Robert Trump passes

It's good they were able to say good-bye. Why can't all families be allowed into hospitals to say good-bye?
Where I work they were always allowed for dying patients. It would have to be approved through proper channels, and family had to wear PPE and follow other certain directives for safety, but it was allowed. Hospitals here are now open to visitors again with rules in place (hours, number of people, screening and masks, etc.). And so is NYP Cornell Medical Center - see link below. (President Trump is pictured In the article above entering the hospital wearing a mask, as would be required.) But that may not be the case in other areas that are hard hit right now. Some Northeast states were hard hit at first but have thankfully quieted down for now.

How sad. We lost a good friend last winter from a similar incident. She fell down her stairs and suffered a brain bleed. Very scary. :(

Same here...not preventing families from seeing loved ones who are actively dying.

This is scary...my DH is on blood thinners. I never even thought about this as a potential danger.
Very sad!
Yes heavy bleeding is a risk factor.

Falls kill 27,000 people 65 and older every year and account for more then 800,000 hospitalizations for the same age group.

I get where you’re going with this (and agree), and Trumps’s brother was 72, but I think @J’aime Paris’s husband is much younger than that. It is a concern for any age group when on anticoagulants.

My prayers go out to President Trump and all of his family. Siblings are so special.
It's a melancholy season of life when you get to be a certain age, your parents are gone, and realizing now it's your generation's turn. The first of "us" to go was my brother in 2015. My other brother and sister are 77 and 69 respectively. I'm 53 so it's likely I'll have to say good by to each of them eventually. :sad1:

It is very sad. I lost my Dear Dad, 7 years ago due to him very sadly 😢falling down the stairs, having a brain bleed, hematoma..he passed away within 16 hours of his tragic fall. What a shock to all of us and My Mom, he was relatively healthy and had just finished working outside puttering around his lawn as he loved to do. He was a wonderful father, loving and adoring Grandpa.🙏🙏
