Virgin River

Spoiler alert but season 3 felt a little too soapish for my taste. Some of the plots were so unbelievable. The one day appointment at a fertility doctor and bam results that fast! And Lilly, boy that was quick. On the otherhand, Charmaine's been pregnant forever and she's not even showing, with twins!

When they first showed Charmaine at the beginning of Season 3 and her belly was so flat, I thought she must have had the twins in the time gap between the seasons - I was shocked that she was still pregnant.

Yeah, shouldn’t she be 9 months by now?

A lot of the unbelievable plots remind me of Grey’s Anatomy, where the craziest stuff happens especially the I’m pregnant announcements and not knowing who the daddy is.

I thought the same thing about the fertility appointment. Ands the wire transfer after she got home. I'd assume it was payment upfront. Unless there's a visit for the actual appointment that was cut out? Doubtful.

Charmaine not showing, especially with twins is frustrating. Either give us more episodes per season, or fewer plots because there's too many frayed ends and stagnating details.

The fertility thing makes me nuts. It’s a months long process even if you do have stored embryos.

Lily- My MIL died two weeks after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It’s hard to diagnose and usually by the time it’s been caught it’s way too late. The people who live months/years (Patrick Swayze/Steve Jobs) are the rare exceptions.

Charmaine- Even though we’ve had three seasons it’s only been a few weeks in Virgin River time.

Since we’re discussing- Weren’t Jack and Mel broke up at the end of season 2?

This thread reminds me to put Virgin River on my binge watching list for a few weeks from now. popcorn::

I've started binge watching Virgin River. popcorn::

Is the female lead always so victimy? I really, really can't stand victimy people. :badpc:

Do the flashbacks ever stop? Or is this just part of the style of this show?

Annette O'Toole as Hope is the worst out of the bunch. Those awkward facial expressions and lip pursing! Yikes.
Hope is my least favorite character.

I haven't liked any role Annette O'Toole has done since she was Lana Lang in the Christopher Reeve/Superman movies.

Yes, Mel is a bit off-putting at first but she gets better. You have Netflix now?! What's next on your watchlist?

I don't know. I have to finish this binge to see what mood I'm in. :scratchin
Bridgerton is a must so you can see what all the fuss was about. Plus, the new season is coming soon. I also really enjoyed Derry Girls.

Edited to add: Firefly Lane, The Queen's Gambit, Emily in Paris, The Crown some more bingeworthy shows.

Thanks. This Virgin River binge might end sooner than expected. Season 2 is all over the place. Not sure if I will make it to Season 3. Everyone is a victim or villain or busybody. :headache: It's slow at times. I'm not interested in some of these characters or their storylines. Like the 19 year old niece whose being treated like she's 17.

It's definitely a soap opera. But, I used to watch soaps back when so it speaks to me. Lol.

I've watched several soaps for years. Those characters aren't victimy. These people are victimy. You know I hate victimy people. :headache:
