. One afternoon we went to Hurricane Hannah and there was nowhere to sit so we ending carrying the trays of food back to our room.

If you want to try something new, I would consider GF. You'll get a bigger room, two big pools (one with a slide), lots of dining options and good transportation options. Maybe consider WL, but you would need to get a deluxe CL room there with 5 people. WL is gorgeous, but the pool slide is very small if that's a consideration. Of the ones you mentioned that you like, I would probably go back to Poly if that's a consideration.

Wilderness Lodge: great pool, easy boats to MK, Contemporary, Fort Wilderness, and food at Geyser point
Saratoga Springs (eat late at Disney Springs) or take a boat to Port Orleans. Also, they have the treehouses which rock but are a hike from the big pool.
Riviera: skyliner, topolinos
AOA - Skyliner to Epcot, etc for eats

WL or CR depending on your style preferences (I’d pick WL). Or you could just stay somewhere you know you love, like the Poly (that’s my favorite).

I'd say Coronado Springs but in the Gran Destino tower for something new. If I remember correctly, the tower also has a club level. And with the new outdoor dining option it is at the top of our next trip list.

I know SSR sometimes get a bad rap but we rented points in December and really enjoyed our stay. Couldn’t beat the room space for the money (rented a one bedroom). Our kids are younger; the pools were fantastic, a few good dining options and we LOVED taking the quick boat ride to DS.

I would agree with others and suggest Grand Floridian. There are a lot of food options there and the rooms are larger for a party your size. Plus, everyone should stay there at least once!!

We stayed at YC this past summer (4 different families) and that waa the overall complaint and really only for us as well. In my opinion having to walk to a theme park, go through security, entrance, etc. just for a meal is kinda a pain. We much prefer resorts with real food courts/CS options (not grab n go). That would be the only thing holding us back from staying in that area again.

I would also echo grand Floridian since I believe it’s quick service is open 24 hours but includes more food than others that are open late! Also I wonder when the walkway from GF to MK will be done? Maybe it’ll be done in time for your trip, and even though it’ll be a longer walk than CR to MK, you’re kids are older!

I love the Poly and think their pool is amazing. I would pick there first but I am biased lol! Have you also thought about Saratoga Springs? You can easily get to Disney Springs for late night eats. I think one of the Port Orleans resorts also has boat transportation to DS but I know you already stayed at POR once. Either way you’ll be at Disney! :-)

With a family of 5 you’ll be limited to rooms with a 5th sleeping surface. And I think with 2 teens you’ll want a larger room. So my 2c is either try GF or return to Poly.

French Quarter. It is just a water taxi ride from Disney Springs and its restaurants. All of the rooms are fairly close to the one bus stop that services the French Quarter.

However if you want a deluxe stay at any hotel on the MK beam.

Poly is my all-time favorite.

We stayed club level at Wilderness lodge last year and were so impressed we are (hopefully) going back again this year! We loved the quiet pool with the cabanas (they are first some first serve so no charge). LOVE Geyser point and the bar there. and just love being on the water and watching the nightly electrical water parade. We also were able to watch the fireworks from the club level. The CL CM's are outstanding. No one has ever gone above and beyond the way Wilderness club level staff did- with the exception of one CM we had at Poly. This is why we are returning.

I stayed at GF last year and had a lagoon view that, for whatever reason, had a fantastic view of the fireworks. Dining, also a priority for me, did not disappoint. So I'll add my vote with others for that. Or, for the same price, a 1BR suite at Dolphin or Swan would give you 2 baths and a lot more room to spread out + good food options. For example, I paid $650 all-in (taxes+fees) for a 2bed/3bath suite at Swan which I felt was a pretty good deal compared with Dis resorts.
