VDH Opening

Apparently they just had their meeting this morning, and there are several things they're needing to verify before making the booking. It's slow going. I'm the first caller my CM has and she's still working on things.

I guess it just depends... The rep I spoke with told me I was her first, as well. However once I had made it through to her, it was about five minutes max before my reservation was booked. Go figure...

Anything beyond membership #, phone #, and SSN? I’ve entered the info so many times this morning I should have my membership # memorized by now. 😅

I hope the wait time is accurate. My VQ boarding group for Cosmic Rewind was called already. 🤣

There was all that, but she was very thorough in checking that I had points at VDH and whatever else was on her verification checklist. She was very friendly though. I was her first caller of the day.
She asked if I had purchased prior to May 30th.

I'm all booked for a deluxe studio for the runDisney weekend in January! party:

Enjoy Cosmic Rewind - I'm heading in to work soon for my before-contract-hours meeting that I don't want to go to.

Already no more 1BR or 2BR villas available for race weekend. I was able to get a 1BR for 5 nights in November though!

Wooohooo! Was able to get a studio for opening weekend (waitlisted a 1br) and for race weekend.
1BR really seems to be the popular choice on this thread for now. Hope DVC didn't underestimate the number of 1BR villas they designated for the tower.

BTW, anyone try to borrow points when they made/are making their reservation?

Connected at 9:05. On hold until about 9:40. Booked three stays - a standard view duo studio and two standard view studios. Finished call 9:55 am.

Yes, we borrowed for the reservations without issue.

Yeah when we added on they kept our use year in December, so we had to borrow points. Not sure if it is better to have borrowed than to be forced to bank some we wouldn't have been able to use. Booked a Deluxe Studio for a couple nights in Thanksgiving Week. Now begins the wait and the rush to reserve passes and dining 60 days out. Vacation planning is pretty onerous these days.

When I got past the busy signal, I got through the phone tree and was told my wait was three minutes. Obviously not a good estimate, as I finally got through after 50 minutes.

No charge for parking up to two vehicles, which is nice and generous for a room that sleeps 4.

I know that 50 is the minimum points you can add-on, but it seems like a new purchase requires 100 or more points. I was looking at 100 points divided into 50 points each in case a time came that I choose to sell. With all the incentives I'm now looking at 50x3, which increases the odds that in a decade I may choose to shed one. I see many others are looking at smaller contracts for similar safety nets, are there any downfalls to trying to sell 50? It seems like smaller fetches a bigger price and gives flexibility, but does it limit so that only existing owners can buy it?
I purchased 150 VDH points on a new UY as an existing owner. I requested to split into 75/75 since I have 2 kids but they told me I had to purchase at least one 100 pt contract in order to start a new UY. So I went with 100/50. My kids will have to duke it out or play nice after my husband and I leave this earth. You can try for 50/50/50 but they might not tell you no.

Hmm. I'm on hold as I type. The CM is telling me that she thinks add-on contracts won't be able to book until tomorrow. But they're double checking. Fingers crossed. Does that make sense-- aren't we all "add-on" contracts? It's my first direct purchase
I thought they were only selling add-on contracts right now, unless I am missing some nuance with the term "add-on".

This makes no sense whatsoever. You are correct that currently all owners at VDH have purchased add-on contracts.
