Beach toy gift train?

I have no idea what you would call it but I was wondering if anyone has heard of people passing on their beach toys as they leave Hawaii to a family checking in who would presumably do the same at check out? Kind of like what people did with refrigerators at WDW.

If there is something organized like that I would love to find it. Or any other tips you might have for dealing with purchasing beach stuff that won't be coming home.

In trips passed we have purchased sand toys, floats, boogie boards, snorkel stuff and always had to abandon them at the end of our trip. It's soooooooo wasteful! Help!

I don't know if there is anything like this, but I will let you know that you can borrow sand toys and boogie boards at no cost while staying at the resort, so really not necessary to purchase. Snorkel gear has a cost associated, but you can get a week-long pass that allows you to have access to Rainbow Reef for your entire stay, and you also have unlimited access to the gear both at the Reef and for the beach.

We've done something similar with leftover foods (still sealed) on our departure day. If nobody takes it, we throw it in the trash when we get in our car.

I brought some princess theme beach toys for my DD to use but she preferred the pool and didn't really use them. We ended up giving them to a family on the beach.

We purchased beach toys for our DD during our last trip (before we checked into Aulani) and just "donated" them to the Aulani rental place that has toys available to use for guests.
