Favorite Andy Griffith Episode

7916"Man in a Hurry"Bob SweeneyEverett Greenbaum & Jim FritzellJanuary 14, 1963
Businessman Malcolm Tucker (Robert Emhardt) suffers a car breakdown in Mayberry on a Sunday, and he is impatient to get it fixed in time for his meeting in Charlotte. Wally the mechanic does not work on Sundays, so Andy's family welcomes Malcolm to stay with them, and helps him remember how to slow down. (This story was voted by fans as their second-favorite of the entire series).[9]

n this backdoor pilot for the spin-off series Gomer Pyle-USMC, Gomer enlists in the Marine Corps and Andy comes along to make sure things go well with Sergeant Carter (Frank Sutton).

The series never placed lower than seventh in the Nielsen ratings, ending its final season at number one. The only other shows to end their runs at the top of the ratings are I Love Lucy (1957) and Seinfeld (1998).[4] On separate occasions, it has been ranked by TV Guide as the ninth- and thirteenth-best series in American television history.[5][6] Though neither Griffith nor the show won awards during its eight-season run, co-stars Knotts and Bavier accumulated a combined total of six Emmy Awards. The series spawned its own spin-off-- Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. (1964-1969) and a reunion telemovie, Return to Mayberry (1986).

I may have watched two or three episodes way back. I’m not sure if they were new or reruns. That show never appealed to me.

Did the show begin and/or end with Richie Cunningham skimming rocks into a pond?

Kerosene Cucumbers

The Rock--
Now here at "The Rock" we have two basic rules. Memorize them so that you can say them in your sleep. The first rule is... Obey all rules. Secondly, do not write on the walls, as it takes a lot of work to erase writing off of walls.

There are so many great episodes. It’s hard to pick just one. I have seen most of them many, many times. Aunt Bea’s pickles is a great one, for sure. The one where Opie kills a bird by accident was special. That show almost always had a good message at the end. I liked that. I miss it.

SOOOO many. Love the Fun Girls, Aunt Bee's pickles, Opie and the Spoiled kid (my son's favorite,) the 3 escaped lady convicts, when Barney 'rescues' Andy/Helen from the cave, Barney wants to be in the choir, several with Gomer-like Citizen's arrest, and the one where he gets set up w Thelma Lou's cousin, the one where Barney buys the used (lemon) car, the one where Briscoe Darling wants to marry Aunt Bea n(love when they yell out MEAT!, we joke around here w that) (also the one where they want Charlene to marry opie, ) so, so, so many. It's one of my favorite shows.
