Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

As someone who has lived in Central Florida my entire life, I can say it certainly takes a LOT for a person to pass out from heat stroke. Last summer (July) I redid my entire front and back garden. Back breaking work, lugging 20lb bags of soil and fertilizer, manually pulling weeds and rooted grasses from inside the flower beds, digging holes and planting sometimes over 20 plants over a 4-5 hours period in a day-in the middle of the day. Temps close to 100*, humidity sky high, and while I did of course sweat a lot and took a couple of breaks to get some water and stand under an A/C vent in my house I did not feel like I was going to pass out even once. If someone has a condition where they easily pass out, they probably should not visit Florida in the summer.

I'm quite physically fit, used to the very humid Chicago summers, walk at least 4 miles a day.

Florida in June knocked my socks off. At one point I was sweating so bad, like could not stop, on the Friendship boats I got off early just to be away from people.

I can easily see people who aren't in the greatest shape, just not hydrated, whatever, getting heat exhaustion in the Florida summer soup.

Well, we shall see. Should be fun watching people in Florida standing over people passed out yelling..."personal responsibility". Heh.

Hopefully, Disney will have 10X the amount of available water stands in the park for this "new normal".
Who are these people in these hypotheticals that are just passing out left and right? I’m lost where this came from? Are we still yapping about masks? Masks are leading to blackouts now?

I’d be shocked if they confront someone in the park who moves their mask to take a drink or eat something.

That is not going to happen. And before anyone says so, that doesn’t render mask wearing pointless.

I’m curious about snacking in general. My kids are almost always snacking in line or in their strollers when we take them. Wondering if prolonged snacking will be allowed - not as a means to get out of the mask, just curious.

Masks leading to a higher amount of people passing out in the parks this summer has been part of the argument since this started. Where ya been?!

This, I’m wondering if there will be an age limit. Especially since Disney tends to have much younger kids in their parks, or this might be a deterrent for those with really young kids.

Nobody really knows yet. IMO, I think it will be pretty strict at first. Perhaps designated areas to sit down and drink? Although I think it would be fine to take a mask off for a quick sip, I really have no clue what will be allowed.

As time goes on, I think it will become looser and looser, and drinking and eating while walking around maskless will be less of a big deal. Again, just my opinion.

It would be insane of Disney to tell people they can't drink water if they are waiting in line for a ride, outdoors, during the height of the summer season.

Let's not get crazy!
:D

I’m envisioning a scene from a war movie where we’re high-stepping over bodies. Give me a break. If you’re so far on the brink of heat exhaustion that you think a mask will put you over the edge, stay home. Good grief.

Disney is not going to stop someone from eating or drinking. I know we have a group who thinks CMs are destined to become the Mask Police- but c’mon 🙄

Yes, as person in good shape who has, not many times, but a few, worn a mask for 6-8 hours working in the heat at about 90 degrees with LOW humidity, I can tell you there are going to be people passing out on the deck in that humidity in Florida, I think it could be a concern.

I can say that citywalk will not be able to stay open without ther parks being open and/ or some of the more affordable food options
Everyone seem to be buying a doughnut or auntie Anne pretzel. There was a line and wait list for both bubba gump and margaritaville, but no one eas buying any merchandise anywhere

Tbh it felt normal, not sure if everyone was just happy to be outside walking around, ther face masks became normal pretty quickly and my eye was drawn to people that weren't wearing them because they were eating or drinking

They were eating and drinking outside? Did you see a lot of that?

I was at an event last night where I had to wear a mask but had to talk a lot, which meant I had to drink a lot of water. Drinking water and wearing a mask is very awkward. I tore the mask once taking it down to drink. I also kept thinking of the contamination I was putting on the mask every time I touched it- which was a lot.

Does anyone have one of these?

I think at this point, if Disney doesn’t create a walk around character that’s just a giant mask, they’re missing a real opportunity. The mask has surpassed the popularity of the mouse. He’s talked about 24/7. If you thought FOP standby line was long, wait until you have to wait in line for a picture with Maskey Mouse

I'm surprised we are still talking about it. Its been all but officially announced now. Let's accept it and move in. If you don't like it don't go.
You think YOU can stop The Great Mask Debate?

Please.

The Great Mask Debate will still be going after the parks have opened and I even foresee it sporadically popping up once the pandemic is over. It has so much more of our lives left to consume...

I suspect this is why it seems that Disney is going to be opening the resorts alongside the parks.

Locals have tickets, buy less souveniers, and can leave for cheaper (better?) food.
