Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Officially booked at the BC for June 8-13th. Been a while and can't wait to be back!! Just my lovely wife and I for our 30th wedding anniversary and first trip with just the two of us since 1997!! Our honeymoon was at WDW (Grand Floridian) so all things come full circle!!

Jay

we are similar. Celebrating 40 years coming up. Staying at BC in late September. Originally honeymooned at Polynesian. TRADITION !!!

Just book 6/13-6/19! My dad's room in YC is a wheelchair-accessible with a tub, water view. Any ideas where those are? I'm hoping it's a "good" water view and not something you have to lean off your balcony and tilt your head to find the lagoon :) I tried looking at Touring Plans but their finder didn't seem to show any rooms in that category. The map posted in the beginning of this board has so many colors I can barely tell which is the one I'm looking for lol.

TP must have recently done some kind of software change.... they are calling the non-Club level water views "Pool/Lake" view now.... but you are right, when I searched with "tub" under accessibility, I didn't see any. When I took that search criteria away, all the rooms that used to be called "water view" came up, so it might be worth calling to check that they have the notation of "wheel chair, tub" on the reservation.

Just booked "anticipated marathon weekend" for the BCVs; 1/5/22 - 1/13/22. Hoping that the event goes off in some shape or form but know there will be registration challenges and race restrictions if it takes place. Nonetheless will be back to Disney again, race or no race! And who knows? Maybe another early start for The Festival of the Arts!

Us too! Finally back on the roll for BCV's.

Dee could you add us for MickeyT and family January 5th to the 10th 2022!

Just booked through Dreams for a July 16-26 trip at BC Villas 1 Bedroom. I never realized you could actually book here lol. It's a little over double as expensive to stay instead of Shades for us but you get so many perks that we wanted, full kitchen, laundry, etc. Also, for any military members doubting the Dreams crew, the reservation they got me was $200 cheaper than what Disney quoted me directly for Military. Can't wait!

Hi Dee,

Could you please add us for Feb. 21-23 YC GV

Thanks!

Will do!

:cool1:

I know I've seen this answered here before but I cannot find the answer for the life of me and I apologize for my poor searching fu. How far in advance can you book a cabana at the pool? We have an trip coming up in April and I want to make sure we get one for at least one day.

:welcome: back to the thread!

With Club Level closed, are “CL rooms” still being rented out, just as regular rooms instead of CL rooms?

Also, DH and I will be at YC March 3-7 for our first-ever “resort only” Disney trip! Would love any suggestions for non-park activities at or near YC (or Skyliner accessible).

:welcome: to the thread!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Hope you get some suggestions about non-park activities.

My contribution is to check the March activities schedule for the resort, which includes Movies on the Beach on selected nights.

:thumbsup2

Hi everyone, staying at the yc from March 29- april4th! We’re so excited, haven’t stayed there since 2015.. been a regular at WL because my son was obsessed with MK, but he now loves Star Wars and toy story, figured best to be close to HS. My DH and LOVE Epcot so it’s a win win for all of us. Thus had been our longest stretch away from wdw, over 2 years!
I am a bit nervous about finding a good spot in sb. Any suggestions where we could keep an eye on our active swimmer? I know the pirate slide is separate and he’s going to be all over the place.. Originally I wanted to stay at the Boardwalk inn, fir thus reason but it’s still closed :(
Thank you for all of your amazing advice over the years!

:welcome: to this forum!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Stormalong Bay is set up in sections, so the suggestion of where you should set up depends on the type of swimming fun your son wants.

From right to left (Closest to Beach Club):

Activities Pool and Slide Outlet

If your son is looking for some action, you should be able to find a spot where you can watch him. If he wants to use the slide, one of you could escort him to the entrance, and then someone could stay in that spot for when he is propelled back into the pool.

The Lazy River- If your son goes on this alone, there is no spot where you will be able to see him during the entirety of his trip.

The waterfall pool- This is probably the best place for "traditional swimming". You should be able to find an area to set up to watch.

The Sand Bar (Yacht Club Side)-

Very shallow area for wading and sand play. Plenty of seating for observing, not a great part of pool for swimming.

Quiet pools- There are 3 quiet pools on property, which are good for traditional swimming fun, laps, etc.

If you have not done so yet, check out Page 1, Posts 2 and 3 for lots of pictures and information about the resort pools.

hello! We just booked a trip to the YC for our family of three for April 17-23 and I’m trying to catch up on all of the COVID Changes since we were there two years ago! I’m not sure if this is the best place to ask, but we were hoping to make use of our first Epcot resort stay and go to the world showcase most nights for dinner. we have park hoppers however now I am seeing you have to reserve your park for the day and they recommend only booking dinner reservations at the park where you will be spending the day? Has anyone ever been denied entry to the world showcase for capacity to try and reach their Epcot dinner reservations? I’m thinking I’m not seeing too many posts on this right now because it was probably addressed more when they first reopened. Thanks!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Thanks for your question- I didn't really know how the park hopping has been working, so I was thankful to see the responses below!

