I want to know how to be an Honorary Bus Driver like @afan .

Sometimes you can get the card from a bus driver. I've got one. About 2 years ago my friend and I were the only 2 people on the bus going to AK and we were chatting with the driver. Getting off, she gave us the cards.

I've also got the monorail driver one from when you could ride up front in the monorail.
That's an experience I used to get almost every trip because I went so often with just my youngest. We would get chosen often and sometimes if we noticed no one bothering to look for it we would ask and ride up front.

I wonder if the boat drivers have them?

I'll have to find the picture when I'm on my laptop but the lady that sat next to me and I both were. We had the seats right behind the driver on a bus where they face forward, I don't think many do. I probably posted about it here too. Anyway she told us we'd have to take over if anything happened because of where we were sitting. So we decided one would work the pedals and the other the wheel. It's when I found out that when they take their foot off the gas the brake starts to apply, or something like that, which is why some rides are so jerky, they don't coast like a car would. She gave us stickers when we got back to pop.

If you go to where you edit your profile you can change what the tag says but I think you have to earn your ears first. Not 100% on that though.

And here I thought you got the card.

And here I thought you got the card.

I think anyone can ask for the card and as far as I know all transportation has them, but prob not the skyliner since there's no driver. The cards are often mentioned as a free souvenir you can get.

I'd never seen these stickers anywhere online. I though when stickers where given out they were generally some type of Mickey sticker.

I have a doordash question.... I've never used it before- do we tip the driver in cash when they drop it off? what is the etiquette? Does the CSR credit apply if we choose pickup option? thanks
We tip the driver in the DoorDash app so we have contactless delivery
Hey, I'm a DoorDash driver! I suggest tipping in the app.
For one thing, drivers get to choose which offers they accept. DoorDash itself doesn't pay us much, so we count on tips. If DoorDash asks me to pick up an order and drive 5 miles for $3, I'm going to decline. Maybe I'll get a cash tip, maybe not. So, you'll get a driver to pick up your order faster if you have a decent tip on the app.
Sometimes my customers want to give me an additional cash tip, which I really appreciate! I don't mind if they hand it to me, but many have written my name on an envelope and taped it to their door for me to find. You can also text your driver and let them know where to find a cash tip.
Either way, thanks for tipping your driver!

I haven't done much new card'ing in a while to try and get well under 5/24. I did get the Alaska Air card with the 50k signup....couldnt resist.

But this morning I went down a rabbit hole and might have ventured into Schwab Plat territory. I guess I couldn't resist that either. And man, a instant approval from Amex feels goooooood :smokin:

Today has been a good day so far. My new Hyatt card came today and my home insurance payment is due today. I applied last Saturday and was instantly approved. I sent a SM to try to get the card expedited, but they said they couldn't because of dealing with the hotel for some reason. I hoped it would come by today, but honestly didn't think it would. Since it did, I've already knocked a little over $1,000 off of my spend requirement!

A belated happy 1k pages to us!

Tomorrow will be the day I call Virgin Atlantic to try and book our Japan tickets for next May...I'm very excited but also nervous because I don't see any availability on the United calendar for the weeks prior to our date...I DO see availability in April still so I have that in mind as a backup. I am planning to book the outbound flight for the day I want and then the return flight for the next day and then pay the $50 change fee when our real return flight date opens up. @Haley R and @calypso726, I think y'all have used this method to book flights to Japan via VS - do you or anyone else have any thoughts on my plan? Pitfalls I haven't thought of?

Also, with Chase biz cards on hold indefinitely I am thinking of applying for the World of Hyatt card for me and DH in July. I want to book the Park Hyatt Kyoto and the Hyatt Regency Tokyo in Japan, but would rather lose Hyatt points than URs if we end up having to cancel next year. I'm seeing offers for 25k pts/$3k spend or 50k pts/$6k spend in 6 months. That's the best available offer through either support links or direct through Chase, right?

My CIP fee will not drop! It has been over 3 weeks since we PCd. The payment has come and gone and I did not pay it thinking it would drop off. Now I have some interest on there as well. I have SM twice. They claim it will take 2-3 billing cycles. What? I hate to pull out @SouthFayetteFan's I know more than you GIF on them, lol. But I have never had one take this long to drop. Anyone else seeing this problem? I don't want to SM again, I don't really want the eyes on my account.

Update on this - I PCd it on May 13 the charge finally dropped on June 9.

The value of Hyatt points tends to run high. But, UR's are definitely more flexible. You can also transfer UR's to your Hyatt account using a CSP, CIP or CSR.

Spent the best part of this beautiful day (high of 77) cleaning my patio. I have a wall around most of it and at the base of the wall, earth gets trapped and will start growing things. So I had to pluck out some grass and then hose it down and sweep up all the sand I also dislodged. Hopefully Sil will put the special sand back in the cracks between the stones for me when he comes next week. If not I'll be pulling more grass and weeds very quickly.

Daughter has headed out to do pick up at Mission BBQ as I'm hungry now and we agreed no cooking today. She's having brisket and I'm having all the sides.

We actually were able to book our return flight that we wanted so I don’t have experience paying the change fee. I hope you’re able to get the flights you want though!

Not that I know of. I just called the other day to check what mine was. I used it up last summer but it resets in July for me. Totally going to use that up in July and Aug on restaurants!
Did it reset when your AF posted? I have upgraded this card twice so not sure when my anniversary is, but my AF just posted. I did use it all last year, but I'll for sure use it now.

What am I missing?? Just applied for DH to get the Chase Freedom and was denied. He’s 2/24 (he has a CSP and CSR - most recent card from Oct 2019). Credit score is 820+. We had a big balance on the CSR last month, but I just paid that off, and it’s showing on the Chase app as having been paid. I applied online (after logging in to his Chase account) and got an immediate denial with a note saying I’d get more info in 7-10 days. I assumed the CF was a slam dunk. Again - what am I missing??

Well, we got our letter from Chase, and the problems were - outstanding debt on credit accounts too high, credit card balances grew too fast, one or more requests for new credit in the past 12 months, and one or more revolving accounts have a high balance compared to the credit line.

DH only has 2 Chase cards (and an ancient Capital One). I only have 1 Chase personal card (SW), so I’m guessing the biggest red flag was that we did have a massive balance on DH’s CSR. I paid that off before “he” applied for the Freedom, but I guess I should have waited a little longer between paying it off and applying.

Any thoughts on how long until he can apply again??? Our credit score is really, really good, so I was pretty shocked to get declined.

Also, I was planning to apply for the CSR next week. In light of this letter, should I wait??

Does anyone know if you can transfer between accounts Marriott bonvoy points?Dw to mine?

That's what we did. I'd do it again rather than risk not having my outbound. We are also going for a Hyatt card in July. As far as I can tell those are the best offers. I'll be going for the 50k for $6k in 6 months since we are planning to get back under 5/24 one more time to churn the Chase BonBlah card in the fall.
