March 29th, Part 1
It was a rough night at sea, with my ear plugs in, I had the best sleep of the cruise so far. We love being rocked to sleep.
We had not yet arrived to Grand Cayman when I woke up and it was nice and overcast most of the day. Crazy humid though!
Rob and I headed down to Royal Court for a light breakfast. This was where Ronny & Dean would be this morning, so that's where we went! Dean was greeting people once again, you can see him in the photo below actually.
I bought this shirt during my solo Disney trip in February. I'm not a fan of the colour but I liked the folded sleeves and loved the saying on the front. Sorry, Minnie, there really is only ONE mouse in my heart.
Most of my wardrobe consists of four main colours: blue, black, grey & purple. I'm not a big colour person, so when I put this on, both Kira and Rob said something like "Wow, I've never seen you in yellow!"
One of them is right, one of them is wrong.
We were seated in Ronny's section and we ended up being next to Mike & Diana, the lovely couple we met in the terminal.
Rob was happy because they had croissants this morning. They didn't have them in Enchanted Garden yesterday morning and well, he might die if he doesn't get his daily dose of chocolate croissants.
Rob had his usual, cream of wheat, grapefruit, but decided to skip the waffles/french toast/pancakes to save room.
I had my usual...
Ronny was kind enough to take his mask off for a quick photo.
We were talking about dinner tonight just before we left and I asked him if we were still allowed to order from a different restaurant. He said it would be no problem and to make it a little easier for him tonight, I pre-ordered. I ordered Kira and I each an entrée, both our faves.
Back to the room...we had arrived and anchored by then. We had no plans for Grand Cayman. I originally wanted to take the tender over and walk around, check out some shops, take some pics of my favourite trees but when we got on the ship and checked out our schedule, they had moved our Palo Brunch reservation from Falmouth day to Grand Cayman day. I don't know why and I completely forgot to see if we could change it back after we boarded. I asked Kira and Rob if they were okay with skipping Grand Cayman and both were more than okay with it. Taking the tender was kind of a pain and we had been here many times before. We've swam with the stingrays 3 times before, been to the turtle farm, beach, shopping areas. I do love Grand Cayman, but I was okay skipping it too, especially since it was super humid today.
Kira had taken over our bed and was starting to get hungry and we were out of cookies.
So, I called room service and ordered her some more.
When I called, they also asked about our Platinum gift and since we don't drink and we can get fruit all over the ship, we chose the truffles, as usual.
Kira ate her cookie breakfast, Rob read on the verandah and I hopped in the shower. Up next was Palo brunch! Kira went and did some mid-ship detective agency on her own so that Alain could clean our room.
Rob asked what Remy was, told him it was not for us. Once he looked at the menu, he agreed.
We would be going the other way. And honestly, even Palo is too fancy for my liking.
I go because Rob enjoys it but I would be happier eating chicken strips in my room watching a movie.
There's hidden mickeys on the plate.
I got me a fancy diet coke.
Our server took a photo of us and then started walking away.
I guess he decided it was too people-y and took this shot for us.
It was a little different from Palo on the Wonder a few months ago. If you wanted muffins or croissants, you had to order it from your server. I asked for a plain croissant, which had come in our bread basket on the Wonder, but they didn't have any so I ordered an almond croissant and brushed off the almonds LOL! I like almonds but on their own.
Rob ordered a muffin.
And here's our bread basket...
I got my usual, celery soup!
And Rob got his favourite, the tomato soup.
Rob also got the seafood appetizer.
I got the lasagna, which I didn't actually care for. It was so much better on the Wonder.
Rob got the apple cinnamon waffle.
We were both full so we only ordered one dessert and even then, only had a bite each. So pretty though!
Our server came out with another plate and said the chef wouldn't allow us to leave without having one more plate. I thought it was another dessert and was thankful when I saw that it wasn't.
Before leaving, we checked out the Meridian Bar and the outside decks.
If I was still a smoker, this is where I would come! Comfy and quiet!
The other side...
We also checked out the fancy bathrooms here. I checked to make sure no one was in it before I took the photo.
As we were heading back to our room, Kira texted us that someone had dropped off a gift to our room.
It was from Guest Services, not sure why we got it, maybe because we changed rooms?
Kira enjoyed the rice krispies Mickey ears and wore the cute ears. She had them on backwards here, ooops! We took the popcorn home, they still haven't gotten to it yet.
We just chilled in our room until dinner time. I think we watched part of a movie together.
Next up, dinner!
