SW Credit Card Offer

Just an FYI, the annual fee is never waived on this card, at least in the last 8 years that I have been rotating through them. 60K is the best you will get for their sign-up bonus. For the $99+$69 annual fees, you get 120,000 points plus companion flies free until Dec 31, 2018. It is an amazing deal!

Has anyone on here received the free drink coupons? If so, please tell me how! I have put a fortune on the cards and always keep each one for at least a full year, but have never once received a drink coupon. :confused3

Yes, I get the free drink coupons every year. My husband never did (he had the same card but we recently cancelled his). No idea the rhyme or reason for me getting drink coupons and not him.

Just FYI, while there is a $69 annual fee you also are gifted 6,000 points on your card member anniversary every year, as well as 2 free drink coupons, so the $69 fee is basically refunded to you via those points/drinks.
The $69 card gets 3,000 points, the $99 card gets 6,000.

Alright, since the offer is so rare, I bit the bullet and signed up. If we can't use the points on our next Disney trip, I can use them in other ways since we have family all over the US. Do the points expire? Or as long as we add points by travel or purchases, does the clock restart for the 24 month expiration?

I have recently signed up for both the Plus and Premier and received 60,00 for each (2x60,000 =120,000) which brought me above the 110,000 needed for the free companion pass ( good until Dec 31, 2018). This makes my 120,000 worth 240,000 points if I am able to travel that much. It is my understanding that Southwest is planning to open up routs to Hawaii. You could then use your Chase UR points to pay for your Disney room:rolleyes1
Keep in mind that the 60,000 point signup bonus expires 6/29.

Are both of these personal cards? Not business cards? Will they let me apply for both with a few days or do I need to spread it out more?

I did the same, both personal cards, and I applied for both within minutes using 2 different browsers. It's my understanding that Chase won't approve more than one card in a 30 day period so you have to do it the same day before it shows up on your credit report.

You can apply for both personal cards (the Plus and Premier) on the same day. The reason why applying for both personal cards on the same day is a good idea is because Chase will combine one hard pull of your credit report for both applications, instead of making two separate dings on your credit report. However, if you apply for a personal card and a business card on the same day, you'll get two hard pulls of your credit report because those are two different departments. The reason why you'd want to perhaps apply for the two personal cards on separate browsers is because if you do the applications back-to-back on the same browser, Chase's system may reject the second application because it thinks it's a duplicate. When applying back-to-back, you should try to apply on a weekday during business hours because if your 1st application is denied, it doesn't make much sense to apply for a 2nd one since it will probably be denied as well. But at least during business hours, you can call Chase immediately after a 1st denial to request reconsideration of your application and try to get any issue cleared up so you can apply for the 2nd card. Chase will not approve you for a personal credit card if you've submitted 2 applications in the last 30 days. Chase will also not approve you if you've opened 5 or more credit cards in the last 24 months.

I've never done this type of deal. I've read back and forth. I'm confused how two cards be points all combined together. I also see people mention rapid rewards accounts. Can someone tell me exactly in what order how to do this?

TIA

The points automatically transfer to your Rapid Rewars account, you should sign up for that first if you don't have one.
I applied for the premier first, then literally right after tried to apply for the Plus (both personal), but every time I clicked on the link it kept saying Congratulations. I had to switch to a different browser (Safari) to apply for the Plus personal card. I was approved for both.
Someone else said to apply for both on the same day as it will only pull your credit report once.

I use my southwest premier card for everything now after getting it a few years ago specifically for the bonus 50,000 (then) points to cover my party's travel to Disney and would be jumping on this 60k offer for the other card if I was not currently keeping my credit pristine due to applying for a mortgage shortly for purchasing a house. I am just commenting to add that even though there are costs for both levels of this card, the points you get on your anniversary equal more than you would get spending the same amount out of pocket, so I have always considered the annual fee as not prohibitive to keeping the card.

Where would I find the expiration for the 3 month spend $2k information? If I was approved on the 24th, do I have to spend the $2k by September 24th? Or is it the end of the billing cycle?

You can send a secure message through your online account and they can tell you the exact date you need to complete your minimum spend by.

So, if I currently have the premier card, I can apply for the plus card and be approved for both? Would the 60,000 bonus post to the same RR account? With the points I already have, that would be enough to get the companion pass. So tempting!

You can have both the plus and premier at the same time. When did you get the points for the premier card? You need to have gotten all the points in the same calendar year. When you apply for the card there is the option to add your RR number to link the accounts. They linked mine automatically but I heard if they don't you can call and they will if the names match.

Ahhh yes .... good point. They weren't all earned this year. I knew I had to be missing something. Still, 60,000 bonus points is a great deal for the plus. It's worth at least a few RT flights for us.

If you got the bonus over 24 months ago you can cancel and reapply a few weeks after canceling.
