Deluxe Resort - What are the Perks

So what are the perks of staying in a Deluxe resort vs. the other kinds?

I know there is Extended Hours (occasionally!)

Anything else?

Nothing really
Bigger rooms I suppose?
They have CL services, but they cost more, but even there CSR has that so it's in the Mods too, so not Deluxe only
They have Valet, but they cost
Guess really Valet but again, it's an added fee item
I know of nothing else but Extended hours that is without additional cost

The Deluxe hotels have more dining options, but none of the perks one would think of at a normal deluxe hotel, which is sad, especially with the prices.

Most of the hotels rooms in deluxe open to inside halls rather than the outside elements, like the moderates and values.

Some of the resorts also offer additional crafts and activities, at low to no costs

No, those are not really Deluxe only things.
Dining is the same between Mod and Deluxe, some Mods have more than some Deluxe actually
Mods have pool bars, TS and QS
Deluxe have pool bars, TS and QS
CSR, a Mod, has inside entrance rooms in the tower
As does AoA Family suites. Value resort

CSR = Coronado Springs Resorts (Moderate Resort ) …also considered a Convention Resort and recently added the Grand Destino Tower. This “moderate resort “ is very very nice. They have a rooftop bar and a restaurant . Also recently added on to the bridge walkway and 3 walkways join together with another very nice restaurant with outdooor bar seating called Three Bridges .
At night, this resort is beautiful to walk around. Plus benches on the bridges is a nice added touch for enjoyment.
Strange that a bench is a luxury nowadays but with Disney removing all the benches in front of the Castle, etc… I appreciate a bench wherever I can find it and must sit to enjoy .

Removing benches in front of Castle and rockers near Hall of Presidents , etc…
Also No tram service for long walk from MK , Epcot, to parked cars on blacktop tar in summer sunshine = Truly evil

Club Level--free food (continental breakfast with later snacks and finger foods) 3-4 times daily; free sodas, beers and wine coolers throughout the day with wines and liqueurs in the evening; restricted access to CL floors; additional services such as package pickup from the parks; more elaborately decorated rooms in some instances, etc.

My main reason for booking a deluxe resort is location. Extended hours are nice but occasionally change (they have switched Epcot and MK nights on some holiday weeks). CL is nice but has been running an extra $200-300 per night over a std deluxe room price.

Yes location is one reason for sure but theming of the resort and grounds is another one.

Along with location, they typically offer better transportation as well, rather than just relying on busses.

Contemporary and GF you can walk to MK or take the monorail.
Poly you have the monorail to MK but can also walk to the TTC for the monorail to Epcot.
BC, YC, and BW you can walk to Epcot and HS or take the boats, can also walk to the skyliner.
WL has the boat to MK.

If one can afford them, then it is just the absolute themed magic and hustle bustle of the large lobbys, sit down and some signature restaurants, concierge floors, and everything else mentioned above;

Some of the value resorts seem better themed than the deluxe.

I think location, transportation, and dining are the main differences. There are three reasons I own DVC at BLT and BWV: location, location, location.

Deluxe resorts offer more options as well as larger rooms and overall nicer rooms as well as better locations and nicer grounds. Yes many of the service are pay although there are free ones as well. The extra paid services do not have to be used and many don’t but a lot do…. I guess the best comparison comes with buying a car. Base level is the car with basic to Many options included depending on the model. Moderate would would offer a decent amount of options making most happy and arguable the best value. The top line would offer options you may not need but find yourself using and enjoying but there is a price and services that come with a free trial that if you want to keep you will need to pay. I mean with one if my current free trials I can press a button while driving speak to a live person and they will program my GPS for me remotely. Who doesn’t need that

Trams are back at MK and DAK. Other parks still TBD....

I think there are differences in the swimming pools. IIRC:
Value resorts - swimming pools, themed but otherwise “just a pool”
Moderate resorts - themed pools with slides
Deluxe resorts - themed pools with slides and hot tubs

IMO, if you're interested in what WDW considers a deluxe resort then price out the Dolphin. JMO.

What I think this thread highlights is the reason why they HAD to make extended evening hours deluxe only. The needed SOMETHING to point to as the reason to go deluxe.

But sadly, it's only at two of the parks, and only once a week. Which is pathetic as far as I'm concerned for what they're charging for Deluxe rooms.
