I hate bubble wands

I am a mother myself, and I love children. I love to see children having fun. But those darn bubble wands are a menace.

The first time I saw one last week, spewing its happy little bubbles into the air I thought, "Oh, how adorable." But over the next six days as I continued to encounter walls of bubbles in the parks and downtown and while standing in lines, the bubbles became less and less adorable. Soap in my hair and on my clothing? Thank you, but no thank you.

I can't be the only one. Does anyone else hate the bubble wands?

I think they are cute and ended up buying them for my kids one trip. I hated them once I got home and found out they leaked in the suitcase.

LOL! My kids loved these. And I think they are cooler than the old bubble guns. Yes, they are annoying though. I wouldn't let my kids use theirs while we were waiting for Fantasmic! because there were too many people. They had fun using them walking out of the park though.

We've taken to joking that this is a new way Disney has discovered to keep guests smelling fresh and clean. :D My last trip was in July for the D23 Expo, and it was especially warm during that time-frame and there certainly were - ahem - ripe people we encountered.

I love bubble wands.....at home, at the park by my home, but not at an amusement park. Waiting in line is a great way to teach patience. It is okay to wait, talk, make up games in lines, instead of having to purchase items to keep kids/people entertained every second of the day.

3 of my 4 kids have them and it brings them a lot of joy. However, I try to be considerate of people around us. They can’t turn them on in lines, waiting for shows, or if an area is crowded. I do realize not everybody loves them as much as they do.

I don't buy them for my kids, they can get enough fun playing with everyone else's bubbles.

Yes lots of bubbles everywhere, DH and I even jokingly wondered how much bubble mixture DLR must go through a day.

But no walls of bubbles don't annoy me, even after 11 days in the parks...

And that's why you see so many adults playing in their phones while they wait...

As far as entertaining kids while in line, we bought the hidden mickey book, plus taught he kids paper scissors rock, peaknuckle and hand clap games, we don't wait in any lines longer than 25 minutes normally so pretty easy to entertain...

I liked the bubble guns far more. The bubble wands make a much smaller bubble and they tend to rise up a lot more faster than they did with the guns. With the guns, at least they tended to go straight out when first exiting the barrel before gently floating up. From the bubble wand, they go straight up fast and into my eyes :(

Not a fan either. I don't buy them for my kids as I find them an annoyance in the parks where space is tight and personal space in lines even tighter. I know many people are respectful of those around them but many are not. I once saw a kid a few families ahead of us in line at TSMM throw a huge fit because people (mostly other kids) were popping his bubbles.

Girl, you and me both! I especially loathe the adults who think it's funny to point the wand behind them and spray an endless flow of bubbles at the people behind them as they walk. Bubbles in my face, bubbles in my hair, bubbles bubbles eve-ry-where! lol

But in all seriousness..... STOP the bubbles!! I'm begging you!:worship:

We aren't locals, so I obviously don't encounter them at all around here and thought they were really fun! My kids absolutely loved them and the kids around had a blast catching the bubbles. When another kid in line had one, they would point them at each other and form this little kinship for a minute. They were like pure magic to them!

For us once-in-a-long-whilers to Disneyland, I totally see the appeal in a wand like this. They literally made my kid's whole trip (especially in long lines). It is half of all they talked about when we got home.

On the other hand, if I went to Disneyland frequently, I can see them getting annoying. But I can see other things like that smell of old turkey legs mixed with popcorn getting annoying too.
