Anyone else watching the news for that freak Epstein's Creeper List?

It’s all just so strange to think that where were the parents of all these teens being jetted off ?? What they supposed to be in school? I’m pretty sure it’s been explained maybe someone can post here that backstory.
People who are sex trafficked don't generally have loving and attentive families who'll miss them. Or, like the girls involved with rockstars in the 70s, some parents sign their kids over and think nothing of it when there's fame/money/power involved.

Good point just so many? I know I live in my bubble of good caring families. Just hard to fathom, I’m constantly asking my 17 year old with questions when she goes out and she is doing normal kids stuff.

Hate to be devils advocate, but maybe not every woman on that island or plane was a victim. Maybe they were 18 , Maybe they did so by choice. I mean it sounds like hedonism surrounded that guy and his friends, so I assume that not all were underage. And depending where the act took place, being under 18 doesn’t also mean under age. In my country the legal age consensual sex is 14 (16/17 with older people, not allowed to pay for sex if under 18). We’ve had another thread a while back where many have the opinion legal prostitution is not a bad thing and personally knows some that do it by free will. I’m sure there were women out there, enjoying themselves having a hand over such powerful men, getting a kick out of it especially if they were getting goodies on the side. Then some realized they were being manipulated in the end, and were victimized
I think you just tackled the elephant in the room. Like you, I'm sure that some of the girls who were Epstein's paramours were of age and probably liked hanging in his powerful circles. And considering that all of this happened in different districts, age of consent is another thing to take into account.

Precisely. Underage and/or non-consensual is a no-no, of course, but some young women like that hedonistic scene, and if it's their choice to partake, who am I to judge?

Wouldn't be impossible for some to have joined consensually, having their own understanding of what they were getting into and only later found themselves in circumstances far beyond their consent. Many victims feel responsible for what happens to them because their choice left them vulnerable so they keep quiet, assuming everyone else will judge them guilty. No one should feel responsible for being abused.

So let those that are innocent explain how and why they are innocent, as is their right. If an associate of mine is accused of these crimes, I’m singing from the rooftops that I am not involved, cutting all ties and assisting an investigation in any way that I can. So if there is nothing to be found, there is nothing to be found.

But to not release the list and out the predators in case people mistakenly assume innocent people are guilty is absurd. People think wrong things every day. These adults (of considerable means) can defend themselves. Underage girls and boys with no stature or wealth could not protect themselves at all and THEY are what matters here.
Since when was it set up that the innocent must prove their innocence instead of innocent until proven guilty. Are you looking forward to the time when the police can go into your house and throw you in jail and never give you the chance to prove you didn't do anything wrong and just rely on what someone else said you did? I'm not saying that these people didn't do anything wrong, what I am saying is lets not accuse them because their name was on some evil mans list.

Let’s remember the power differential in relationships like these.

Very powerful people vs 14 yr old children.

Someone mentioned priests earlier. Teachers, coaches, uncles, same principles.

This may be even worse (if that’s possible) as money was involved (prostitution), and out of state trafficking.

Who is condoning the actions of Epstein? He was an evil, evil man and that was proven. We are presently talking about a list of people that may or may not have been involved with the despicable things that Epstein was doing behind the scenes. Some of those on the list might just have been power brokers that Epstein was cozying up to for political and social appearance of legitimacy. If they were involved we will find out soon enough, but to just make assumptions is wrong.

Your teen is fortunate, as are the other kids of parents in your bubble.
There are sadly other teens and very young adults who are in terrible circumstances. They have few options and are easy to prey on by folks with evil intentions.

This post makes me think about the documentary The Unknown Known about Rumsfeld. What did people know and when did they find out. I wonder if the name L. Rafael Reif is on the list (I'm sure the OP has committed it to memory right now and is making a spreadsheet). L. Rafael Reif is the president of MIT which Epstein visited and gave money to. Reif didn't know about it and the report that was released discussed at length who may have known about Epstein's activities and whether it violated university policy. But here's the thing - are we going to hold all of MIT responsible for Epstein? If there is a picture out there on the inter webs of some student or administrator or faculty member with Epstein are we going to accuse them of knowing what he did? Come on. A list is just associates. It doesn't even come close to presuming guilt. I can't believe I'm actually having to type this but we are one of the most media illiterate countries on earth, so....

Here's the post from MIT. The only reason I know about the MIT connection is that it made big news here in Massachusetts when he was arrested.

What a freak show the court case describes, it is heartbreaking to read.

I keep needing to take breaks because it is all so grotesque, I wonder how many other people have read it or are in the process of reading it?
