There's Always Too Much Sauce - A July 2022 TR *Updated 3/23

If there were a record for most updates leading up to a Disney trip report, I'm pretty sure I would be the winner. So sorry, everyone, for taking so long to get to the good stuff. Next update, I promise!

July 7th and 8th, Part 1

When one finishes an international flight and travels through multiple time zones, the best course of action is to immediately rest and orient yourself into your new surroundings. Since that meant Alex, myself, and co. were arriving at my MIL’s house at 8:30 at night, we should have unpacked and gone right to sleep.

We should have….

Unfortunately, part of the reason we were in Florida in July was because Alex’s brother was turning 40, and everyone decided to throw a big party for him.

So inside the house our little jetlagged selves moved, where we were greeted my Mimi (the MIL), Alex’s brother, Alex’s sister, and Alex’s other sister. With them were his aunt and cousin. And his brother in-law. And a VERY excited 3 year old niece. And a 9 month old nephew we had not had the pleasure to meet yet.

There was a lot of swaying on our feet and yawning, but we managed to do it. We visited and chatted until 10 o’clock, in which someone (I think it was the aunt) had the good sense to say, “Let’s let them go to bed, they’re exhausted!”
:worship:

Much to the 3 year old niece’s disappointment, Landon and Evie crashed immediately. They were all bunking together, and I’m pretty sure she had grand plans of staying up late and causing mischief.

Little did she know of Evie’s love of sleep.

Before her love of snack food comes her adoration of rest. My girl loves nothing more than a good night’s sleep in her own bed. On school mornings, I go into her room and wake her and leave the light on and sheets thrown off.

Still she slumbers on.

It’s not until Alex goes in 10-15 minutes later and physically picks her up and plops her unceremoniously on the floor does she awaken from her slumber.

She was our gift after Landon. The universe said,
“Here, you have suffered through sleepless nights long enough. Have a good sleeper.”

And we have thanked the universe since.

Fortunately, our non-sleeper was so tired from his exciting excursion with the airline seats and the airport’s trashcan that even he did not stir until six the following morning.

For one of the first times ever since flying international, we all seemed to sleep well and adjust to our new time zone.

Hooray!!!

There’s a first time for everything.

This first day of vacation was a busy one, what with birthday cake and pool time and puppy cuddles.

01.JPG

There’s nothing more fun than enjoying a 10 month old Goldendoodle without any of the responsibility of ownership. I got to pet and walk this little gem and let her mom (Mimi) handle the drama when she snuck off with the paper from a birthday card envelope.

Ahh, that’s the life.

There were also puzzles and card games and a clay creation from Landon:

02.JPG

I present a Kion figurine.
Toy for reference.

Now, I’m sure many of you readers are shocked I haven’t brought up
THE INCIDENT yet.

You remember the one?

Involving a certain set of tickets and their lack of presence in our bags.

Don’t worry.

Amidst the sugar and the sunscreen and the salty doggie kisses, those tickets were on our minds.

Kind of hard to ignore a potentially disastrous mistake.

Early on in the day, on visit number 1 to the pool, Alex borrowed his sister’s phone and called Shades of Green. He basically begged them to give him some direction.

By this point, we had signed on to our MDE app and saw that we had the tickets linked. We just needed Shades to reassure us that we wouldn’t need to activate them, like we have had to do in the past.

The person on the other end of the line said the Disney tickets were fine. No issue.

It was the Universal ones that could be iffy.

Because the “tickets” were just a printed sheet of paper with a barcode attached, there wasn’t anything official about them. Unfortunately, the Shades representative said there was no way of knowing if Universal would accept the ticket numbers we had scanned into the app before our trip or not.

It was going to be a gamble.

Oh boy.

Personally, I wanted to let the fear and worry wash over me and have a full blown panic attack. But being around half a dozen family members, four of them little kids who wanted my attention, put a damper on my stress.

No time to freak out, you gotta go play Candyland. Get to it, Auntie Alicia.

Turn that frown upside down and hop in the pool for some Marco Polo.

