Jan 9th has arrived! First day for all guests to be eligible to try for ONE VQ at 7AM as park reservations are not required for the majority of guests, beginning today!
If you get a boarding group at 7am for TRON, if you are able to use it and park hop to EPCOT by 1pm, can you try for a boarding group for Guardians at 1pm? For some reason I recall last year that if you were able to get a boarding group at 7am, you could not get one at 1pm.
Thanks!

Yes you can. You just can’t hold both at the same time.

Yes. What you may be thinking of is previously park hopping was restricted to 2PM and sometimes the 1PM VQ for the second park was full by the time PH was allowed.

We were not park hopping the last time we visited and I thought we were restricted with the number of boarding groups we could get in a day. For instance on our Magic Kingdom day, I recall we were able to get a boarding group for TRON at 7am, but it wouldn't let me try at 1pm. But then we got one for TRON at 6pm because we were eligible for Extended Evening Theme Park Hours.

Yes. I don’t believe that has changed.

Yes you can get a BG for both Tron and Guardians in the same day. I got Guardians at 7am and Tron at 1pm. (Edit to add: This was before Jan 9, 2024, when the rules may have changed.)

According to Disney you can only hold 1 at a time. I wonder if you were able to book 2 because Guardians was expired at that time.
That could be. I wasn’t expecting it to work tbh. Was more of an academic exercise than anything else, but they did let us ride both that day. Was also eligible for the 6pm drop but I was too slow on the trigger. That went in less than a second.

When did you take this screenshot? Rules changed on Tuesday, Jan 9 this week. As of Jan 9 a guest may only hold 1 VQ at a time.
Ohh I did not know it changed Jan 9. I took this recently but before Jan 9. Can you no longer get a 6pm VQ for deluxe evening hours in addition to the 7am drop anymore either? Just one VQ each day, period?

I’ll edit my screenshot to say it’s pre Jan 9.

I believe you will be able to get a 7AM or 1PM plus a 6PM but as the scenario has not presented itself yet, we cannot be 100% sure. We'll meet to wait for the first AH/EEH evening to happen to test it out.

So I posted this in another thread but I think it should be mentioned here. I'm more of a sleep in and go for the 1 p.m. drop crowd. We have done this successfully since the start of VQs. However, I think that the new rules will not work for us as more people will be allowed to try for the 1 p.m. drop.

Pre-Jan. 9 - Everyone with an Epcot reservations gets up and tries for VQ at 7 a.m. Those that don't get it can try again at 1 p.m. in essence lowering the number of people attempting at 1 p.m. and making it easier to get.

Post - Jan. 9 - Everyone gets up and tries for GOTG VQ at 7 a.m. Then ANYONE who wants to can go to Epcot for 1 p.m. and try for the VQ, opening it up to LOTS more people!

Am I freaking out for no reason or is this correct?

The way it reads on the website, it sounds like a person can only have 1 VQ at a time.

For our next trip in March we will be using a ticket that still requires reservation. We only have two days, so we're planning on doing HS/EP one day and AK/MK on the other. And we want to end with EP and MK since we will go on days that have EEH. Does anyone know if I reserve MK and get a Tron BG that is for later in the day would I be able to change my reservation to start at AK? I want to try to avoid the back and forth if possible.

We have booked a VQ in the past and then changed our park reservation. No problem at all.

Hi - I'm trying to keep up. Not an AP holder and don't need theme park reservation - have park hopper... am I unable to get a VQ at GoG and Tron on same day?

You will have the opportunity to try. At 7AM you are eligible to try to get one VQ. When you hop to the other park you can try to get a VQ for the second attraction, if they are still available.

Guests may only hold 1 VQ at a time.

Do you need a park reservation to join a VQ on a good to go day? I have an AP and plan to go to MK but am staying near EPCOT so would like to keep the option to pop over to ride Rat first thing before heading to MK for the rest of the day. I really would like to get Tron VQ.

I know for certain on a good-to-go day, you don't need a park reservation to do anything, so yes to VQ. But I also believe that if you are there and have a park reservation for EP, since they've removed the park hopping restrictions, you'll be able to book a Tron VQ (assuming you can get one!), even with entering EP first.

With new rules in place, will WDW still be flexible with return times on the GotG VQ? We arrive in the evening but I will try for the 7 am VQ. Never had a problem before arriving well after my boarding group return time. Also, I assume there is still a 6 pm VQ chance on EEH nights?
