News Round Up 2021

First of all... There’s nothing set in stone that says FP isn’t coming back. When Disney says it’s dead and never coming back, I’ll believe it. As far as this Thread goes, I think it’s pretty great the way it is!! People here prefer POSITIVITY and Hope for the future over Gloom and Doom - the path a lot of these threads have taken lately. Having hope for Disney to return to normalcy one day isn’t too far fetched. And to your last comment... You don’t have to like me, but know that I did step up to help out when this thread no longer had a true direction. You had every opportunity to pick up and continue where Ryan left off. Why didn’t you?!
I very much appreciate your contributions to this thread and for you jumping in and keeping it alive!

No, there have been dates in glitches before. It’s an automatic tool that Disney has just “turned off,” but Disney IT being Disney IT, glitches will happen.

I’m all for being positive, but I think it’s counterproductive to get posters excited about something that isn’t likely to happen at this time. I don’t think people who point that out should just be dismissed because it’s not information that many of us want to hear.
For folks new to this board who don't know, Andyman8 has a pretty good track record around here. And he is not the only one in the online Disney "world" saying this. Many insiders have been saying this for quite a while. So, while I agree that it's great to be positive, I also think it's wise to temper our expectations in this area.

I also hope he will continue to visit this thread and keep us updated- I, for one, appreciate his knowledge and insight. This is not to say that I don't appreciate the contributions mrsap has made with keeping the thread going. She's done a great job posting news and keeping us informed and upbeat! I just happen to think there's room for both here- and for anyone else who wants to contribute.

I didn't either on any trips this year, I kind of preferred the constantly moving lines.
Although I'm thinking my feeling might change come 4 weeks from now :)
I feel my dataset is biased because it was pretty slow the week I was there, but I really enjoyed no FP as well. I really started questioning it after I was able to ride MFSR with only a 70 minute wait the day SWGE opened. Once FP+ comes for SWGE the wait time will likely be 150+ minutes.

I'm someone that really knew the FP+ system and got a lot every day, but it was nice not staring at my phone all day.

I've got a solution for the whole FP debate - they should just open the parks for me only, that way there are no lines for anything. I still want FastPasses though so I can skip ahead of myself! 🤣

I kind of thought it was nice to have no FP as lines did move faster. The things is, FP is a trade off, and some prefer to have a few in the bank and some don't. I do think that not EVERY ride should have them, and if they do bring it back they should look at the Disneyland model instead of the book 3 ahead of time for almost any attraction - some rides don't really need them, like anything that is an Omnimover. Those eat people by design. Whatever they come up with, I'm sure some will love it and some will hate it. I'm not too worried though, I can work with whatever, mostly thanks to the DIS!

Which is why I'm so interested in trying it without FP+. We were good at FP+. We worked that system. I liked that we knew we were getting on our favorite rides (within reason) with FP+. We were great at the refresh method. But that's the only way I know, maybe my opinion will change after next week's trip!

Hey folks there's better places to debate FP+ and your opinions about it's return or your opinions about people's positive outlooks or whatever.

So please move it somewhere else and stop flooding the news space. I appreciate everything @mrsap does to keep this thread so active with constant news- if you don't then there's no reason for you to hang around on this thread.

Okay BACK TO NEWS!! 🎉

I'm still hoping for more entertainment to return! 🤞🤞🤞

I know when I post links, my response wouldn't be that I didn't read it (I read and scrub every single link). I value quality over quantity when my reputation/knowledge is published. If I don't have enough knowledge on the subject, I usually pass.

I appreciate the PMs lately supporting me on the links I have shared. :love2:

On Magical Express now and the bus is pretty full. No attempts to sit people apart or anything like that. However, the videos are out of date and mention temp checks and 6 foot spacing.

If this means shorter lines for both DME and the Skyliner then I'm all for it but I understand some might not be comfortable with it.

I won't lie though... having a gondola to ourselves was nice. ☺️

As long as they keep asking if it's okay to have separate parties together.... I get that the lines are long sometimes, I've stood in them, but I was always very thankful that we had a cabin to ourselves. It made the mode of transportation so much nicer having just your family in the space. I'm hoping the buses never go back to standing, cramming people in. I like having my personal space.