Really, there was nothing to be done at that time.

We “should” have our Disney tickets squared away, and that was our first set of theme parks, anyway. Alex and I agreed that we would go do Disney and figure out Universal down the road.

Take one hurdle at a time.

What a crazy concept.

My husband is so wise.
I knew he was a keeper.
::yes::

*****

Naturally, on the day we were to check in to our AirBnB and officially start our Disney portion of the trip, the four of us were excited and anxious to get going.

Naturally, that meant we left about two hours later than we planned.:rolleyes2

Good grief.

That’s the joy of trying to break away from family, friends. First, we had to use water balloons that were bought and forgotten about the previous day. Then, we had to wait for individuals to return from a late lunch so we could say goodbye. And let’s not forget we promised to walk the puppy one more time and little feet insisted on tagging along.

Poor Alex’s eye was twitching by the time we got in the car and discovered we wouldn’t be arriving at our rental house until 5 o’clock.

Yikes.

But that’s no so bad. We can make that work.

Oh, foolish, foolish girl.

Someone – and by that I mean
ME – didn’t look at where the AirBnB was located, nor take into consideration the time of day we would be traveling to said destination.

In case you all were wondering….driving on 192 during rush hour is a terrible idea.

There’s so many lights and places to merge and people cutting across lanes.

Who needs a relaxing start to a trip?
Alex and I prefer to take the hardest route possible.
Gets the ol’ ticker pumping. Makes sure we’re alive and alert.

Because our choices were working out so well up to this point, we decided to make a last minute decision and go to the Publix near our neighborhood along the way.

Ever since I moved overseas, I am a little fascinated about American grocery stores. There’s just SO MANY SELECTIONS.

I love that if I want goldfish crackers I can pick regular, extra cheddar, Mickey shaped, jumbo sized, etc.

(We picked princess, by the way.)

All this to say, I probably spent way too long in the grocery store. I had a list, but is a list really adequate when you get five selections per item written down?

Then again, I remember reaching the fresh produce aisle and the eggs and being sorely disappointed. When I’m feeling like Evie and need a snack-binge, sure American stores are the clear winner.

But nothing beats European fruits and veggies. And egg sizes.

There, I said it.

I’m ready for the backlash.

Since we dropped a ridiculous amount of money on food, it would be logical to assume we’d take the items straight home and cook ourselves a nice, healthy dinner.

But who wants to cook after spending an hour looking at and selecting groceries?!?

Not me, that’s for sure.

I made Alex pull into a Taco Bell drive through and grab us some quick, sodium-ladden food to go.

I love Taco Bell.

Yeah, I said it.
This update is just full of risky topics.

Besides serving me tortillas and cheese, two necessary food groups for me, Taco Bell is cheap. The four of us can walk away for under twenty bucks, and knowing we were about to be going to Disney….I needed the monetary win.

So with groceries in the trunk, kids buckled in the back, and piping hot tacos in my lap, I ussured Alex onwards to our AirBnB. It was time to see our home for the next ten days!

Up Next…We Were Due for Some Good Luck

Oh no! Now I am waiting for the next update.

My daughter Meredith is now 26, married, and a Mary Poppins-sequel Montissori teacher. But when she was 5, you could not get into her room for all the Disney plushes, from back in the day when they were 6 inch adorable sets. Pirates, and safari and haunted mansion. And the Pluffies. Which were what I could get at an airport gift shop when returning from a business trip, and hostage to a gift as the Re-entry ticket. A. Lot. Of. Pluffies. They lived in a sliding wire basket.

5 year old Meredith had an evil twin, Dithemer. Dithemer showed up a lot. And she was, well, evil. One time I said, “Dithemer, you must go to your room, and Meredith can come out when she is back.”

She came out 10 minutes later and I said, “Hello, Meredith. I missed you.”

She said, “It’s Dithemer. Meredith is dead. I killed her. And then I sawed her into bits, and put her in the drawer with the Pluffies.”

To be honest, I went and checked.

