Hello all! Considering my first solo trip to WDW in April 2018- seems like anyone who has ever done it loved it- Any ideas for finding other singles to meet up with/great activities? :flower:

Aside from meeting up with someone on here for a meal, coffee, etc, a lot of singles seem to spend time at JellyRolls. Above all, just do what you are interested in and you will have fun either way. I myself had some plans to meet up with friends from the boards, but it fell through at the last minute. I would caution you to be careful on a trip during April, since that is when Spring Break occurs(along with March), so you should bear that in mind as well.

Easter 2018 is April 1, which is early, so there may be fewer spring breaks as many of them are either the week before or the week after Easter.

I'm highly considering planning a trip around April as well (I haven't been to Disney World in 20 years!), but hope to try and avoid going solo despite the fact that none of my friends are able to plan a trip at this time. Looking for ways to meet other people on here as well to see if anyone wants to plan a trip/share hotel room with

Plan very carefully for Hollywood Studios(Toy Story Land opens up next year sometime) and Animal Kingdom(with Pandora now open). Right now, those are going to be where the most attention is drawn to because they are relatively new. HS is going to be worse in 2019 when Star Wars - Galaxy's Edge opens up. I just hope they don't repeat the mistakes made with Pandora and only put two rides in the section.

@brad813 I believe Toy story land isn't opening until the summer so if I go in April/May I will most likely miss it, which is ok with me for now since I will already have so much else that I want to do after not being there in so long! And while I'm not an Avatar fan, the rides do look really cool so I would probably attempt to try and get FP for them, but it's not on the top of my list of what I'm looking forward to.

Well, on the Toy Story thing, we won't really know until a few months from now, but Pandora did open at the end of May, so I assume Summer to mean between April and June. Even if you don't get to do the rides, I would at least go by Satuli Canteen.....interesting menu for a quick service. Now, in my planning and replanning, I have noticed that your best chances of a Fastpass for Flight of Passage will be to stay on property....Na'vi River Journey is almost a walk on in the morning. Also, consider doing it on a day with Extra Magic Hours(mandatory if you want to avoid long waits and can't get a Fastpass for Flight of Passage). Flight of Passage fastpasses seem to sell out by the 40 day out mark, though I lucked up into one for my trip(sold out two days before and suddenly a lot of them showed up....I figure it was likely due to hurricane related cancellations....people get afraid) later this month. I won't get to see all the theming, but I will be able to tell you about the rides themselves, if you want to keep in touch.

@brad813 I definitely plan on staying at a Disney hotel and have learned that I should do the FP's as soon as I hit the 60 day mark. These boards are great for useful tips, thank you. How often do you go to WDW?

Hey I'm booked for 3 April to 21 April - would like to go to jelly rolls if interested and open to other restaurants/meet ups if you like

Second trip overall, first into the main parks. Went into Blizzard Beach when I went down to upgrade tickets(didn't know you coulf by phone then). I learned that information on Pandora through a combination of having to replan my trip(original dates were September 21-25) to next month and what a cast member friend has told me. I pass along any information I get along the way. I will be flying down on October 30th and my AK day is October 31(opting for the MNSSHP on November 1st instead). Inbox me and I will keep you updated about what I experience.

We're doing a trip April 27-May 6th next year!!

April 28 & 29th are Dapper Day at epcot/mk respectively, so it's always a cool way to meet people and chat them up, lots of people around too!!

Jellyrolls is a great place to meet people! Definitely true!!

Also post a lot, on all kinds of social media/here too! If you're involved in the Disney Instagram community at all, it's pretty easy to find someone who's in the parks the same days you are, and meet up for a quick hello or drink or something.

The fastpasses that are hard to get are FOP, SDMT, and FEA. The fastpasses that you NEED to avoid INSANE lines are FOP, SDMT, FEA, PP.

I haven't done a meet up but I find that there are tons of people that will chat with you. I watched Illuminations with a couple that was from where I grew up, watched the MK parade with a local that was in for the day, helped a couple with their FP issues while waiting for the fireworks from Nebraska. I love that I never know who I'm going to talk to or meet at the parks! Everyone is in a good place and friendly so say Hi and enjoy! That being said - I don't care for table service solo so I either sit at the bar and talk to the cast member or read a book between courses on my cell phone. You'll have a blast - so relaxing when you make all the choices!
