Answering some of the comments. . . I would definitely not do this at home, but at home, the TS restaurant probably is not owned by the same company where I would be buying the drink. If you're having a drink while waiting on your reservation, I don't see the big deal of finishing it inside the restaurant when both are owned by Disney. If you were at the pool bar having a drink and your table was called, couldn't you take it in with you?
I probably won't do this anyway, I don't even drink soda and prefer freshly brewed tea, but my child might want to. I'm on the fence whether the mugs are even worth it to us, so I was thinking maybe I'm missing a use people are making of them. I don't imagine a lot of people resort hopping just to eat and drink at a resort QS.
I guess I see both sides of this. But I DO worry about being rude / tacky so I probably wouldn't do it.
