Official Disney Cake Chatter - Part V!

:wave2:Hello! I was wondering if anyone has ordered the Cinderella Slipper dessert from Grand Floridian recently. I tried searching the thread and forum and didn't find any recent posts. Thinking about ordering this to be delivered to our dinner at Grand Floridian Cafe but I was wondering what the flavor/presentation is these days. Thanks for any info!

If you end up ordering this, we'd all love to see a photo!
Haven’t been to Disney in a few years. The last cake I ordered was amazing and delivered to O’hana for my son. We will be in Orlando and he wants to go here for his birthday next week (last minute trip). I was able to get. Reservation but forgot to add the Mickey cake as I just wanted to get the reservation completed. Can I still add on? I tried to do it online and in app, but can’t see anywhere to add this on? Can I just call?

Yes, you can add it on by calling 1-407-WDW-DINE or even just request it when you get to the podium (if they still have any that day).

Good morning.

Has anyone ever had to cancel a cake? I'd feel bad doing it but I'm strongly considering it. I ordered a Birthday Cake for my wife from the Grand Floridian to be delivered at the end of April to Coronado Springs. I was hoping to have it brought out while we were in the Club Lounge that evening but Signature Services told me that's not possible. Seems the only option I have aside from picking it up myself at the Front Desk would be to make a dinner reservation that evening. I'm not sure we'd want a full meal after snacking in Chronos Club and I'd feel funny taking up a table at Toledo for just a few Tapas Plates.

Also does anyone know if I could arrange to have the cake brought out at either Dahlia Lounge or Three Bridges? I'm assuming no as neither take reservations.

Thanks!

I would really like сorder such a cake for my younger sister's 10th birthday. How much does it cost?

It depends on the size and how elaborate you want the cake to be. Find the phone number/email for the Disney resort where you will be dining/staying in post #2 and you can get a quote directly from Disney.

Dahlia Lounge shares a kitchen with Toledo, so you should be able to have it delivered there if you give them an approximate time you'll be arriving.

Thanks so much! I'll reach out to guest services to confirm if we could do that.

And thank you for all you've done over the years answering mine and everyone's questions who post here. You're an incredible asset to this community!

Was at WDW from Feb 27-March 2 with my DD and her BF and my DB. It had been close to 6 years since my daughter had been and her BF had never been to WDW!!!! So, I ordered a star wars themed cake (they both love the franchise and were excited to see the new star wars land at HS) to welcome them both to Disney to be served at Trattoria al Forno after dinner. Cake was delicious. Almond cake with amaretto crunch mousse. 8 inches and paid $170 including tax.

Has anyone had recent luck getting in touch with the Contemporary baking team? I have left a few messages over the last three weeks, but no response so far. Hoping to have a cake delivered to Chef Mickey’s next month.

@morganms22 I would call the main number for the resort (see post #2) and ask to be transferred to Private Dining at the Contemporary.
Thank you!

They actually called back today and I was able to order our cake for May 4th!

Here is what we ordered for anyone curious. All at my daughter’s request for her birthday:

6 inch strawberry cake with fresh strawberry and bavarian cream filling. Buttercream frosting with pastel rainbow colors. A rainbow and painted white chocolate Minnie Mouse figure on top.

I will post a photo when we get it at Chef Mickey’s 🥰

Side note: We were speaking with an outside bakery, but decided it would just be easier to have Disney deliver it to the restaurant since we are staying somewhere else.

FYI we just had a custom cake made and delivered to us at CSR using a former Disney CM who started a baking business after being furloughed during covid. The cake was huge, delicious, totally custom and half what Dianey would.have charged. Fed our party of 20+ and it was $90 delivered.
Hi! Could you share the information and direct message me with it?

Not sure if this is new information but I called the number listed on page 1 for Tutto Italia-Via Napoli as we have a reservation coming up at Via Napoli. The woman who answered at Tutto Italia said she couldn't take a cake order for Via Napoli and gave me a direct number for Via Napoli, 407-560-8050. When I called they only offered 2 cakes, the Dark or White Chocolate Mickey Celebration Dome Cakes. I ordered one as I've had them before and they were fine. After all the thought is as important as the cake (so I'm trying to convince myself) 😉

Just ordered two custom 6 inch fondant cakes. One Star Wars/Darth Vadar and one an Anniversary cake. Both were $160. One being delivered to Artist Point and the other to Jiko. Will share after we come back in May. I will say the actual ordering process was very quick and easy. Julisa was very helpful sending pictures of ideas since I didn't really know what I wanted.

Hi all. Just following up on my post. Had the Cinderella slipper delivered to our meal this week. It was a white chocolate slipper filled with whipped cream and raspberries. On the side was a dark chocolate cup filled with chocolate mousse. There were some cute decorative surprises on the plate but I won’t ruin it for others! It was $20 and very easy to order. I emailed the contact listed in the info post and got a call from a CM within an hour.D7168763-41C2-4907-AACB-95894F77A80F.jpeg

OK. Another update to what's offered at Via Napoli. We ordered the Mickey Chocolate Dome Cake and it was slightly different than what's offered elsewhere on property, The ears and eyes were white chocolate and the price was $35 as opposed to $40 for the other version. It was delicious though and tasted very similar to the tradition Mickey Dome. Overall very happy with it.

Do you happen to have a pic of the inside of it and/or share a description of what's in the inside? I have one ordered for one of our dinners and was curious.

I don't but it was almost identical if not identical to the traditional Mickey Dome. Ganache on the outside and thin layers of cake and mousse on the inside,

You can see photos of the inside of both types of Mickey Dome cakes in Post #1 of this thread! :goodvibes
