Need to pick one shopping day on our Feb Cruise, other 2 will be beach type days.

Best Shopping of:
1. Cozumel
2. Grand Cayman
2. Falmouth

Was leaning towards Cozumel, because we have been there before and would like to do the beach in Grand Cayman and something else in Falmouth.

Also looking for fun beach active things in Falmouth if you have the experience.

Thanks
Ed

Ed, that is an open ended question. What are you shopping for? I have been to these 3 ports many times and each has it's generic touristy stuff but if you are looking for something specific... that will help everyone answer you.

Sorry was vauge. We are not big shoppers. Maybe a little jewelry but not too much. T-shirts, alcohol and other swag. General stuff no big big ticket items.

Cozumel would be my pick. Plenty of shopping near the port.

Cozumel would be the best of the 3 for t-shirts and gifts. There are 2 good stores with big selections. My personal preference to buy tequilla is Los Cincos Sole at the end of the strip. They have shirts, gifts, vanilla, clothes a restaurant. We have also bought from Viva Mexico. There is also several shops along the strip. Mega is only a block the opposite direction and they sell liquor, beer and wine. We went there this year for the first time and picked up a couple 6 packs for the room. DH and I like to walk all they way to Los Cincos, pricing out stuff and then pick up everything on the way back. For jewelry, make sure to stick with the recommended stores.

Have a great trip.

Cozumel has a lot of cheap options walking distance. But also has that typical mexican tourist town vibe where everyone is trying to scam/hustle/swindle or sell you something. You can barely walk 3 feet without someone trying to sell you a custom yarn bracelet with your name on it. Grand Cayman is a little more relaxed vibe and they have the best Margaritaville to grab a cold drink after shopping.

I've been to all three and would say Cozumel and Falmouth were about equal but had different stuff. Grand Cayman would be last, but only because there isn't a lot of shopping at the Port. At Cozumel you sort of walk through all the shops and there are more shops , but Falmouth had a decent amount and some unique stuff. We bought a really cool wood carving from a guy there.

I saw you were asking for excursion recommendations for Falmouth. I'm not sure what excursions DCL offers as we were there on RC, but we did a tubing expedition through River Rapids Adventures on the Rio Bueno river. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attract...entures-Falmouth_Trelawny_Parish_Jamaica.html

It was probably one of my favorite excursions to date and was quite reasonably priced. I will say you should probably be somewhat in shape because you do have to carry your tube a bit. Here is the synopsis:
  • Picked up at port in van w/ great tour guide who talked to us about Falmouth the entire way, drive about 20 min
  • Got to place and was given a tube depending on our size, they had small ones for our 7 year old and a medium one for our 11 year old and a very large one for my mom's bf who is 6' 5"! They also gave us life preservers.
    • I'd recommend water shoes as you walk a ways on a path from the tubing place to the river
  • On walk to river they stopped every so often and explained interesting plants and shared interesting stories.
  • Got to River, we had two guides for our party of 8. they rode on boogie boards. They had us all hold hands and they guided our tubes down the rapids.
  • Was very awesome, they sang, joked, etc.
  • River was very fast at points so it wasn't a boring tubing ride, but also not so fast that it felt dangerous.
  • At end they let my kids the boogie boards.
  • They also had a place you could jump in pretty deep
  • They then loaded everyone onto speed boats and you end at a really nice beach where they have food/drink for sale.
  • I purchased pics for a very decent price.
  • Same van w/ our stuff from before picked us up, stopped at one shopping destination and then brough us back to the cruise ship.
Its was a great excursion for a great price.. bring cash for extras
