We are in DL right now, have been since Friday night. It’s amazing here! The crowds are lower than anything I’ve seen in years! We went to city hall in Anaheim yesterday and did the 1 hour rapid NAAT test. It was incredibly easy. We ubered over, cost 8$. There are signs right on the front lawn directing you to the Covid testing area, which is all outside. It’s to the left of the building. There are 2 lines, one to register and one for those already booked. There was no one in line when we got there, and 3 when we left. They ask for your booking number and ask to see id, then you go stand by the area they will test you in. One person was ahead of us here. There were 3 technicians doing the testing. All super friendly, explained how the test would work, and directions to check our email in an hour. The test was no different than rapid antigen test, in the sense that they didn’t go any deeper, but they did 10 circles in each nostril, which I think was more than the RA.
Then we were done! We went to the Vons across the street to get groceries then got an Uber back to our hotel. My wife got her negative text and email while we were in the Uber -35 mins later- and I got mine back at the hotel, about 10 mins after that. So both under the hour, which was great!
I printed the test results out at the hotel to have with us, as someone posted here that having a paper copy was easier than pulling it up on your phone.
We took yesterday off to work and deal with the tests and do laundry, and now we’re heading over to California Adventure to do Webslingers! We have number 28 boarding pass, so should be about 9. The crowds are really quite lovely right now! We’ve had no problem getting into both virtual queues each day, which means you have to have your first boarding pass scanned by noon so you can get your next one. That pretty much says it all!
On Sunday ROR broke down so we left the line before we got scanned. I checked with a cast member and as long as you leave before you’re scanned, you can come back any time before they close (if it stopped working during your call back time). If you’re scanned you need to stay in line or they have no way of knowing that you haven’t ridden. So we went back at 7 that evening and was only a 10 minute wait!
Thanks to everyone for posting in here about the testing process. It was super helpful for me in planning our trip, hearing what others had done. This place really is the best source of info for DL travelling!!
