Well, sorry to the thousands of people I came in to contact with this week. I ended up feeling chilled waiting to board the plane to head home. I couldn’t warm up no matter how many layers I put on. Started getting a sore throat on the flight home, and the next morning woke up with headache, stuffy and runny nose, chills and fever. I took 2 at-home tests and they came up positive.

Lots of people were coughing, sneezing, and sneezing into their hands or not covering their sneeze at all.
The trip was amazing, and the Halloween party was so much fun! No rain which was so nice!
Stay healthy, everyone!!

I am sorry you got Covid. I was at Disney in early June, and was concerned enough then to mask up indoors again. My sister came down with Covid about a month ago, and she hadn’t had it at all before, but she works in a hotel so she is exposed to a lot. It’s definitely still out there. I hope you recover quickly and have no lasting effects.

It was so incredibly hot this week and last. I only saw a couple people with masks. I would’ve passed out.
I got a prescription for Paxlovid today.
Have someone go out for cinnamon gum for you. Paxlovid mouth is real and the gum really helps cover it up.

I went to WDW when masks were required inside. It wasn’t so bad. I think we’ll wear them on the plane and then inside.

Ugh, sorry you got Covid. My husband & I were there over 4th of July. We didn’t wear masks on the plane or at WDW for the first time since 2019. We came home Friday night. I tested + Monday, husband felt symptoms & was + 2 days later. This was our first time getting Covid. We’ll go back to wearing masks on the plane & in crowded places the next trip. Hope you feel better soon.

Covid is spreading like wildfire due to this new variant. We also got covid in August on our WDW trip, although ironically caught it from my elderly father who we visited on day 3 of our trip. It was the first time my dad, mom, and 2 sons have gotten covid.

My dad didn't test because he thought it was just a cold. But he got a lot worse and needed to see the doctor. 5 days later he found out he had covid. By the time he told us, we all had it too. We tested positive the day before we had to fly back home. My sons had minor symptoms (I actually had no symptoms until the day after we got home). We all wore N95 masks on the plane home. It was the best we could do. Extending our stay by another 10 days was not an option. Half our plane was hacking and sneezing and sniffling on the way home. Only us and 2 other passengers had masks on.

People in the parks were sneezing and coughing and blowing their noses EVERYWHERE. A few were masked. Most were not. I think if we hadn't caught it from my dad, we would have gotten it anyway.

I'm glad I brought N95 masks and covid tests with me. They were last minute additions to the suitcase and I made a joke with my husband "am I jinxing us by bringing these?" Our Disneyland vacation last 4th of July had been cut short by covid on day 2. So now I'm 0 for 2 on covid free Disney vacations.

Sorry to hear that! I've had Covid twice, May 2022 and March 2023, both times caught in Orlando. I have continued to wear masks on planes, but not really anywhere else. Will take some more with me to Orlando this weekend.

Your March 2023 infection will likely be protective. My husband had it in March also and he didn't come with us on this trip, but he was around 3 of us at home while we all had it and he never got it.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Sorry to hear it!! I got COVID for the 3rd time about a week and a half ago... I'm a high school teacher. Germy kids!

Hope you feel better ASAP!

My daughter came back with it a couple weeks ago as well -had a good case that lasted a week. It's everywhere, not just Disney. My other daughter went with her and never had a sniffle or a positive test, so who knows.....

Yeah, my daughter was with me 24/7 and she is testing negative and feels fine. Maybe it’s because she had the boosters and I did not?

Had it 3 times so far, 2 of the three times were after Disney trips. Nothing serious any of the 3 times, more like an irritating cold and I was tired (though that is nothing new). Will be at WDW soon, I'm preparing to catch it again but I'm not wearing a mask in the parks, I'll take my chances.

yikes...think I'll wear masks when I'm there this fall - wasn't going to, but if there's even a chance I can avoid catching it, I'll deal with the heat/inconvenience.

Sorry to hear this….sending lots of PD to feel better soon :wizard:

Personally….I still wore a mask on the plane last March and June. I was one of 5 people that I counted (another one being my DD20) and people looked at us like we were nuts. We didn’t care, we just felt better with it on.

I flew out to California in June. I did not want to get sick while out there and the airports and planes are packed. I wore a 3M N95 Aura from the minute I set foot in the airport until I exited the airport on the west coast. There were a few others in the airport and on the plane with a mask on--most notably one of the flight attendants. I don't know if it helped me or not but I figured if it could just mitigate my risk a little bit, I'll take it!!! I just don't want to be on vacation and get miserably sick.
