Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Thank you I am aware of all this. My question is more about Timing and what specific time to be at bus stop and frequency of buses in the morning

Okay, sorry! Sometimes knowledgeable people have a very specific question, and I incorrectly assume they need more info than they do.

Does the pone app still have bus times at the resorts? Haven't been there in almost 2 years.... so much is different.

Remember that only Disney buses can drop you off AT the Magic Kingdom. If you get a cab/Uber/Lyft or drive, you will be let off at the Transportation & Ticket Center, and have to take the ferryboat or monorail to get from there to the Magic Kingdom.

Some people try taking Uber/Lyft to the Contemporary and walk from there. Some people think you need to have a dining reservation or mobile order at the Contemporary in order for the guard at the shack to let the Uber/Lyft enter the Contemporary property. If it's mobile order, it can be cancelled upon arrival. Some people think that mobile order won't let you get past the gate. I don't know what the truth is, having not tried it myself. You can now walk from the Grand Floridian to the Magic Kingdom, so maybe it would work from there, but it's a longer walk than from the Contemporary.

Disney is cracking down on this practice just FYI, as of now you can no longer mobile order from Contempo Cafe or Wave to Go unless you're a guest at CR or BLT.

Not that I've seen, heck, I haven't even seen bus times at the bus stops on any of my trips since reopening. It usually just has a line where the time would be.

Be at the bus stop at least 75 minutes before park opening. They send frequent MK buses but with reduced seating they fill up fast. Keep checking the bus times listed in the MDA app to get an idea of when the next bus will arrive

I feel as though this falls on Disney though. Shouldn’t they be limiting the number of people who are staying there so this isn’t an issue? It’s not like they don’t know how many people are on reservations and how many are allowed in the pool area at a time. I’m not saying they should limit to just that number.... but I don’t think they should be selling out all rooms to the point it’s this kind of issue. People are paying $500+ a night to stay here and then waiting in a line for the pool? Idk seems crazy to me. Can you imagine if they keep capacity what it is and add all the beach club rooms back in? The line will be wrapped around the resort come summer time lol.

We're coming down mid-July and I admit this is one line I won't enjoy being on. On the bright side, hopefully chair hoarding won't be an issue any longer. I'm assuming that if you reserve a cabana you're guaranteed entrance? We were planning on getting a cabana anyway.....

I think the term quiet pool is somewhat misleading. The one outside my YC room was not quiet until after midnight. Disney calls them "Leisure Pools".
They call them leisure pools now. They used to call them quiet pools until they decided to not enforce the etiquette rules.

this is getting so frustrating...
I’m here now and what you don’t hear...anywhere...is laughter. It’s just not fun right now. I’m not going to argue with anyone, it’s just how things are. The newcomers who like the emptiness say it’s good for them, but those who live love WDW are having a rough time.

Can I ask why? We're here to help if we can to alleviate planning pressures you may have!
Yes! Please! I feel like it's hitting brick walls, or I have to just get used to this way of thinking mentality since I've been there prior to pandemic times or I'm mad for not going during pandemic when things sounded so quiet and amazing frankly. Now I hear crowds and issues that are all new to me . I'm definitely glad then i chose yc for walking to at least two parks but 75 minutes to board the mk bus prior to opening to avoid the bus issue makes me feel like i won't have a good time compared to my previous visits. I don't want to uber really and frankly you cant uber comfortably to mk between ttc and other options. everything seems to have 'an issue'. the pool has an issue, the bus has an issue, adr has an issue with getting them. It seems 'hard' when the joy used to be planning i feel like i'm not getting joy in the planning like i used to...

75 minutes to board the mk bus prior to opening to avoid the bus issue

It's 75 minutes before official opening, but not actual opening. If MDE says the park opens at 9, then it will more likely open about 45 minutes to an hour before that. Being out to the stop early gets you on a early bus and into the park early. That will give you at least a little bit of quieter time in the park.

You'll be fine. What you're getting here lately are reports and feedback from one of the busiest times of the year for Disney; Easter plus spring breaks. Disney is always crowded and more so this time of year. Throw in social distancing and capacity limitations then things appear worse than they really are.

I'd like to put the "75 minute" bus to MK in context. The poster that was responded to wanted to be there for rope drop with an 8:00 AM opening. Disney parks have typically begun the opening process about 30 minutes before the published opening time. You have temperature check, security and then MB scan before you actually get in the park. Disney likes to keep the crowds in motion during this time versus staging everyone. So, back to the 75 minutes. At the bus stop at 6:45AM and I guarantee [99%] you that a bus will be there within 15 minutes. 15 minute ride to MK and it's now 7:15 AM. Another 5 minutes to first staging area [temp check] and they're on their way! If you're not planning to get to MK or AK for rope drop then typical bus wait time can be up to 20 minutes with bus drive time to each park around 15 minutes.

There will always be issues reported on this thread and other threads but quite frankly I feel that they're the exception and not the rule. In my opinion things will get better. I firmly believe that when BC opens at the end of May that adjustments will be made for SAB to allow for increased occupancy.

My experience with several stays at various resorts since reopening. No times in the app or monitors for the first few months. Around December it seemed like things were slowly coming back online, would sometimes work, sometimes not. My last trip in March I would describe as “normal” app and monitor operations. But as PPs have noted, YMMV!

One more rope drop question for a 9am hs opening what time should we walk over for rope drop 7:30am?

7:45 AM would be fine. Saves you 15 minutes! Takes about 20 minutes to get there, give or take 5 minutes depending on your walking speed. Are you leaving from BC, BCV or YC? Just asking because of the go right/go left question!
