Ship cruising to Cozumel without Flow Rider?

You all are experts, so I'm asking for help. I'm beginning to look at a cruise for our next vacation, and I know my kids would LOVE the flow rider. Unfortunately, they're about 10 inches too short so it may be easier to go on a ship without that amenity for our first cruise, and wait to go on a ship with that amenity when they're tall enough to be allowed to ride. On the other hand, they would LOVE the Save a Sea Turtle Experience - so I'm looking for something specific, I guess.

Is there an itinerary that would include that excursion - on a ship without a Flow Rider?

I wouldn't be so concerned about finding a ship without a flow rider. They are fully aft on upper deck. You do not run across them unless you are looking for them. In fact, unless you walk around the structures, you can't even see them from the deck on the Oasis Class. You would be sacrificing many activities and amenities not sailing a ship with them. If you must be without them, I might try an Explorer class vessel. This class has the Royal Promenade and ice skating rink with other great activities. It really is not that difficult to avoid them.

I may be mistaken but I think all of the Voyager class ships now have Flowriders.

I do agree though, it's easy to avoid that area. The only time I go near there is when I'm specifically going there for the Flowrider

You are correct. Guess its been awhile since I have sailed an Explorer vessel. Sorry. There is always Radiance class but you lose the Royal Promenade and ice rink.

There are whole areas of the ships that I manage to never see on any given sailing.

Same here. Never saw or even passed by the gym...lol . :smooth:

As others have said, it's easy to avoid the FlowRiders as they are at one end of the ship so you won't just walk by it. There are so many great ships out there (and lots of Royal ones have FlowRiders now) that I wouldn't eliminate a ship because of it.

How old are your kids?

Oasis was huge with so much to do ... you can easily avoid on a daily basis. Even from mini golf you have to go upstairs to get to them. They face the back of the ship and other than some people milling about they are not obvious. There is nothing else up those steps other than a bar. No reason to go.

It sounds like they aren't even close to tall enough for sake of arguements, so I would just tell next time when they grow, lots. No way I would give up amenities that I want because of it.

Completely agree that they are avoidable. Even if they were to stumble upon them, the lines are usually long-ish and they operate odd hours it seems. There's SO much else to do that they won't even miss it.