Ever since I moved overseas, I am a little fascinated about American grocery stores. There’s just SO MANY SELECTIONS.
I LOVE American grocery stores! Honestly they’re like a theme park all on their own lol. This last trip we got to visit CVS ( not a grocery store but new to us) on the 4th of July (instead of AK I might add 😢) and Matty and I were amazed at the range of drugs you could buy without prescription plus they sold booze and chocolate too. I mean it was a real 1-stop-shop🤣🤣
I always loved visiting Goodings in Lake Buena Vista when we stayed in that area but I think it’s gone now. Haven’t stayed down there in over a decade so it’s been a while. Family friends of ours say no trip is complete without aWalmart visit 🤣

When I’m feeling like Evie and need a snack-binge, sure American stores are the clear winner.
Totally agree
But nothing beats European fruits and veggies. And egg sizes.
Clearly I haven’t been paying attention on my USA grocery trips- do you not have egg sizes?
I love Taco Bell.
Deprived child here - I have never been to a Taco Bell. Must rectify that some day.
Yeah, I said it.
This update is just full of risky topics.

Oh man, I'm still on the edge of my seat. I appreciate Alex's zen, but I would have been taking that rental car over to Disney and Universal ASAP to get a definitive answer. The stress would have been way worse than rush hour traffic!!!

Sounds like your first day with your in-laws was fun and (semi) relaxing! Can't wait to hear about your home-away-from-home!

I know that feeling all too well! After an 18 hour road trip to our cottage in PEI each summer, the whole family would be there to welcome us. While I was happy to see them, all I wanted was to sleep.....

I love babies who sleep. Jack was my good sleeper but the twins did not believe in sleep. That was for other babies.

Oh my goodness! You are jumping right in to the deep end of the pool!
I made Alex pull into a Taco Bell drive through and grab us some quick, sodium-ladden food to go.

There is a reason Taco Bell is cheap...that's all I am going to say. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Your first few days were busy but I'm sure you enjoyed seeing all your family. But, I would have been anxious to get to the AirBnB! Can't wait to see pictures! Since you had your Universal ticket numbers, I hope it was an easy fix. Must happen all the time. I'll be watching for your arrival at your home away from home!

But when she was 5, you could not get into her room for all the Disney plushes,

At what age did she finally ditch the plushies? I keep waiting and instead of them growing out of the phase, we just keep adding more.

Matty and I were amazed at the range of drugs you could buy without prescription plus they sold booze and chocolate too. I mean it was a real 1-stop-shop

Haha, I didn't realize most medicines were behind counters until I needed something from Boots. Then I was like, wait, I've got to go talk to someone to get this?!

Family friends of ours say no to is complete without aWalmart visit

It's uniquely American, that's for sure.

Clearly I haven’t been paying attention on my USA grocery trips- do you not have egg sizes?

American eggs do come in sizes, but they are all small. Their "large" eggs are probably our mediums. And whereas our eggs have nice, dark orange yolks, Americans are light yellow. (Which I've read means the chickens here eat a healthier diet.)

And brown eggs cost almost twice as much in the states.
I remember the first time I went home for a visit, I went to make eggs at my mom's house and tried to pick up an egg and ended up completely destroying it in the carton. I was used to really tough shells and forgot American eggs are super fragile and will break at the slightest touch.

I have never been to a Taco Bell.

Probably for the best. :rotfl: If given the choice, Moe's or Chipotle or Tijuana Flats are much better quality chain Tex-mex restaurants.

Oh man, I'm still on the edge of my seat. I appreciate Alex's zen, but I would have been taking that rental car over to Disney and Universal ASAP to get a definitive answer. The stress would have been way worse than rush hour traffic!!!

If it hadn't been his brother's birthday and so many family members were in town for the event, we might've left to go see. But the people pleaser in me didn't want to ditch everyone and cause hurt feelings. A regular visit, though? Oh yes, we would've been there at opening.

Sounds like your first day with your in-laws was fun and (semi) relaxing! Can't wait to hear about your home-away-from-home!

