Will we see another sold out resort with deep incentives on March 3?

Highly unlikely any sold out resorts go on sale for a long time. March 3 gfv sales start and that will be the focus of dvc efforts

any sold out resorts going on sale will hurt gfv sales, why would dvc do anything to hurt gfv sales

I don't think so when they will be bringing VGF back for sales because, in a sense, that is a sold out resort being brought back to active sales.

I’m wondering if VGF and RIV end up being the same price. Maybe they will have a step down option.

I can't see it being AKV, it already has incentives that make it the cheapest WDW resort over 200pts. Unless they raise price in next 2 weeks of course.
I think it would have to be somewhere they have an accumulation of points. OKW would be obvious, buy up 2042 and sell 2057

No way, they'll have 3 resorts in active sales! Plus DL Tower coming down the line. They'll need to focus on steering buyers to the active sales.

AKL has a current promotion on it right now. If anything they'll just extend it.

Watch out for BCV incentives soon.

Disney ran aggressive incentives while RIV has been on sale. I don't think the arrival of VGF will cause them to pause promotions. Maybe for the initial launch, but that's about it.

It has been a sellers market since about 3rd quarter of 2020… and that makes sense. Low interest rates, trillions of dollars pumped into the US markets, and high demand for US travel in a post-COVID world.
As the fed raises interest rates and decreases liquidity in credit markets I’d expect the DVC resale market to shift back in the buyers direction. I think Disney is going to have some really difficult decisions to make over the next 2-3 years. The 2042s will be under their 20 year timeline and will begin to see valuations shrink.

I’m really interested to see what they do with the 2040 resorts. I’d pick up a contract without a moments hesitation.

I think the answer will be coming very soon. Here’s my prediction:
DVC runs a sales blitz of all 2042 resorts with a built-in incentive: only direct buyers of 2042 resorts after a certain date will have the option to extend their contract at expiration.

My prediction is in 10 years, they will stop doing anything with the 2042 resorts and contracts still owned. The resort is theirs as of January 31s, 2042 and they don't have to buy it from anyone.

What I also predict is that a few years before 2042, they will take some (if not all) of BWI and BC hotels and convert them to DVC, and begin selling as new DVC resorts, with new 50 year contracts, new point charts and of course, resale restrictions.

This way, when the current rooms expire, they can then work on renovations of those, and add them back into the new condo associations for those resorts.

There will be no extension for current owners...but I could see them giving all DVC owners, as they do now, some advance notice or incentives for buying.

This seems like one of the more plausible predictions of what happens down the road. It would definitely sell.

I don’t think they own enough BCV points to want to offer an incentive. They haven’t been ROFRing it much. It’s the only resort where the resale market is still a sellers market and there hasn’t been much available.

I might toss yc into the mix on this prediction
