Nothing Can Stop Us Now! The End! Well almost, quick recap of Jan 22 trip! Update on April trip 4/21*

Wow! 25! I've done just a handful with either/or/both my kiddos.
I know! We have gone crazy 😝 with Disney!
I'm exhausted just reading that!
I agree, she is very busy, thank goodness all her jobs are flexible and she can still travel with her mom!
Over 6 nights?!?!?!?
Yes, not planned, it was a weird situation. I wish I would have asked at Riviera if we could have just stayed there the 6 nights, would have been perfect!
Ohhh, no...
I had that from running. Not nearly as bad as yours though. Mine was bad in the mornings (not being able to walk), but would ease off as I moved around throughout the morning.
Well… now the doctor thinks it maybe more complicated than that, have to ET a MRI today and see the foot and ankle specialist on Monday. It is the weirdest thing. Just to develop without any change in my routine or footwear! I don’t run but I walk about 3 miles every day. I’m frustrated
Definitely worse. Yikes.
How are you now?
I answered above, not great. Still limping along
3 hours away!
Hmmm... Duluth
Yes I live about 16 miles north of Duluth, towards Two Harbors. My sister lives in Maplewood so close to the airport.
I've never had TSA precheck so not sure how this works. Why was it not on your boarding pass? Is it something you need to request?
On our last trip with all 4 of us, our youngest DD had precheck and we didn't know why.
We paid for TSA precheck, it lasts 5 years and my known traveler ID was wrong on my profile I guess. Delta did get it fixed for me and I had it on my boarding pass for the flight home!
So sorry for you. That doesn't sound very much fun at all.
It was not!
Huh! I wonder if it's a result of being built after room text messages began
I’m not sure, the lobby itself is beautiful but very small!
Very nice room. I'm impressed.
I loved the room and the location. Loved watching the fireworks at night. Andi was able to synchronize the music, that was nice!
Look at that smile.
I was happy to be here despite the dumb ankle!

Love the mirror selfie!

My mom has had to rent scooters or wheelchair s ever since her arthritis started flaring up right before a Williamsburg Trip in 2018. As much as she hates using them, she does find it a huge relief to have something incase something does go wrong or she has to get off her feet for a while.
Thank you and welcome, glad to have you joining in!
I should have rented the scooter. It is just so strange because Andi and I walk everywhere and I never even get sore at Disney so this was a shock for me!

I know! We have gone crazy 😝 with Disney!
I can think of worse things to go crazy with. :)
Yes, not planned, it was a weird situation. I wish I would have asked at Riviera if we could have just stayed there the 6 nights, would have been perfect!
So... you're saying they kicked you out. Too rambunctious, huh?

I hope you get some (good) answers.

Went through Duluth a few years back. I didn't see you though.

Really! Cool!

Haha 😂 we are known to be really wild and crazy!
Went through Duluth a few years back. I didn't see you though.
Next time we need to have a Dis meet!
Really! Cool!
It is always nice to watch fireworks from your balcony than dealing with the crowds!
hope you get some (good) answers.
I sure hope so, I go on Monday.

A lovely evening.

If you guessed staying at the resort and having one of our best meals of the trip, you got it right, yay!:cheer2:

We quickly scratched MK, it was around 5pm and we decided to enjoy this wonderful resort.

I got lucky and there was a reservation at Topolinos for around 5:30pm. :thumbsup2 I had also ordered some groceries and water from Instacart which arrived at 5:10pm. We put a few things away and went up to dinner. The restaurant was one floor above us. This was so nice! We checked in and our table was ready right on time. We had a table for 4, wow things are looking up, lol 😆. The table was in a separate room and we were the only two in there, this was very nice! We started off with a cocktail and appetizer. Our waiter was wonderful, he was from Turkey. He was knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive in the right way.

I had the French Rose,
IMG_Sep92021at60919PM.jpg
Grey Goose Le Citron Vodka, Combier Crème de Pamplemousse Rose Liqueur, Raspberry, Agave, Lemon, Soda Water. This was so good. I really enjoyed this.