I was grateful we had the opportunity to visit with so many family members while back in the states. We honestly couldn't believe we'd managed to get the four kids (Alex and his siblings) and the cousins (Landon and Evie and co.) all together. Seems so hard now that everyone's grown up and living their own lives.

I know that feeling all too well! After an 18 hour road trip to our cottage in PEI each summer, the whole family would be there to welcome us. While I was happy to see them, all I wanted was to sleep.....

It's a battle for sure. The need for sleep is immense, but the excitement from seeing loved ones keeps you going.

I love babies who sleep. Jack was my good sleeper but the twins did not believe in sleep. That was for other babies.

Oh no, neither twin? I can't imagine. I know how difficult one non-sleeper was, I don't want to think about two. My friend has twin daughters (her 3rd and 4th kids) and I remember the first time we babysat for them. The girls were about 3 months old, and they took turns sleeping. We'd get one down for a nap, and the other would wake up. I ended up taking a nap, myself, after their parents picked them up. I told my friend afterwards, "Moms of twins are superheroes."

Whenever we start a Disney trip at Alex's mom's house, it's a constant struggle of, how early do we leave. We want to make sure we're not rude at head out at first light, but we also want to get to our next destination and settle in.

PREACH!!!

When I pregnant with Landon, we lived down the street from a Taco Bell, and I ate more Crunch Wrap Supremes than I care to admit. :rotfl:

July 8th, Part 2

Let’s check out our AirBnB, shall we?

I’ve been writing trip reports for 12 years now. This means I understand the importance of photography. I know the drill.

You walk into your accommodations.

You take all the pictures.

It’s how it works.

::yes::

So, naturally, I forgot to take a single picture, and these are all from the following morning. I walked out of my room, into the kitchen, spotted my camera, and yelled, “I forgot to take pictures of the house!”

Alas, my record for failures is becoming embarrassingly long.

Just imagine these photos are from the evening time. I assure you the mess was still there. My kids aren’t at home unless they clutter a place. Can’t feel too comfortable unless they’ve set their water bottle down on a random countertop and forgotten about it. Or left a door open that shouldn’t be. Or placed a shoe right in the middle of a walkway.

Kids’ detritus means home.

The AirBnB we booked for this trip was a four bedroom house, with a pool, dining room, and game room in the garage.

It was also one story, which I love in Florida. The upstairs rooms always stay hot in Central Florida.

This was the main living space. My sister in-law pointed out that she liked that there were two full couches in the living room, as opposed to one and two armchairs, and I have to agree that was really convenient. However, there were no overhead lights!

01.JPG

And here is the kitchen:

02.JPG

I spent most of my time in this room, which I expected to happen. That’s one of the things I love most about AirBnBs, full access to cookware. This house actually had two coffeemakers, a Keurig and a drip pot. And completely stocked shelves. There was even a crockpot, which came in handy later on in the trip.

I also really appreciated having two tables. The four of us ate breakfast in the kitchen, but broke out the real table when more people were over visiting.

Also, off the right of the breakfast nook was the laundry room and garage/game room. Most mornings, the kids would scarf down their food and make a beeline to that room.

Due to my forgetful photography, I only took photos of two of the four bedrooms.

The master:

03.JPG

And the smallest room:

04.JPG

The second bedroom was next door to the master and both were at the back of the house. That was the room Landon slept in until my mom took it over. Then the Star Wars room (pictured above) and the third bedroom were at the front of the house next to the front door, along with a guest bath.

Evie took the third room until my brother and SIL arrived, then both kids moved to the Star Wars room.

Once unpacked, fed, and settled, Alex wanted to head back out.

No sitting still for him!

He was on Disney property!

Uhm, well….he was NEXT to Disney property!

It was past time we hit up our traditional first stop of every trip.

Disney Springs!

I’m not sure how this came about, but Alex and I began dropping by the Springs before checking into our resorts. Normally, we grabbed Earl of Sandwich and pin traded, but just like the name of the shopping district, we have tweaked our plans over the years.

