Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

MK is open until 11p tonight...leave the park, go to Geyser Point, do a monorail crawl, and come back later...if you can. Funny that Touring Plans has MK at a "7" today..guess they are wrong and am a little worried about my predicted "5" and "6" the week I will be there.

We're religious midday break people and days like today are just more reason. Nobody will ever convince me standing in a line for over 2 hours for a 2 minute attraction is more fun than having a drink and a snack at the resort pool!

Yeah I have never gotten sick either...although the older I get the longer I need to "recover" after I leave the vehicle...just a bit of dizziness that that gets more intense each trip.
I feel like I'm built differently because that ride has never made me feel nauseous. Forbidden Journey at Universal on the other hand....give me a barf bag before blasting me off to Hogwarts, k?

But she did drive the highest-watched Women's NCAA basketball game ever - and it was on ESPN. That is a direct impact to Disney's bottom line.
Okay. Then yes, it's a fine question if someone wants to ask it.

More seriously: the women's game is getting a LOT more attention, and not just because of Clark (or Mulkey for that matter), but the game is really good. I'm increasingly seeing articles, etc. talk about it as being better than the men--in part because the WNBA pays less than top-tier NIL deals, and so the best players have an incentive to stay in college as long as they can.

I never did the orange side, just one go on the old green side (back when they were the same ride video), but it made me so claustrophobic if they had taken even one more second to start the ride and give me a video to focus on, I would have started screaming my head off to let me out. I never experienced claustrophobia before then so I thought I would be ok even with the warning. Never again.

They no longer have the same ride video? I didn't know!

I did orange once like a decade and a half ago but my head hurt too much from dizziness and I never did it again. It's sad because I think the building that houses the ride is pretty cool. I guess they should just bring back Horizons 😅

I feel like that scene in High School Musical 2 where Sharpay is at the pool whenever I take a mid day break.

Honestly, that's just living your best life.

A few years ago they changed it to have the green side be a super boring orbit of Earth. Even without the claustrophobia issue, that killed any interest I had in doing it again. It's a shame because Gina Torres is in the preshow video for it and I love her to pieces but no way am I doing that ride again.

Yeah. Honestly, I used to find Green Team just as fun as Orange and I would often choose it due to my back, but now Green Team is super-lame! I will ride Orange, but it's a once-per-trip thing.

Once the actual ride started and I had the screen to distract me, I loved the old green and probably would have tried it again, just kept my eyes closed until it started. The current version I've only seen on YouTube but it's such a downgrade and tbh I don't think it would engage my brain enough to distract me from the fear.

It really feels like people got punished for not being able to physically handle orange, and it's a bummer.
