I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

Not sure if anyone is interested but Seaworld is offering a free preschool pass for kids 5 and under. You have to activate it by February 28 and it’s good until the end of the year. We got one for ds because we’ve never been with him before and he’ll be free!

Thanks for posting this…my 3 year old grandson in Orlando has been many times and loved Sesame Street land…I’ll have to look into it although he’s tall for his age…at least 40 inches and now loves all things Disney.
For his 3rd birthday last August we bought him an annual pass so now we get to take him when we go visit and they can take him throughout the year.

Yes it does. And try using a cashback site, any peeps use retailmenot when they offer 10%. Here's cashback monitor so you see the various rates.

EDIT to add: Retailmenot is at 10% cb now!
Newbie who has never used RMN for shop disney GC. Anything else I need to know? My Chase offers are only on up to $50 GC, can I do the 10% RMN offer more than once in a day on separate orders?

Realized I didn’t do a 2022 review….made use of the SW CP for 3 trips to Orlando, using DVC points to stay in Disney once. Used my CSR to PYB on all dining during the year.

Started out the year in January celebrating my granddaughter Madison’s first birthday…that first year flew by.

In March flew down to Orlando to visit our son and his family for a week…had a great time staying with them and visiting Disney with our grandson Jose.

Our May plan to visit our son in Orlando was pushed back to August after I had a heart attack and open heart surgery. Thankfully I’m fully recovered now, just working with my doctor on how to bring my cholesterol down since a strict diet and exercise didn’t work and statins were harming my liver.

In September we did a whole family trip to Disney staying in a 3 bedroom Grand Villa at Bay Lake….the villa was awesome and it was nice to see the little ones get a chance to play and experience Disney together.

Our son and his family flew up to LI for Thanksgiving and an early Christmas celebration…and we found out then that my daughter is having a baby girl in June and our daughter in law is having a boy also in June.:cloud9:.

So 2023 will be a bit crazy with 2 new grandchildren in June.:flower1:
And we will continue to fly SW using points and the CP.

Trips planned right now …doing 1 big family trip to Disney…this year in April since both girls are due in June.

Then all other trips are to Orlando see our son and his family..in June when the baby is born, another one in August when the older one turns 4. Probably a November/December trip as well.

I’ll miss the dining PYB since that was my primary use of URs…Will still use it on groceries and gas this quarter…and hope that dining returns at some point this year

Something else to keep in mind is RMN on GCs is YMMV. I've had success, but there are reports of it not working. It's worth a try if you're planning to purchase anyway.

Are these on Disney Visa? If so you can also use your Disney Redemption points (disney dollars) to buy DGC and earn CB on those through RMN, as seen here. Yes, all CB sites are YMMV. Space your purchases out. @happ has it going on!

No, Chase Freedom and Freedom Unlimited offers. If it doesn't work I will be happy with the 10% on shop disney.

Now that the Chase Sapphire Reserve has abandoned the PYB on dining, I will be using GC for all my Disney dining next trip.

Very close to meeting my MSR on my Amex BBP due to a bad week for my poor 16-year old dog. Thankfully she seems to be on the mend but I've had two dog who've needed to go out at least every two hours round the clock since Tuesday and the 16 year old wouldn't eat for two days. And now in addition to two blood pressure meds, thyroid meds and arthritis medicine, she's now on an appetite stimulant, an antibiotic, and a probiotic. Plus the prescription dog food and fish oil. It's a lot!

I need to pay my q4 taxes Tuesday so that will finish up the BBP and knock out 80% of the CIC MSR. I've also picked up $6,400 in Visa gift cards and converted $3000 to money orders so far.

I’ll be doing the same in April…unless PYB returns for dining in the second quarter… but not really optimistic

We'd love to help. If you've been out of booking for a bit, you might try point.me which is a newer points search engine. I think there is a free trial of it, if you want to give it a whirl. You can input your dates and see what comes up. You can filter by the currencies (points programs) you have to work with.

When I take a quick look at Alaska, I do see availability from SEA-MUC for the whole month of September on their partner BA, for 60k points + $911 in taxes, per person. Those fuel surcharges are hefty, but it's an option.

BUD-SEA is much more reasonable at 60k +229/pp.

I do see some biz flights show up on united, but they are a lot of points per person. But they are there. I'm not familiar with these routes, so there may be much better redemptions, which is where point.me could come in and give you the ability to play on your own. And then they have really great instructions on booking. Remember to ALWAYS confirm availability with the airline before transferring your points. It seems like you have airline points in a few programs, so the above tip doesn't really apply. But do you have any Chase URs, AMEX MRs or Capital One points?

Hopefully others will chime in with some advice.

Here's AA too. Availability out there.

Thank you so much for the screenshots and info! I got super excited, went on to check, and was about to book when I got the "mixed cabin" popup. 😭 It's been a few years, and I forgot all about that bugaboo! Of course, the transatlantic flight was in coach.

Most of what I was able to find would require at least one overnight in LHR or another hub, so we'll have to take that into consideration when booking. I'm planning to give the aggregator sites a try this weekend and hoping for better luck.

Thanks again!

I agree with @FreeDiningFanatic and your best option would be to use a searching tool like point.me or seatspy or expertflyer and perhaps set up an alert. Most airlines will open up award flights at 330 - 355+ days out and business/first class seats get snatched up quickly depending on the route.

Appreciate the info, thanks! Planning to take a look this weekend 🤞

Welcome :welcome:!

If you can't find a decent flight to Munich, try looking at flying into at Frankfurt. You could easily catch a (very) short flight from FRA to MUC. Frankfurt is a Lufthansa hub, the catch is that Lufthansa releases biz class seats around 14 days before departure. You can book other flights, then cancel them if you are able to grab seats on Lufthansa 2 weeks prior to departure (this is what I did on my trip to Budapest in December -- I had another flight booked, then cancelled when I was able to snag first class on Lufthansa to FRA, I then took a quick flight from FRA to BUD.

On another note, I called Chase because I haven't received my new CIC and dd's res and tuition is due on the 20th. They haven't 'released' the card yet. I asked them if they can courier to my address north of the border and they agreed (they said 2-3 biz days). Wish that I called yesterday because I have to use Plastiq to pay them and they mail a check.
Good to know, thanks!

Hi everyone!!

I'm about to book my very first Airbnb in Italy this weekend.

I know that there were tips and tricks mentioned in the past for saving money or maximizing points when booking Airbnbs but I didn't really pay attention...:o Also, I realize things such as promotions change.

So, are there any tips or tricks I should know about before I make the reservation?

We have the CSR, CSP, and CapOneVentureX.

Thanks!

ETA - I am not sure that I want to deal with purchasing GCs at the moment... unless it is to use them to pay off the balance in the future?