Now if I enter Disney Springs, there’s one place I must go to, no matter the line.

And if Alex was insisting we keep up with tradition and drive over to Disney Springs, I was completely fine with that.

Besides, we both wanted peace of mind.

::yes::

Alex and I were not going to show up to Walt Disney World the following morning with only the Shades of Green employees word that everything was fine.

We needed substantial proof.

So off to the Springs we drove!

The area was busy, but I was expecting worse. Especially since it was a Friday night in the summer with no storms nearby. Alex found a parking spot with ease, and we were through bag check in just a few minutes. My purse did get dinged, the first of many before a guard told me what was setting it off.

Through the lines and off the stairs, we had made it!

“What’s the first order of business?” Alex asked me.

Cake.

Cake is the first order of business.

I needed my favorite sugar fix. The only reason I go to Disney Springs, really.

It was time to get in line for Gideon’s Bakehouse.

05.JPG

The theme of the month was orange, which is exactly the flavor combo I hate. Fruit and chocolate just don’t do it for me. During Christmastime, Alex loves the chocolate orange balls that are sold in stores here.

I despise them.

They are two different flavor combos! I either want something fruity or I want something chocolatey. Not both at the same time!

Don’t put raspberry in my doughnuts or in my cakes.

The only exception to this rule is lemon.

Lemon is tart and sweet enough that it blends with the richness of desserts.

So, needless to say, I was not going to be trying any orange pecan cookies.

But that was all right. It left more room for the treats I DID want to get.

As we were standing in line (it took about thirty minutes to get through) the worker who was handing out the menus hung around and chatted for a few minutes. Alex asked him what cakes were available this day, and the gentleman told us the best news ever.

My peanut butter cup cake was behind the counter.

“You seriously just made my day, good sir.”

I think he was a little embarrassed by my praises.

But he didn’t understand!

We had been having a slew of bad luck, one thing after another being messed up. All on our account.

But this. THIS was our turning point. Of all the nights we could have come to Gideon’s, it was during the time my absolute favorite dessert on property was being sold.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Jeez, people, simmer down. Don’t you have Instagram?

We looked at the employee like he had two heads.

Can you not tell, young blood, that we are past the point of being able to keep up with trends and popular apps? Myself and my husband are about as modern as your own mother. I amaze myself with my ability to navigate the My Disney Experience App.

So do we have Instagram?

Not until that night.

When the sweet kid walked Alex and I through the understanding that since the cake flavors rotate every day, Gideon’s posts their monthly schedule on their social media account. That way it’s well known and people can plan their trips accordingly.

Why not keep the rotation the same every month, I don’t know.

They like to make life complicated for people like me, who forget standards aren’t set and menu items can change frequently.

Then again, Gideon’s is on Disney property. And if there’s a company that likes to complicate things, it’s them. Disney probably loves their system.

:rolleyes2

Change it twice a month, just to mess with their brains...

This was the first time the kids went inside Gideon’s and they were a little scared of the pictures on the walls. My sweet little children, they have a zero fear tolerance. Landon got scared at Turning Red. They just couldn’t understand why everyone had to have such large eyes and vampire teeth.

Whereas Alex and I, who grew up on Jurassic Park and Godzilla and Tim Burton, love the store. Alex takes the menus and hangs them up in his office, because he enjoys the look of them.

Fortunately, the line moves quick once you’re inside and pretty soon you get to drool over the display cases:

06.JPG

Look at that cake!

If there’s one thing that can make the deliciousness of the cake taste even better, it is Gideon’s peanut butter cold brew.

More milkshake than coffee, this drink is the perfect blend of peanut butter and oat milk, and the only downside to them is how quickly they go down. If I’m not careful, I can demolish a cup in a couple sips.

But, really, look at this perfection:

07.JPG

When I got it last summer, I was the only one who got to enjoy it. Unfortunately for me this time around, Landon and Evie and Alex all took sips and realized what I knew all along. The cold brew was divine.

So my little cup of heaven ended up being split four ways.

The things you do for love, am I right?

