DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Job 1 done for the week. I'd call it, but i would just go hack up a lung on a princess. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Take a hit of bourbon. Some people say add honey to it but why waste good bourbon? Get better soon.

Agree, they used to have a good breakfast but now it is a character meal. Off the list now. I really like Trattoria and hope this one sticks.

Hope everyone has a good day and get better Norm.

Thanks. I tried bourbon, that's my preventative medicine. I need to start drinking more to keep from getting sick.

Have you tried the character breakfast at Trattoria? DW wants to try it. Me, I'd rather not.

Sorry to hear that Norm. Hope you get feeling better soon and it's not that crud.
?

Thanks, and I think it is. Still played tennis last night and did well enough.

Last day in the office this week, on the road for a basketball tournament tomorrow. I hope the coach let's me start.

I saw the picture and the before and after x-ray.

Feel better Norm, remember booze makes everything better

Thanks. Last day here as well. Well, last day at one job. I've been trying the booze with not much success.

And, for those who missed id, those x-rays included Wolverine's adamantium skeleton x-rays along with his daughter's. Quite funny.

Bourbon, hot lemon, honey. Works a charm. Maybe not right now, coz its probably about 11AM over your way. Feel better mate.

I really want to go to Il Mulino, but I can never seem to get round to it. Never been in the Swolphin....

Pirate. I can drink whenever.

If you find me again at WDW, you can buy me dinner at Il Mulino.

Yep, be definitely interested to hear about it, as well as Ravello from CJ. I've always shyed away from Italian at WDW, apart from the newbie rookie no research mistake last minute walk in of Tony's. I still bear the scars.

Tony's was rough. It may be better with alcohol. I would try it again.

That brings up a whole lot of British words that mean something totally different in America...

British boot = trunk
British bonnet = hood
British garden = yard
British f*g = cigarette
British bum = butt
British cracker = confetti party favor
British bugger = messed up (or someone who messes with bugs?)
British rubbish = garbage
British checker = Playing piece in a game using the same board as chess
British chips = french fries

These are some of the ones I can remember...I know there are a lot more. I had learned a bunch when I was supposed to be stationed at Alconbury, but alas, that didn't happen.

Thanks for the British translation guide. :lmao:

You missed some like wanker, bollocks, cheeky, ...

God give me strength. Four times I used the, "We need to wrap it up because me phone is going to die."

:rotfl2: Makeup at a water park. :lmao: Must stop, hurting sides. :lmao: :rotfl:

I still chuckle over it.

Last day in the office this week, on the road for a basketball tournament tomorrow. I hope the coach let's me start. ;)

"Put me in coach, I'm ready to play." Good luck to Declan in the tournament.

I saw the picture and the before and after x-ray, they were amazing.

Yes, they were. She busted out today.

You could always try smoke signals.

Too windy today or I would have rather do it that way.

Thanksgiving is where we give thanks that a group of English went on a voyage to create footlongs and Bourbon, two of western civilisations greatest achievements. Obviously the footlong has to come with everything.

Have you visited Chicago? You have to try a Chicago dog. Nothing like a street dog in New York though.

I really want to go to Il Mulino, but I can never seem to get round to it. Never been in the Swolphin....

Stayed at one of them a few years ago (I think it was the swan). They were redoing the lobby so I got a great rate. Nice place and the beds were real comfy.

I have an ADR for Il Mulino in February. My wife is Italian and is an amazing cook, so most Italian places leave me feeling meh. Speaking of which...counting the days to Christmas and lasagna. I'll let you know after we get back how Il Mulino rates on my very discriminating scale.

I grew up at my Grandmother's table. Homemade pasta, meatballs and sauce you would kill for (except when she put squid in it). Mulino was good, not great but would like to try it again. Much prefer Trattoria. I love their Bolognese sauce.

I don't do it anymore but when I had the family here for Christmas, there was either a pan of Lasagna or Baked Ziti on the menu.

Yep, be definitely interested to hear about it, as well as Ravello from CJ. I've always shyed away from Italian at WDW, apart from the newbie rookie no research mistake last minute walk in of Tony's. I still bear the scars.

At the mention of Tony's I threw up in my mouth a little bit. Last time I was there I ordered the baked Ziti. It was a plate of elbow macaroni, a god awful sauce and some nondescript cheese sprinkled on top. The kid wouldn't let me go into the kitchen and Gibbs slap him.

We don't call it Canadian bacon and we never gave it that name.

The stuff the foolish Americans buy thinking it's Canadian.

Little touchy on the subject?

Had to look that one up...I'd have to agree the British definition is more fun!

Agree. Something sexy about it.

Job 1 done for the week. I'd call it, but i would just go hack up a lung on a princess. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Lets hope so.