::yes::

You can now park hop to a second park at 2:00 PM or after - but you must have a park reservation for the first park you plan to visit - so if you don't plan to go to any other park on a given day, you will need a park reservation even after 2:00 PM to visit any park.

:thanks:

You will not have any capacity issues hopping to Epcot after 2:00 PM. As previous poster noted you will have to have a park reservation and actually visit the park you reserved in order to park hop Epcot or any other park for that matter after 2:00 PM. Or you can simply reserve Epcot as your park of the day if you plan on spending the whole day there. I bolded actually because when we were there in January I heard that someone got denied hopping to Epcot because they did not actually enter the park they reserved first for that particular day.

:thanks:

Capacity restrictions at park #2 have not been a problem to date (no where close by all accounts). Theoretically I guess it’s possible, but it would take the return of nighttime entertainment or some other mega-demand generating offering, in all likelihood.

:thanks:

Dee,
We decided to stay at YC vs. BC 1BR.
thanks!

Got it!

Awesome! Thanks for offering some info. I'm a BCV DVC owner and looking fw'd to lower crowds at SAB. Can you share what SAB pool crowds were like? Was slide open? I thought I might have heard someone say no more sand in sand bottom area- that true? Are the cabanas open? Any indication of Cape May Cafe opening soon? Crowds at DVC pool? How soon did skyliner open before HS park opening? AM coffee in solarium back? I'm stumped with "BG18" btw- pls enlighten me! Thank you!

👇

This was January so please factor in that the temps were in the 60's to around 70 for most of our stay.
SAB crowds were low and spacing of chairs exists. Slide and cabanas were open. The sand has not left the pool. It varies in depth from one area to another, but again has not left the pool. DVC pool was not crowded but the painting work took away from the fun and quiet....this may not be the case when you go. We actually went to the Tidal Pool which is Beach Club's "quiet pool". Skyliner began operation at 8:00 AM each day for a 9:00 AM HS opening. We opted to walk and left the villas at 7:50 and were at HS by 8:10. Please note you will have to transfer at CB for the Skyliner to HS and there may be lines. BG18 refers to the boarding group we got for Rise of the Resistance at HS. We were on by 9:45 AM each day and it was great! AM coffee in the Solarium has not returned yet.

I think I got everything!

Thanks so much for the detailed responses!

:thumbsup2

This may be a stupid question, but you said that you got BG18 twice using in-room WIFI. Can you try for boarding groups while still at the resort or do you need to be in the park? I assume at the very least you need to have a reservation for HS that day.

:confused3

We spoke to the forelady of the project in Oct. & Jan. and they are painting the entire BCV. They have just been by the Dunes Cove pool since Oct. Once the pool area exterior of the resort is done they will be done. She thought late spring. When you see how they have cleaned up and repainted it is significant especially the white trim and the Turquoise color is different when you see the old and new color together. Can't wait to see the progress tomorrow!

Thanks so much for sharing the info you have about the painting project.

The Boarding Group reservation process changed on 11/3/20 in that you no longer have to be in the park to make a reservation and they moved the time to 7:00 AM. So yes we made the reservation from our resort [BCV] and yes you do need to have a park reservation for HS in order to attempt a BG reservation. They have a second drop of BGs each day at 1:00 PM in the event you get shut out of the 7:00 AM process. In this case you must be in the park at 1:00 PM in order to try for these reservations and you can not try for the 1:00 PM reservations if you already got a BG for that day.

In the most recent configuration for the 7 AM BG window you can be anywhere but must have a HS Disney Park Pass and a valid ticket assigned in MDE. For the 1 PM BG window you need the above and must have also entered HS before 1 PM. You can leave HS after tapping in and be anywhere in the WDW area or greater Orlando just need to be able to return before you 1 hr BG window closes.

Note: Anywhere means just that. Guests have gotten BGs from airports in another state or from home in Alaska. Just please don't waste an unused BG as it blocks other guests. For 7 AM you might get BG 1 and have a very short time to get to HS since BGs have a 1 hour return window.

Off topic, but it’s literally the best change EVER. :goodvibes

No you don't have to be physicall in the park at 1 PM to try for a BG. You just have to have entered HS before 1 PM. For example you could be taking a lunch break at Beaches and Cream at the YC / BC and still be eligible for the 1 PM BG window.

I have not been following the Boarding Group info and had no idea you didn't need to be in the park or that there was a second opportunity. These are both great improvements to comply with COVID-distancing suggestions.

Thanks for explaining this! My son and his best friend/college roommate, who are completing their Sophomore year at George Washington University, in my basement, are planning to go to WDW in May or June and ROTR is an important part of that trip.