With the coffee and cake business taken care of, it was time to get serious.

We needed to go to Guest Services and beg the Cast Member to let our ticket numbers on the app work.

When we got to the building, they asked me and the kids to go sit on a bench while Alex talked to a representative. That left me with the coffee, so I was fine with that.

More for me.

Less than five minutes later and Alex walked up to me and kids holding out these bad boys:

08.JPG

HALLELUJAH!!!!

:worship:

The Shades employee was right. Since we had to get the tickets registered on the MDE app and linked to park pass reservations, we were good to go. I’m not sure why in the past we have always had to activate the tickets and this time they were fully functional, but I wasn’t questioning anything.

They were good to go, which meant WE were good to go.

It wasn’t until that moment that I breathed a sigh of relief and really believed we’d be able to enter the parks the following morning.

Whew.

Okay.

We’ve got coffee. We’ve got chocolate. We’ve got tickets.

Let’s get this vacation started!!!!

That was the moment I felt it, the beginnings of vacation. I was able to look around me, take in the other guests enjoying the warm evening, see the displays in all the shop windows, hear the Disney music piped through the speakers, and realize that I was back.

Three years away no more.

I was back in the Disney bubble.

How glorious.

And since we were there, Alex and I figured we would pop into a few shops, maybe see if we could find MagicBands we liked.

The World of Disney was a madhouse. I walked in, felt the claustrophobia, and immediately said, “Nope,” and walked back out.

The Coop, however, was not so hectic.

Evie found herself a carousel horse:

09.JPG

Someone was ready for the Magic Kingdom…

I always enjoy looking at the artwork in this store.

10.JPG

Someday, when we have our forever home, I’ll bring Alex back to the store and we’ll pick out some pieces for our home. Right now, though, with as much moving as we do, anything we buy would likely get damaged or packed away.

Back when we told the kids they could get a MagicBand (without using their own money, a huge differentiation) Landon said he wanted a Lion King band. Him and his sister watched the entire Lion Guard series while they were sick with
the illness that shall not be named, and he was on a Lion King kick. (Still is, actually.)

I tried to warn him that the odds of finding a Lion King band were near zero, but he didn’t listen.

And wouldn’t you know.

Inside Pin Traders was a green MagicBand with grubs all over it and Timon and Pumbaa front and center.

The boy managed to do it. He found himself the band he wanted.

There ain’t nothing worse than being proved wrong. And it stings a thousand times worse when it’s your kid doing the victory chant. :rotfl:

“Okay, okay, you were right. They did have a Lion King band. Settle down and stop your dancing.”

Evie, meanwhile, was on the lookout for a Star Wars band and was not in love with what she was seeing. So we advised her to wait until we were in Hollywood Studios and peruse their selection.

With Landon sporting his new band and me carrying our Gideon’s treasure, it was time to head home and get ready for bed. It was Disney Eve, and we needed to make sure we were nestled all snug in our beds, dreaming of Genie + reservations and snacks to be had.

Up Next: I Still Don’t Like This Very Much!

HALLELUJAH!!!!

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, one down, one to go. I am so darn glad that this half worked out easily.

There ain’t nothing worse than being proved wrong. And it stings a thousand times worse when it’s your kid doing the victory chant.

And boy do they rub it in.! Just once, I'd like to act as smug when I'm right about something. Except, you know, I've been on this planet 27 years longer, so I have a little more knowledge under my belt...

For what it's worth, I barely took any room or food photos this trip. I did remember time stamp photos, and tons of pictures of the kids, but pics that would just be for the TR are severely lacking.

Finally things are looking up for you guys. Evie looks just gorgeous beside her horse🥰

ETA I had no idea USA & UK eggs were so different. Learn something new every day 👍

I am going to have to try Gideon's when we go next year. Those cakes look awesome. I am glad to see things turning around on this trip.

Oh Landon!! He did have to rub it in a bit didn’t he? I do love that feeling of exactly what you hoped for though. :)

Officially the best feeling ever!!!! So glad it all worked out! ❤️

Evie started crying because she wanted to sit next to me. We had to start implementing a take turn system. One ride with one kid, the next with the other.
Alternating is a good way to go.

