Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Many many of the WS CMs are CPs from abroad. They got kicked out of their place to live (CP dorms) and had no job. Renting some place in FL to hang around and wait to be called back just isn't possible in most of those cases.
Didn’t realize they had dorms here
I agree with all of that, it is logical and my guess is you're more right than wrong. My only change would be the first soft open date, I am guessing it's after July 4th.
was going to say I doubt it, guess you are right
Seaworld opening to the public 6/11
Nice
MK and AK 7/11
HS and EP 7/15

And dated tickets :(
Sucks

Since resorts could have remained open, I don't think we're going to learn about it in this meeting, but I hope Chapek talks about it in CNBC.

Our stay is July 18-26. We are definitely in guinea pig territory.

looks like we will be guinea pigs July 13-20 here

Yeah... and I would expect things to maybe be a little rough to start with and CMs get used to the new procedures and so forth. I think dieney will have them ready but it's unlikely to be the normal well oiled machine it normally is.

Another with a July 18 arrival. We have free dining. I'm going to need to hear if we're guaranteed to get into a park each day and if our ADRs and FP+ will be honored before I make a decision.
Us too. Free dining bounceback with dinner ADRs in different parks than my day FPs. Ugghh.

Ugh, seriously considering moving my August 15-22 trip to November. I am really curious how long the mask requirement will be in place, that is going to be miserable. Also the chance of not getting into a park is a deal breaker, I need to understand how that will work. At least I have a month of operations to see how it goes. Sorry to all those with June and July reservations.

The WDW presentation is over. Now OC is presenting about the health inspections they did at Seaworld and WDW. Q&A will come after that. Most likely we've gotten all the info we'll get at this point and won't get much more definite info until closer to July 11 (whether that's a week from now, a month from now, or July 10 lol)

We are booked for 8/7. Are we guinea pigs too? I don't know what to think. I'm obviously happy but I don't want to get ahead of myself if they don't open hotels. It's cutting close.
I feel awful for people affected that booked before this 😭

Yup. We're now officially out for August. No other options until next year. Oh well, will have to find a spot to spend our vacation dollars for a better experience.

Wow MID-July .. that is crazy. Way later than I expected. Can't believe they are going to let their competition be open for 4-5 weeks before they are. But maybe this is a good call -- maybe UO just won't get a lot of business until things settle down and until Disney opens.

Honestly though -- I hope the extra time allows the virus hysteria to settle and more data to come out and maybe .. just maybe .. Disney won't need as many restrictions as they are talking about now .. or at least won't need them for very long. Restrictions or not .. the general public are ready and willing for things to be "near" normal sooner than later (as you can tell from what tourist places WERE open this past holiday weekend). I just think as people "feel" safer going out and about (which is going to happen naturally over the next few weeks) .. more people will resist wearing masks and feel the need to socially distance.

But .. if the restrictions stand until then -- no way I'd make a reservation in July or August and maybe not even September.

If it looks like a lot of restrictions will be lifted in the fall, could be a very busy fall, but if a lot of these restrictions are still in place? A lot of people will just wait until 2021.
