They finally rescheduled the concert at San Diego State. They must have been waiting for a state of emergency to be declared, which didn’t happen until yesterday evening.
And top off any rechargeable devices you are using frequently, including any battery packs you use to recharge tablets, phones, etc. You may start with them fully charged, but if you are depending on your phone for alerts, news, and weather updates, you can deplete the battery more than you realize. When we are having a hurricane, I try not to let my phone and tablet get below 80% before topping back up.Pouring here right now. As I may have said, I'm about 45 minutes away from Disneyland. Extra grateful today for my strong Christian faith. Stay safe please everyone. Remember also to be sure all your battery operated devices are working and that you have fresh extra batteries, too.
Thats good to hear.I’m about 4 miles east of the beach and just south of lax. So far it no worse than a regular rain storm, my street has flooding as usual due to the infrequent placement of the big storm drains. The total forecasted rain has continued to drop from the originally predicted 3” and the wind projections have also decreased from the highest projection.
Right? The rain isn't even the worse it's been this year. And there is no wind here at the border. You weren’t asking me, but as a Southern California resident, it’s very much business as usual. We’ve gotten a little bit of rain and no wind. We are by the coast.
I think the weather people are getting a kick out of it but it sounds and looks like regular rain to me on tv on the weather channel...just watching from long island. It is tropical rain instead of regular rain. OK. Got it.Right? The rain isn't even the worse it's been this year. And there is no wind here at the border.
Yup. We shall see if the next couple of hrs prove me wrong.I think the weather people are getting a kick out of it but it sounds and looks like regular rain to me on tv on the weather channel...just watching from long island. It is tropical rain instead of regular rain. OK. Got it.
Definitely more muggy. It is tropical rain instead of regular rain.
Having gone through many hurricanes and tropical storms here on Long Island, the sir gets very very muggy and it will take a while to dry out! Hopefully quickly for you guys!Definitely more muggy.
I noticed that ROTR has an 80 min wait right now.
Now down to 35 mins. Maybe they had a backup from some downtime.I noticed that ROTR has an 80 min wait right now.
Hi, neighbor! I live in central (uptown) San Diego, and it’s been raining off and on since the middle of the night, enough to keep our yard drainage system actively pumping water to the street, but not enough to fully activate the Quick Dams I placed adjacent to the part of our garage that is prone to flooding. So far, not bad. But it looks grim in the desert communities. Here in North County San Diego it is drizzly, nothing like the storms this past winter, or even last fall. High winds are supposed to hit us around 5pm. Saw on Instagram some doofuses are at the beach. While we are coastal we are elevated so not concerned about flooding and are well stocked/prepared. Filled the bathtubs just in case. Hubby is making osso Bucco and flashlights/devices charged. We’ve got headlamps out for a rollicking game of cards should the power go out. Not our first rodeo.
I’m mostly concerned for those east of us and in the mountains. Seems like they are going to get the brunt of it. And also the people ordering door dash right now. Seriously people, you can wait a day for your Pho (and I love Pho.)
Edit: doordashers
Lol, hilarious. Hope it was delicious - if ever there was a day for it, it’s today! Stay dry neighbor!Btw, guilty… we ordered pho earlier , but it was at 11, when we were having a lull…