Thanks. I tried bourbon, that's my preventative medicine. I need to start drinking more to keep from getting sick.

Have you tried the character breakfast at Trattoria? DW wants to try it. Me, I'd rather not.

The only thing about it that tempts me is they have Rapunzel and Ariel, two of the Pirate Princess's favorite characters. That and she still loves character meals.

Tony's was rough. It may be better with alcohol. I would try it again.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'd compare it to wanting BBQ and getting a McRib at McDonalds,

budgie smugglers

Unfortunately budgie smugglers are often spotted when I go to the Keys.

I remember looking at Tony's when I was making ADRs for MK and I thought...no, I remember walking past there and thinking it didn't smell right/good. After seeing the comments here, glad I avoided it.

Little touchy on the subject?
Ya think?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'd compare it to wanting BBQ and getting a McRib at McDonalds,
Oooh, if it's that bad, I definitely need to never consider it in the future.

Yeah, when I lived at HAFB and up and down the keys, I remember thinking pretty often "Dude, you have no business wearing that...leave the bikinis to the girls where they belong!"

tion guide. :lmao:

You missed some like wanker, bollocks, cheeky, ...
I never said it was a comprehensive guide. ;)
I'm sure I missed a LOT.

I ended up looking up on wikipedia and there are a TON of 'em. So, yep missed a LOT.

Survived tennis tonight without being able to breathe. You think i would learn by now?

budgie smugglers.........

How could I have forgot those? Maybe it was the trauma. :lmao:

I'll have to try one if those hot dogs one of those days, but i only plan to go to New York if i in the lotto and can arrive via limo and never have to drive.

The McRib might be more tolerable if you're drunk. I guess Tony's is worse than that? We went on our honeymoon 17 years ago and it wasn't very good. There aren't a lot of options at MK.

Agree. Only girls should wear bikinis.
:goodvibes:goodvibes

Yes mate, we went in 2008 for a couple of weeks. Got to go to Wrigley and have a dog there. You're right though, there's something about buying a Nathans on a street corner that brings an edge to the dog. Bit like Pizza by the slice in Rome or NY or Chips out of newspaper over here.

No subway?

I had Penne Pomodoro, I figured they couldn't mess that up. How wrong I was.

We don't have those over here. I don't think I'm missing much.
Nice place and the beds were real comfy.
Isn't it Starwood? I always found Starwood hotels had really comfy beds and good toiletries.
I ended up looking up on wikipedia and there are a TON of 'em. So, yep missed a LOT.
I gets worse when you throw accents into it. I have to say my name in the States with an American twang, otherwise no-one has a clue what I'm on about.

Looking forward to the Gators/UAB tomorrow as a brand new fan. It's not on our feed this week, they are carrying the South Florida game.

Back to call it later chaps, have a great day.

I've had hot dogs in NY. I've had Pizza in Fierenze (Florence). While in Rome, we had some amazing sit down meals at night.

No subway?
Subway sucks!! Oh, you meant the transportation option not the sandwich chain.

We don't have those over here. I don't think I'm missing much.
Nope, not at all. Think spam pressed into the shape of ribs and bbq sauce on it.

Huh? How many different ways could you pronounce Dan?

Speaking of "American" accent, this is hillarious if you haven't already seen it.

Actually brings up another British <-> American translation I forgot yesterday
Lift = Elevator

Hey fellas,

Thanks to all of you who were checking in on us or following along as my daughter had surgery this week. The surgery itself was a complete success--no issues whatsoever. My daughter is doing really well overall. She came home yesterday. However, she was finally off the IV meds and was in a lot of pain yesterday. She had a decent night last night and seems a little better today, so hopefully that will be the worst of it.

:dogdance::sunny::dogdance::sunny::dogdance::sunny: Can't find a praying hands emoji or something like that, so...:worship:

I don't do fb, so if you could post before/after xrays here, I've heard they're pretty amazing.

Happy Friday. Worked a couple hours and then took the rest of the day sick. You all stay well.

We don't have those over here. I don't think I'm missing much.
.

Maybe it's meat. It's in the shape of a rack of ribs, except boneless, covered in BBQ sauce, and put on a bun. It's an experience. Be near the toilet.

The year was 2010. I had chicken parmesan. I didn't know it could taste that bad. And it was my birthday to top it all off. Ruined it.

I figured I might as well share my Tony's horror story.

I've had Pizza in Fierenze (Florence).
That's one place I really want to go one day. Not only for the food (which must be incredible) but the history and architecture. Looks like a beautiful place.

Saw a few of the FB updates. Been thinking of you and your family. Hopes for a speedy recovery.

Whelp...Tony's just keep getting pushed further and further into the not if I'm starving and nothing else is open category.