Andi had the Pomegranate Paradiso
IMG_Sep92021at60836PM.jpg
Figenza Vodka, Pomegranate, Lemon, Pineapple. She was happy with this. I thought it was good but liked mine better.

We also had the epi bread with delicious olive oil and we ordered the ricotta and tomato jam, this was so delicious. We were so hungry and it tasted wonderful. All the components on this plate worked so well together with the yummy bread. The combination of the mild ricotta with the balsamic and tomato jam was so delicious.
IMG_Sep92021at61004PM.jpg
Ricotta Tomato, Aged Balsamic, Cracked Pepper, Basil.

Andi had the Rigatoni it was
IMG_Sep92021at61117PM.jpg
Braised Chicken Sugo, Broccolini Rapini, Wild Mushrooms, Parmigiano-Reggiano. This was very delicious. The mushrooms in this pasta were so yummy. She gave this two thumbs up.

I had the Diver Scallops
IMG_Sep92021at61221PM.jpg
Spring Vegetable Risotto, Asparagus, Emerald Crystal Lettuce and Meyer Lemon Oil. The scallops were cooked perfectly and had a delicious flavor. I loved the asparagus and the risotto was very good. It was a little to much English peas for me but overall very tasty!

We loved our meal and service here. It was so nice! We decided to pass on dessert. Our meal was not rushed and the food was sent out in perfect intervals. It allowed us time to visit and enjoy our drinks. We took the long walk down 1 floor to our room after dinner.

It was a wonderful dinner and our 2nd favorite of this trip!
IMG_Sep92021at62115PM.jpg
Hall artwork on our floor. The artwork at the Riviera is wonderful and you can spend so much time just enjoying this and the ambiance of this resort.

We watched the fireworks from our balcony. After this we got comfortable and streamed 90 day fiancé in the Caribbean.:hyper2: My bed was very comfortable and Andi said the Murphy bed was much better than a sofa bed. Our room was very quiet. I forgot to mention that the deluxe studio has a bathtub/shower combination in the bathroom with the sink. This is really nice if sharing the room with more people. Two people can be getting ready at the same time. My ankle was happy we didn’t go to far this evening. We also picked up the wheelchair from Bell Services. Scooterbug is the only company that Disney allows to drop off rentals without you being present. This is why we went with this company. If you want to use a different company you can, you have to be present at time of delivery. The wc was newer and worked just fine. It was relatively cheap for how important it was. I paid 60 dollars.

Stay tuned for our first full day in Disney! Wow, We love the Skyliner!

Following along. Sorry about the foot/ankle issues. Several years ago I broke my foot and to this day I still have foot/ankle pain. Some days its so bad I would swear it was still broken if I didn't know better.

I got lucky
All right Caroline! Way to go!
and there was a reservation at Topolinos for around 5:30pm. :thumbsup2
That's good too!
The restaurant was one floor above us.
Convenient. :)
We had a table for 4, wow things are looking up, lol 😆.
Well, you did say you got lucky.

:rolleyes1
The table was in a separate room and we were the only two in there,
Private room. Even better!
Grey Goose Le Citron Vodka, Combier Crème de Pamplemousse Rose Liqueur, Raspberry, Agave, Lemon, Soda Water. This was so good. I really enjoyed this.
Figenza Vodka, Pomegranate, Lemon, Pineapple. She was happy with this. I thought it was good but liked mine better.
Both of those sound really good. I'd try either.
I had the Diver Scallops
Probably (of the two dishes) the one I'd have opted for. I'm a sucker for a good risotto.
It was a wonderful dinner and our 2nd favorite of this trip!
High praise!
(Unless of course all the other dinners (except one other) were awful.)
Hall artwork on our floor. The artwork at the Riviera is wonderful and you can spend so much time just enjoying this and the ambiance of this resort.
I'm thinking I need to put this resort on my list. ::yes::
After this we got comfortable and streamed 90 day fiancé in the Caribbean.:hyper2:
Which is what? You have 90 days to get engaged?
Andi said the Murphy bed was much better than a sofa bed.
Good to know. I know those sofa beds can be pretty uncomfortable.
The wc was newer and worked just fine.
I really had to stop there. I was like "WC? How very European of her to refer to the bathroom as the WC."

