Yes, the blackout would start 12/17 and go to 1/2/2021, if I remember correctly. So you would have parks up until 12/16, unless you upgraded to platinum if that's still allowed.

If my postman would hurry up and get her I could give you my number for my 117 days on DVC gold, while keeping my pass so far! Now, I'm pretty happy with whatever pennies I get.
That is the date for the blackout from what I remember too. This was our first year with AP's and we only bought since my dd was going to be down there. We didn't get near the use we planned but I still think we came out ahead since we went 8 days last Aug, a 4 day surprise trip in Dec (for other dd to sing in the CP) and then I took the boys when I took my dd down for her DCP and we hit the parks 4 days then. So, dh & dd17 probably just broke even but the rest of us got more value. We are forcing this trip now mostly because of our expiring dvc points but getting another 8 days out of our AP's is nice too! I also think, if we definitely don't think we are going back before mid Dec, then whatever pennies we get back would be good too. I wasn't expecting anything really.

No one has any idea how they are figuring, and they are not telling anyone. That is very frustrating! Just know you have to ask for the refund by 8/11 or the option will be gone.
I haven't read everything but it sounds like they are deducting full price for days used. So, if you used 4 days of your AP, they deduct the price of a 4 Day PH, etc. It's sounding like the refunds are very small.

Ours were set to expire in Jan, now they've been extended until mid-June. We're keeping them and making the best of it.

I haven't seen anything stating that? They are supposed to refund all remaining days on your pass from July 11th to the extended expiration date. No one knows if they are backing out black out dates from those numbers or not. No one yet has actually gotten the full cancellation refund, they won't start arriving until at least sometime in September.

I called around the same time you had asking for a refund on the days closed and was also told they would call me prior to doing anything. Didn’t receive a call and our passes were extended the 117 days. Waited 2 hrs last Monday to cancel the passes, then on Wednesday they were extended the 30 days...so it will be interesting to see what our refund will be in September

And, no postman yet....must be the heat, or maybe it's the thunder and lightning. I may be waiting until tomorrow evening. We get our mail late usually but at least by 6. Nothing in my box and informed delivery had a whole bunch of stuff for me.

That's the way I feel. Even though I had one more trip planned, if I don't do it I'm still okay even without refund, but I'll take it. The refund will offset next years AP, which won't start until Nov 2021 or so.

Oh, I would expect you to get a decent amount as your pass was good through the whole closure period. I mean at least $175-$200 going on what other's have gotten, although there haven't been a lot of reports on gold passes good through the whole closure.

My September SW flights (9/11 & 9/14) are giving me the option to change for no fee. I was just about to add CPs, I'm glad I held off though I'm not sure if I'm going to change anything.
Thanks for sharing, our fall break (10/13-10/18) trip is also eligible for free changes.

Our post office has shortened their hours the last few weeks from 9-6 to 11-4 and there are days we don’t get a delivery at all.
I sell on eBay and schedule pickups, usually our mail comes by 12, if it’s not here by 3 then I’m running the eBay stuff to the PO so it goes out

Someone on the AP only thread requested a refund of the closure period and received an amount calculated by the pass cost divided by 365 days...times 117 days

I don't know for sure, just noticed a few not so happy comments while scrolling Facebook. I had just read a comment before coming over here and he used 8 days of the pass (in March so right before closure) and only got back 9.50. Makes no sense to me. I'm not paying full attention since I'm not asking for a refund.

I saw it as speculation in one or two posts, but the reports I've read have larger refunds, but they are for Platinum ap's mostly.

We usually get delivery every day except Saturday. The only time I go near the actual post office is once or twice a year to drop something in the outside box if I forget to put my red flag up and get passed by.

I'm still waiting to see. If it's $9.50 I'll take it but that doesn't follow with the other reports I'm reading from people who have used their passes for at least one or more trips.

Thanks for sharing. I just changed my August flights and my October flights didn't have the change a few days ago, but now 10/21-10/25 is available. I used to add my CP as soon as soon as I booked, but now with cancellations and changes I just wait too. Hopefully I don't forget!

I know it's kind of a gamble waiting on the CPs, but it makes changes so much easier.

I can't decide what to do.
Leave here at 9:45am direct landing at 1:20 OR leave here at 6:45a change planes in HOU and get there at 12:10.
I like the extra hour since we'll head straight to parks, leaving earlier would help avoid any morning traffic, but we are not early morning people. And I really don't like the flight between HOU and AUS, it's really short and messes with my head.

Yes, that is the partial refund they were offering before the parks re-opened. That option is no longer offered. Now it's from July 11th until the extended expiration date. Maybe minus blackout dates, maybe not LOL. Hopefully without some other funny math thrown in.

My choice is always direct over a stop due to the possibility of delays etc

I double checked my email from Disney that I got on 7/1 and it said we should be receiving a check for the partial refund we requested. I have no idea when to expect this

Agree, your hour advantage can turn into an hour delay really quick.
Agreed. DH said he'd rather leave home earlier and deal with traffic to get to the airport for 9:45 than to fly at 6:45. Add in possibility of delay and we'll stick with what we have.

Next decision, Shades of Green or Contemporary. As much as I want to stay at Contemporary, I think I'll save the $$ and stick with Shades and rent a car which still leaves me saving $400. Then I need to decide on a park for my leaving day. Currently AK, but we've decided we can skip it next trip. I'd like to pick up Epcot, but I think the crew would prefer DHS.

If they had any clue how much I put into planning these trips...