I liked Florence better than Rome. Rome was okay, but had a more commercial feel and dirtier. Don't get me wrong, it was cool seeing the Colloseum and the vatican and many of the fountains. Florence was glorious to me and seemed more "Italian", but what was best was the agriturismo in Sicily and driving around to Palermo, Cefalu, Catania, Mt Aetna, etc.. Some of the most beautiful countryside, but also some of the tiniest of roads. If you're ever going to Sicily, I would highly recommend Agriturisimo Santa Venera near Polizzi Generosa. I will also say gelato in Italy is phenominal! If I recall correctly, the gelato place at downtown Disney is 1 of 2 stores and the other one is in Florence. Almost certain that's the other store we stopped at when in Florence.

Thats pretty good. Look for a monologue for a guy called Mickey Flanagan. He speaks like me, we are both from the East End. If you web search Mickey Flanagan come in your house. It's nsfw.

Its my surname that's the issue. When you say it in an English accent, it just dissipates, and I have to say it at least 3 times, so I have to affect the accent to get it over the line.

That's almost a dare.

Nice one Mark, all the best to you and yours from over here. Hopefully last night was a blip and it will get easier from now on.

OK boys, that's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. Last one in Shula's Lounge for Old Fashioneds has to take Nala home. And let me tell ya, she loves to pin ya down. You'll definitely feel the love tonight. Anyone who get hammered and suggests Tony's or a McRib is straight in the penalty box.

I'll text it to you. I can control who sees it on FB, but not here. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Jeff! It'll get a little better every day.

Nice one Mark, all the best to you and yours from over here. Hopefully last night was a blip and it will get easier from now on.

Thanks, Dan. Short-term pain for long-term gain is the plan!

Today was another day on the phone. Not for clients but the govm't is supposed to send me money. Long story but they make you jump through hoops and I am not any closer to getting a check. Plus I discovered some assets from my late wife that I need transferred into my name. You would think I was trying to rob Fort Knox. Finally, the Honey Do List is getting long so started to tackle some of those. Really sucks when you make up your own list.

Yeah, when I lived at HAFB and up and down the keys, I remember thinking pretty often "Dude, you have no business wearing that...leave the bikinis to the girls where they belong!"

There is one guy at the dive operation we use that only wears budgie smugglers. Dude, come on. We call him speedo.

We went on our honeymoon 17 years ago and it wasn't very good.

We went when the kid was young and it was mediocre at best. Last time I was there was a couple of years ago and it has gotten worse.

Love Wrigley. The first night I was in London I was feeling a bit peckish and there was a fish and chips shop across the hotel. Mom and Pop place and the owner was a cool guy and we talked a bit. When the chips were done figuring I was a colonist, said I suppose you want catsup instead of vinegar. Man those chips were good.

Isn't it Starwood? I always found Starwood hotels had really comfy beds and good toiletries.

Yes, it is a Starwood. Didn't notice the crapper but the beds were comfy.

I've had hot dogs in NY. I've had Pizza in Fierenze (Florence). While in Rome, we had some amazing sit down meals at night.

One of the best meals I had over my life was a small place in Florence. Had bistecca fiorentina. Oh my god!

She is tough. The differences in the X-rays were amazing. I especially like the upgrades you suggested. Pixie dust to her and the family.

You all stay well.

You to Bubba. Your experience has upped the urgency for me to get a flu shot.

The year was 2010. I had chicken parmesan. I didn't know it could taste that bad. And it was my birthday to top it all off. Ruined it.

I figured I might as well share my Tony's horror story.

One of many. It is such a shame too. Perfect location, I like the structure of the building but since they pack it serving carp, why make it better?

That's one place I really want to go one day. Not only for the food (which must be incredible) but the history and architecture. Looks like a beautiful place.

If I win the Lotto forget about Golden Oaks, give me a townhouse in Florence. My favorite city in the entire world. The food, the architecture, the art, the people... almost teared up when we left.

Whelp...Tony's just keep getting pushed further and further into the not if I'm starving and nothing else is open category.

If I could only get control of the MK for 1 week. I did a podcast on Italian food at Disney and trashed Tonys both during the show and Aaron taped our comments after we signed off. I really let it loose then.

OK boys, that's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. Last one in Shula's Lounge for Old Fashioneds has to take Nala home. And let me tell ya, she loves to pin ya down. About damn time. The last two days ruined the week for me. Looking forward to the games tomorrow.

Looking forward to the Gators/UAB tomorrow as a brand new fan. It's not on our feed this week, they are carrying the South Florida game.

They could get beat. Injuries have destroyed the offensive line, running backs, the secondary... The furor over Chip Kelly as coach has died a bit down. Personally my choice would be Scott Frost from Central Florida.
