Early Entry Speculation

We're staying at GCH and a little bummed that the EMH won't be happening, though I was never really expecting it would be back by the time our trip came up (late August) so NBD. I will say I stopped using EMH at WDW even when I had access to it because it's available to soooo many people that the EMH times, particularly the morning ones, would be SLAMMED. The advice I was always given for WDW was actually to avoid EMH parks bc they tended to be busier on those days. Though I imagine with less hotels and less people having access to EMH it is much more of an actual benefit at DL.

Glad to know that EMH will be back at some point. Now bring back package delivery!

My plans are still up in the air. But my two fav 'perks' for staying onsite are EMH and package delivery, and both are super important to me. As of right now, neither one is happening. And if they aren't happening, neither am I (as far as staying onsite). You can stay just as close to the Esplanade at some of the 'offsites' so why pay up to quadruple the price for nothing 'extra'?

I feel the same way as you. No early entry at Disneyland and DCA. No package delivery.
no daily housekeeping. Why stay on site?!
I will not stay until Early Entry and daily housekeeping return. All of the resort hotel amneties need to return before I will return and I want a hotel promotion price too!!

I just emailed CCI this morning, and they responded that they are starting to make bookings as of Nov. 1st, but still tentative because they don't officially have a reopening date yet. I'm bummed because I wanted to book there for September.

Thanks for the most current info! I was hoping to stay there in September as well. Really looking forward to checking it out when the renovation is complete.

If EMH becomes available only for DL on site guests, then for our family, that would make staying on site at DL a lot more attractive. Think about it...so many fewer people who would have EMH. That'll translate into a very empty park for that first hour.

When we went to WDW in the "before times" before COVID, we would always avoid the designated morning EMH park because there was really no advantage...due to the extremely large # of people who stay on site at WDW (way more hotel rooms there, of course!).

Ha! I'd forgotten about how nice it is to return to a freshly made up room at the end of a long day, especially with turndown service. Adding daily Mousekeeping to the list of 'must haves'!

They are still not doing daily housekeeping? I mean if they are not doing it now, do you think it will ever return? I have heard that some hotels said that daily housekeeping will be a thing of the past and just add to their bottom line. I have a stay booked for Aug and had not even thought about daily housekeeping not being there. When we were staying at Universal Florida's deluxe resort several times in the last year, they did not have daily housekeeping, but we were getting such a great rate that I did not care. They DL hotel is basically charging full price with no Goofy's kitchen and no early entry.

No there is no daily housekeeping.

Daily housekeeping must come back!!!

We were at WDW in mid May and stayed at the Riviera for five nights. This was a one bedroom villa complete with a full size kitchen. During the five nights they came by twice. They emptied the trash in the kitchen and swapped out dirty towels. That was it. No vacuuming or anything else. Personally, I think this has less to do with Covid and more to do with helping their bottom line. For what we were charged I expected a little more but we did know going in what the expectation would be.

Thank you for info. That is disgraceful. If Disney is doing this to be cheap, shame on them!!! They are taking advantage of COVID to boost their bottom line. We should start complaining.
Staying in a villa is not cheap. No vacuuming? Disgusting!

We're staying at the DLH in October, and are desperately hoping for EMH to be back by then.

I just called DLH to ask/beg/inquire as to the EMH returning on October 1st (as they are in DW).

The CM of course didn't know/couldn't promise anything, but tried to be reassuring about how quickly things are opening up/being added on (he gave the example: "we just learned about the fireworks coming back about 3 weeks ago, and they already debuted on July 4th, so things do happen quickly").

I also asked if DLH was thinking about some sort of a discounted room rate, since the MAJOR perk of EMH (that really, really helps to justify the $500+/night room rates) was not being offered. Of course, he said not to expect any room rate adjusted (as I expected) but I did ask just to have it out there in a CM's ears, if you kwim.

I then also asked him to please register the guest comment/concern/complaint about re-opening the EMH for hotel guests, due to the HUGE price of the on-site hotels without that really isn't justifiable without that major perk.

He did say he would fill out that form on my behalf
, and that he absolutely understood the concern--and the lack of justification for the price if there are no EMH for hotel guests.

It might help if Disneyland hears from more of us that are planning to stay on-site...more "official" registered complaints might help to get more attention drawn to the EMH issue!

It's worth a try, if anyone has the time to call and "officially" register that request/concern/complaint! :-)

I agree! DL would be awesome if they brought this perk back NOW! I want to book a trip, but dh says no, not until the perks are back as well has full park hours. We always stay on site and we spend $$$$$$. We also get APs. (I guess we are considered Legacy AP holders, ours expired in October 2020). I told dh I was willing to NOT go to the Halloween party just to go to DL, but, no........Disney, are you listening? You are missing out on $$$$$$$ because of not ramping things up for your hotel guests. Oh, and off topic, where are the Dapper Dans?

I forgot to mention that when I called the DLH yesterday to please register an official "guest concern/complaint/request" to reinstate EMH, that I also asked if we could have the now-missing pillows ("A dream is a wish your heart makes....when you're fast asleep") on our beds at the DLH when we check in in October.

Believe it or not, the CM actually entered that request into our reservation! So there is hope that we might get to see those pixie dust touch pillows on our beds when we enter our DLH room in October! Fingers crossed.

Now if we could just get EMH back, since we're paying an arm and a leg for our DLH rooms...eek....

Is there an official way to log a complaint in writing? You used to be able to select "Resort Feedback” from a drop-down menu on this page but I no longer see it as an option. Maybe we have to choose “General Disneyland Resort Information”?

I'd like to log official complaints regarding the lack of EMH plus the concept of paid FastPasses per attraction. I'm fine with MaxPass but if Disney rolls out the program they introduced in Paris at Disneyland, I feel the magic would steeply diminish.

Given the days of the Halloween party (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday), any speculation as to which parks would have MM/EE on which days if it did become available?

Not that I know of, but I haven't looked. I just asked the CM to log my concerns/comments/complaints as a guest of the DLH that's paying full price for the DLH but NOT getting the HUGE EMH perk that most of us are willing to pay that exorbitant price for!
He replied that he would "fill out that form for me"....whatever that means.

I was just happy that he even acted like something, ANYTHING could be officially done...instead of just responded "Yes, I understand your concerns and we are sorry."

So maybe there's hope, especially if they are hearing it from guests multiple times per day?
