Do we really need the cursing on the Falcon and Winter Soldier?

The most epic business meeting I have ever attended was when the boss three levels up had to have a meeting to apologize for his language. He presented lots of info showing it was a sign of intelligence and that productivity was greater at offices that freely cussed but that he would curtail his language. The meeting was so awkward and awesome at the same time.

The higher up I get the more I swear.

It seemed out of place being that I even noticed it at the first instance. I was just like “ok Disney”

As far as the violence, I think watching battlestar go limp when he hit that pillar and knowing he died on impact was more shocking than John walker freaking out afterward. Sh** was about to go down. But still a bit hard to watch.

edit for spoiler

Never said that. Just expressed my opinion about using the word fudge when not referring to candy.
I've used frick and frack also. I don't mind the occasional curse word, heck, I don't care if you curse every other word. I just don't think it's necessary.

Its all about marketing. If the language is a concern to you, then you are not the main demographic it is being aimed at. You may like to watch it, but you would not tick all the boxes that the marketing department have listed in the audience persona, which would influence everything from the script , to the editing, to the costumes and so much more that most people are not even aware of.

Bill Burr was asked why he had a Boston accent in space and responded in kind, "how stupid is it that things from all over the universe are speaking English?"

Swearing is not lazy writing, an arm a guy got in a fake land and makes him into a robot person, maybe that's lazy. Swearing humanizes any subject. People who have an issue with it, have an issue with other things not the swearing, its a symptom of their larger issue.

Is the implication that because its on Disney+ it should be entirely family friendly and sterile? I don't know that they've ever claimed that. While I wouldn't expect anything egregious on Disney+, mild foul language in a TV-14 rated show seems acceptable. DH and I do not have kids, but we subscribe to Disney+ and watch these shows. It would probably be corny and maybe we'd choose not to watch if they started omitting fighting or saying things like "gosh dang it" instead.

Well he’s got to do his part to hit that bad language quota for the PG-13 rating.

Throw out a couple of swears and then “cut the check!”

If bombing Steve and Nat, throwing Sitwell into a moving truck, blowing up two buildings, shooting up a bus, and killing hundreds of people isn't enough to get a PG-13 rating, I'd question the point of the rating.

Given all the actual violence you mention, I don't think any kind of language (words) should be shunned, especially soft language as it has been.

I like using the C word. People who say frick or heck are doing the same thing as people swearing, they are just pretending that they are not.
While I don't disagree with you in principle, there are words that are "inappropriate" at certain times/locations. And if the words mean & are used the same, why do you (general) feel the need to use the more offensive?

They’re words. I’ll never understand why spicy languge is offensive... Unless the words are being used to directly insult someone, they’re just extra. Superfluous to some 🤷🏻‍♀️

Some of the most intelligent people curse like sailors and you would never even know it. Ever heard a surgeon in the OR? Nurses?

Context is king. They just killed some guy but some "words" are too much?
Speaking of context, I never said what you're implying I said. As long as the appropriate rating is used, I really don't care.

Why does it matter who is more intelligent? Absolutely there are "intelligent" people who curse. Do you curse to show off your intelligence? Is that what it is? Do you curse to shock? Do you curse simply because it's a habit (or just the way you talk)? Have you (general) thought about WHY you curse?