I can definitely see Evie going to Disney just for the food when she's older.
I don't see anything wrong with that.

Here lately, my kids have been bad about walking right past Alex to ask me to do something. Usually when I'm in the middle of a task, too. And Alex just has to stop them and say, "I'm LITERALLY right here. Why couldn't you ask me?
That is literally my biggest pet peeve. Granted my girls are big enough now that they get alot of that stuff them selves now. Strange I know!!! But Gwen will wait to ask me instead of Andy. She says I just do it better. Sigh...

I thought about bringing shorts, but we only brought backpacks and there wasn't a lot of space left in them. Why we didn't grab shorts after we retrieved our bags, though, I don't know. Exhaustion muddled my brain.
We cracked open our suitcases in the airport a few times as well! Exhaustion brain is real, though!

It’s not until Alex goes in 10-15 minutes later and physically picks her up and plops her unceremoniously on the floor does she awaken from her slumber.
Wow that is a heavy sleeper!

For one of the first times ever since flying international, we all seemed to sleep well and adjust to our new time zone.

Hooray!!!

There’s a first time for everything.
It probably helped that you stayed up. As hard as it was.

I present a Kion figurine. Toy for reference
Good Job!

It was going to be a gamble.
Yikes!

Then, we had to wait for individuals to return from a late lunch so we could say goodbye.
This would have driven me crazy!!! I would have been dyeing inside.

love that if I want goldfish crackers I can pick regular, extra cheddar, Mickey shaped, jumbo sized, etc.
(We picked princess, by the way.)
Good choice

But nothing beats European fruits and veggies. And egg sizes.

There, I said it.

I’m ready for the backlash.
I won't judge, as I have no point of reference. But I can see why that would be.

But who wants to cook after spending an hour looking at and selecting groceries?!?
Monsters! That who!

Up Next…We Were Due for Some Good Luck
I hope so!!!

So, naturally, I forgot to take a single picture, and these are all from the following morning. I walked out of my room, into the kitchen, spotted my camera, and yelled, “I forgot to take pictures of the house!
Ha! Don't you hate that. It happens to all of us at some point. There is always one meal where I forget.

Alex and I were not going to show up to Walt Disney World the following morning with only the Shades of Green employees word that everything was fine.

We needed substantial proof.
I don't blame you for that!

My peanut butter cup cake was behind the counter.

“You seriously just made my day, good sir.”
Amazing start to the hopefully turn of events!

My sweet little children, they have a zero fear tolerance. Landon got scared at Turning Red. They just couldn’t understand why everyone had to have such large eyes and vampire teeth.
Morgan got scared of Princess and the Frog, but not for the obvious reasons.... For some reason she cried when the frog got stuck in the tuba at the beginning. She also cried at the Winter Fairy Tinkerbell movie when she thought that the whole area was going to stay frozen forever.

But your kids aren't afraid of Harry Potter?!?! How does that work.

Less than five minutes later and Alex walked up to me and kids holding out these bad boys:

YEAH!!!! And the golden statue ones!

We’ve got coffee. We’ve got chocolate. We’ve got tickets
Sounds like a perfect combo!

Inside Pin Traders was a green MagicBand with grubs all over it and Timon and Pumbaa front and center.
YEAH!!!! More good luck!

Alas, my record for failures is becoming embarrassingly long.

I don't think they are failures. Could you be suffering for "the illness that shall not be named" brain fog?

Less than five minutes later and Alex walked up to me and kids holding out these bad boys:

Best news ever!

That was the moment I felt it, the beginnings of vacation. I was able to look around me, take in the other guests enjoying the warm evening, see the displays in all the shop windows, hear the Disney music piped through the speakers, and realize that I was back.

Vacay has started!

WHOO HOO- you have tickets! I really need to try that Cold Brew next time I'm on property! The line always intimidates me, so we pass it by...
