Tony Hinds

Thank you! I’ll check them out. It’s really too bad about Tony. I would really have preferred to stick with him but I need to get something booked.
Same boat. I had contacted him many months ago, he had emailed me back and told me to fill out the form at that time (which was a google doc), and then it was radio silence. I emailed him a few weeks ago to confirm we were good for our Thanksgiving trip and ask for an invoice, I haven't heard anything.

I ended up booking Tiffany Towncar. I'll email Tony to let him know I found alternative transportation, because I would feel awful if someone showed up and texted me that they were there to pick us up. I needed to secure transportation and couldn't risk waiting any longer.

I too just got an email from someone not named tony hinds referring the site and how I have to fill out a registration form. I have had numerous replies from tony saying everything is set to now see this when trip is a few days away has me concerned. I replied back stating as much but so far no reply. The site DOES come up but no where on the site does it reference Tony hind, when I do a search on the name that emailed me on these boards I get no results. When i do a google search I only get a few results including what looked like a Chinese facebook page
The non tony hinds individual did reply to an email that I only sent/replied to previously with only Tony’s gmail account. So it wasn’t a random email just fyi

I emailed Tony back a few days ago to let him know that we had already booked with Tiffany Towncar & to please cancel, since I hadn’t heard anything after multiple attempts to reach him. Only at that point did I get a reply from Tony’s email, and it was from a person named Riland Cenatus. He replied to say we were confirmed & he would send an invoice. I emailed him back to tell him to please cancel, we booked & paid elsewhere.

Did Tony go into business with Riland? No idea. I’m definitely glad we booked with another company, because I have no idea who Riland is and no idea what’s going on.

That is the same name that emailed me as well. I sadly may have to follow suit as you did

They may very well be legitimate and working together, I just feel it should have been communicated better.

I found Tiffany Towncar’s online reservation form easy to use and I received a prompt email quote and a second email confirmation once I paid. I’m hopeful the transportation experience with them will be good too. I’ve read good reviews on disboards.

I’m sorry you’re in this boat, too. I understand your frustration wholeheartedly.

We just got back from Universal. We used "Tony Hinds" but also communicated with Riland Cenatus. Then someone named "Juste" called and texted us before our flight to MCO and said he would be our driver. I'm not sure who he was. We were picked up outside and he just said "the white van." I think it was Riland. ???? He barely spoke to us. I'm just glad we got to the hotel alive.

I had emailed with Tony prior to our trip. Or at least they signed the emails Tony. Then Riland started replying to the emails. No more Tony.

I also got phone calls to confirm right after I had email discussions confirming our trip. It was all very confusing.

They also had the wrong date. They said the previous Sunday's date as our return to MCO date and I was like "That was last week!" He was like "No, that's next week." He kept using a date from a week ago. Then realized I was right.

Nothing like our past experiences with them. I'm not sure we would use them again.

Tony did have another guy driving with him. We only had Tony drive us once - we always got this other guy who was from Chicago (since we’re coming from O’Hare I assume that’s why we always got him). I thought his name was something like Ronald so maybe that is Riland. He’s actually very talkative though - he talked our ears off each time. I actually paid the invoice yesterday with a plan B of what to do if no one shows up (including dispute the charges with my credit card). Since Tiffany is so much more expensive and I got an email from Riland saying it was still the same company, I decided to give it a try. Today I got an email from Tony from the email address I used 2 years ago so I’m assuming that was him. He said the company name just changed (and this was after I paid the invoice so a fake Tony wouldn’t have had any reason to email at that point). We’re a party of 5 so we always had a white van in the past too.

We leave on Fri so I’ll report back on our experience.

Yes, it was the same email I used for Tony the few trips prior.

Tony replied a few times when we had some changes to our flight, and then I got an email from a different email address although it contained my original emails. I’m assuming Tony forwarded them to Riland. The reply just seemed unprofessional compared to Tony’s.

you are all set and confirmed
Riland and Tony

Also, when our suitcases came out of his van two of the straps we put on them were broken. They were hanging off loose. They didn’t seem broken when we got them at baggage claim because they were still tightly fitted.

We told him we would have six passengers and six large suitcases. We barely fit. He also had to put one suitcase in the front seat with him on our return trip. For some reason it didn’t fit going home but did the first time. Maybe too many souvenirs. Lol.

We were very pleased with all our past rides with them. This one just seemed chaotic.

@PrincessWithABlaster if you are able to report back after your trip it would be greatly appreciated! I used Tony once a few years ago and just recently booked with him again for my upcoming January trip because we are going to have a mobility scooter with us and 2 large suitcases and I wanted to make sure we had a transport that fit us, plus I want the grocery stop. I received a reply to my email right away and wasn't nervous until I read this thread lol but now I'm a little apprehensive. I looked into the tiffany towncar but it was quite pricey and my only other option is probably to do 2 separate ubers which I'd rather not do with the kids, I'd rather we all be together.

I hope your family has a great time!!

If it makes you feel better, I would use them again. If their prices stay consistent and competitive that would be the main reason. At least now I'll be mentally prepared. lol

We used to have Ron all the time. Very talkative! He hasn’t been back to driving since Covid.

I’ll be landing in Orlando at 8am this morning and will report back. We just used Tony in September, I sent this reservation right after we got out of the van so I know it was him. I was so surprised yesterday when I sent a text to confirm that his “dispatch” called me and had no details of my trip. I thought it was a scammer or someone had stolen his phone.
I hope we get Tony as a driver, we’ve been using him for years.

We landed at MCO late last night and stayed at the airport Hyatt. I received text from Tony at 8:00 this morning confirming our 10:00 pick up. Someone named Bob called me about 10 minutes ago to confirm that he works with Tony and will be picking us up. So far so good with my experience, I’ll report back after our trip.

Update for today, Bob picked us up as promised. He was super helpful with our bags and was a good driver, drove a mini van in good shape. He said he’s known Tony for 20 years. We talked a lot about sports, which was perfectly fine. He let us know he’ll be the one picking us up for our ride back to MCO next Saturday. We arranged the time, and he told us he’ll send me confirmation text on Friday and will call me Saturday when he’s on his way.
Overall we were very happy with the service!

We’ve had Bob before and really like him. Glad to hear he’s still driving for Tony.

We landed at 8am Saturday. No idea who the driver was, wasn’t one of Tony’s regular drivers. Didn’t talk at all. And our return he’s picking us up 2.5 hours before flight where Tony was always 2 hours.
And the price went up $40 round trip.

Our driver didn’t text this morning and went to the wrong hotel but was only 5 mins late picking us up and we still got to the airport on time. Overall the communication was chaotic and they don’t seem as organized as they used to be. They took days to respond to non-urgent emails but Tony called me within a minute of me texting to say that we hadn’t heard from our driver this morning. The ride was fine, same new-ish van, same driver who was friendly but not talkative. He greeted us and apologized for the hotel mixup but didn’t chat the whole way. We determined the pick up time for the return trip which worked out fine - they didn’t even ask for a flight number. I might pad it in the future in case of a mixup.

They’re $100 cheaper than other car services round trip to Uni and my husband won’t do Uber or Lyft so I would use them again. If they were the same price as other car services, I’d go with someone who was better at the communication/organization piece. But for $100 I’m willing to wait a few days on non-urgent emails/texts.
