Interest Rate and Credit Score

I got rid of cable 5 years ago. We have Netflix, amazon prime, and HBO Max for entertainment on our big-screen TVs. I have a number of people I watch on youtube, rumble, and numerous podcasts.

Honestly, I think cable news is a thing of the past. If you are talented no matter what side of things you are on there are numerous ways to be successful. Some people are a brand It doesn't matter which platform they are on. Successful people always overcome. Getting fired can be a blessing trust me I know.

Love them or hate them I'm sure Don and Tucker will be just fine. They'll find a way.
Exactly. Who wastes money on cable in 2023. There is no reason to. You need to dump the $200 a month cable bill so you can afford Genie-.

They are both down at Cheers tonight enjoying a Bud Light together.
Tucker doesn't drink ex-alcoholic but what normal person enjoys a light beer? Only lPA's or Lagers in my house.

Did you short Fox news? I love the memes with Bud light telling Fox news to hold my beer.

I think cable news needs to get back to doing......news.
We just dumped YouTube TV and Netflix, nothing there for us. Paying way too much for Dish but only source for the programming we watch.
Don't know about Don Lemon, but Tucker is worth over $400 million, so he doesn't need a job.

Top 1% pay 40% of federal taxes.

I'm not saying wealthy people don't pay its just ironic when one is pointing out the fact that he pays less than his secretary.
Credit tightening is the bigger story. It will slow down the economy, which will lower inflation. But it will also put a lot of people out of work.

Maybe we should go back a few years and re-adopt our prior policy on energy in this country. It should help reduce the price of fuel which in turn would help lower inflation and put more money into all of our pockets. Everything is affected by the high cost of energy.

History tells us you can get a similar result if you facilitate or encourage giving mortgages to people who might not be able to pay them back.

Isn't this the real reason for the crash in 2008, the thinking by some that everyone should own a home?

I ran the numbers, and it has zero impact on me. What bothers me is that it isn’t being properly reported. And it’s more complicated than news outlets make it out to be. I’m frustrated by crappy reporting to create an emotional response.

Well, here's something we can agree on. Journalists need to become journalists again and report the facts. It would be nice if it would happen and on all networks.

Wait didn't another poster on another thread say something like "there are no successful people"? I think I read that somewhere over the past few days.

The person you’re talking about is beyond weathy. He’s in another stratosphere The top 1% is a wide range of incomes.

That’s an interesting talking point. The truth is out there….
Are you going to tell me poor people pay taxes? We’re middle class we don’t pay that much after writes offs, but when your middle class every little bit hurts.

The youtube channels I subscribe to have between 250 and 1 million subscribers and they are nobody’s. Either one of this guys could have millions of suscribers within minutes. There really is no need for cable news. Nobody watches it.

This comment keeps getting an airing but I think you are making a mistake in its interpretation.
Warren Buffet will be paying a huge amount of tax, far more than his secretary.
However, because of the way he structures his income with the emphasis on dividends rather than salary, his effective rate might be lower. His secretary might be paying 20% on $50,000 whilst he is paying 19% on $5,000,000 or more.
Totally different outcome to saying he pays less tax than his secretary.

The problem is for them is keeping people tuned in for hours at a time. No one is going to watch a bland news program for more than 10 minutes.

In no world is Warren Buffet paying less in taxes than his secretary. He may have a lower effective tax rate but that is not the same as paying less. He is likely paying more in taxes every year than his secretary will earn in their life.

CNN Headline news used to be great. Get a national newscast any time you wanted. Considering there is a war going on, and evacuations from Sudan, I would think the news audience would be huge for actual newscasts instead some of the silly stuff they run now like Bill Maher.

Watch Sky News on PlutoTV for world news.

Those youtube channels are pretty cringe worthy. But I come from a Journalism background..

I doubt we listen to the same people. Mine aren't cringy. There are millions of channels out there. You can't make a blanket statement like that.

Well, IMHO those kind of channels in general are what has lead to the crisis in information we currently have. People can't tell what is legit and what is not.