And then the nickel dropped.

Bummer about the injury, but I am interested to hear how it was navigating the parks via scooter for the first time. Two thumbs up from me on taking it easy at the resort after arrival! We often fly in a little later and head to Disney Springs for dinner, I've never done a WDW park on arrival day before. Everything you had at Topolino's looks so good, including both of those drinks! You two sure have good taste! Watching reality TV on vacation is so fun, and so relaxing. The Riviera seems like such a great place to stay for its location (not to mention how gorgeous it is). I can't imagine WDW without the skyliner anymore, it already feels like it's been around forever!

Hi Moira! I hope school is going well for boys! My ankle is still not back to normal and it is frustrating. We loved our room! I wish we could have stayed here the full 6 nights!
School is going well for youngest son. This is the first year he has been able to do subjects of his choosing so he is delighted to have dropped art, music, drama and H.E. He was sad to drop Irish but only had room for one language in his timetable so kept Spanish as he felt it would be more useful which to be fair is true :rotfl:
The older son managed 2 days of kids back in class ( he’s the teacher) before one of them tested positive for covid and they had to revert to online teaching (which he hates). Thankfully it was only for one day as they got the room deep cleaned over the weekend and his PCR test on day 2 came back negative. Today he is tested again so fingers crossed for a negative result. He has been doubly vaccinated so there’s that to ease worry. I officially am sick to the back teeth of coronavirus😡

We are very proud of Andi! Guess where she wants to go for her graduation trip?? :earsboy:
You should definitely be proud of Andi. What an amazing girl. That’s some achievement to hold down all those jobs and make the Dean’s list!
I take it a trip to Ireland isn’t what you’re planning for graduation:rotfl:

Toppolino's sounds like it was the perfect way to go for your first evening. I like the look of your drink and Andi's pasta (minus the mushroom-not a fan of those).
Just showed my son your fireworks photo and he sighed. Poor boy is really missing wdw mind you so is his mum

We had the same app at Topolino's and I had the rigatoni, enjoyed them both :) While the Riviera itself doesn't do anything for me, the artwork is wonderful and I like walking around a bit each time we're there to see more.

And FYI watching any version of 90 Day Fiance anywhere is the perfect end to a night lol!

Andy would love this! That is a lot of scallops!

My ankle was happy we didn’t go to far this evening. We also picked up the wheelchair from Bell Services.
I am sure your ankle was happy with the low key evening. And what a nice relaxing dinner!

I'm here and ready to follow along! Sorry to hear about the ankle. Ugh, that's the last thing you want to happen before a trip. Especially, Disney, where there's so much mobility involved. I hope the wheelchair helped!

She starts back to in person classes tomorrow. She works 3 part time jobs, she tutors Spanish to middle and high school students, she is a Teacher’s Assistant to one of her Spanish professors, and she works at a local garden shop in her college town! She is a busy girl. She has been on the Dean’s list every semester of her college career so far.
❤ You've got one amazing young woman there Caroline. You must be so proud.

Love this picture!!! You both look so happy

We had the Boo Bash scheduled for 1 night
I can't wait to see what you thought about this. We are going next week. I'm so excited.

Unfortunately, I had developed an Achilles tendinitis on Sunday 8/22. I went to bed without any problems and woke up with severe pain in my right ankle. It was bad and I was told by my doctor, I should not be going on a trip, ugh! I could barely walk.
Oh no!!!! Hoping for a pixie dusted miracle for ya

I realized it was not on my boarding pass. Ugh! This was a mistake, but, of course, they wouldn’t let me through.
Ugh I hate it when this happens. Same thing happened to me on our last trip. I get a known traveler number through work but for some reason it didn't make it to my boarding pass. And once its not there apparently they can do nothing about it

We also had the epi bread with delicious olive oil and we ordered the ricotta and tomato jam, this was so delicious. We were so hungry and it tasted wonderful.
We had this as well and it is divine!

We loved our meal and service here. It was so nice! We decided to pass on dessert. Our meal was not rushed and the food was sent out in perfect intervals. It allowed us time to visit and enjoy our drinks.
Toppolinos is such a wonderful restaurant. We ended up eating here twice on our trip in June b/c it was so dang good. Hoping to stay at the Riveria one day so we can be right there

That is some view!!!

fter this we got comfortable and streamed 90 day fiancé in the Caribbean.:hyper2:
90 day fiance Caribbean??? I didn't even know this was a thing. We cut the cord a few years ago and have no cable or streaming tv besides Disney and Netflix. Now I need this in my life.

Following along. Sorry about the foot/ankle issues. Several years ago I broke my foot and to this day I still have foot/ankle pain. Some days its so bad I would swear it was still broken if I didn't know better.
Yay, Welcome! Ugh ankle pain sucks. It really makes it hard to walk around. I have never had ankle problems before, so frustrating!
I’m sorry your ankle still bothers you. Mine is tendon related which apparently takes for ever to improve, ugh!

All right Caroline! Way to go
Haha 😂 it happens once in awhile!
Private room. Even better!
This was so nice, we still had a view out on the deck which is beautiful!
Both of those sound really good. I'd try either.
The cocktails were so delicious 🤤
Probably (of the two dishes) the one I'd have opted for. I'm a sucker for a good risotto.
This risotto was very good. I love trying different ones!
High praise!
(Unless of course all the other dinners (except one other) were awful.
We started out with some awesome meals! Only one I wouldn’t go back to even if it is popular
I'm thinking I need to put this resort on my list.
Yes, you really do! It is wonderful and really pays tribute to Walt himself!
Which is what? You have 90 days to get engaged?
No, you have 90 days to get married, it is crazy and full of drama, so up there with once you start watching you can’t look away, lol 😆 It is the K1 visa process so you know some just want to come to the good old USA!
Good to know. I know those sofa beds can be pretty uncomfortabl
Super comfortable beds and very nice rooms!
I really had to stop there. I was like "WC? How very European of her to refer to the bathroom as the WC."
Nurse abbreviation! I forget it isn’t common for everyone. I will use w/c quite a bit coming up so get your mind out of the water closet :rotfl:

I can't imagine WDW without the skyliner anymore, it already feels like it's been around forever!
Yes, it definitely was not a normal go go trip. I did a w/c should have done a scooter. It would have been easier on Andi. Our dinner was fabulous and at the time much better than heading to a Park
I loved the Riviera so much, maybe enough to buy in DVC!
We love the 90 day Fiancé franchise, oh my such drama!
I can’t believe how much we loved the Skyliner this trip! It maybe related to the low crowds!

This is the first year he has been able to do subjects of his choosing so he is delighted to have dropped art, music, drama and H.E. He was sad to drop Irish but only had room for one language in his timetable so kept Spanish as
Andi has so many opportunities with her fluency in Spanish! Irish ☘️ I bet that is a hard one to learn, I honestly didn’t know if there was an Irish language, thought it was all English with a cool accent lol 😆
The older son managed 2 days of kids back in class ( he’s the teacher) before one of them tested positive for covid and they had to revert to online teaching (which he hates). Oh boy! The school setting is a hard place right now! I agree with you, I am so sick of this virus! It has really caused such devastation in our world!
You should definitely be proud of Andi. What an amazing girl. That’s some achievement to hold down all those jobs and make the Dean’s list!
I take it a trip to Ireland isn’t what you’re planning for graduation
I would love to see Ireland, it is one of the countries I haven’t been to yet. She will pick Disney or A Latin America trip
Toppolino's sounds like it was the perfect way to go for your first evening. I like the look of your drink and Andi's pasta (minus the mushroom-not a fan of those).
This was so nice especially since I had been awake since 3:30am!
Just showed my son your fireworks photo and he sighed. Poor boy is really missing wdw mind you so is his mum
This was such a nice touch and brings the magic of Disney right to your heart! We loved watching it from here!
