DLP Newbie trip planning question

We have made countless trips to DLR and numerous trips to WDW, but planning a trip to DLP is new to me. I'm currently on the DLP website and looking at accommodations. I have a question that I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable can answer.

  • The website didn't say if I book through them if payment is in full or a percentage. At WDW it's usually one night stay for the deposit. I'm hesitant to enter payment info until I know if it will be the full amount of a percentage.

Thank you.

some things you need to know about Disneyland Paris which are different to the American Parks

  1. You dont have to book using the website for your country. Disneyland Paris has different deals and offers on the different country websites. Most of us regulars would advise AGAINST booking with the American site as it is by far the most expensive
  2. The other country websites to check are
  3. http://www.disneylandparis.ie/
    http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk
    http://www.disneylandparis.fr
    http://www.disneylandparis.de
    http://www.disneylandparis.it
    http://www.disneylandparis.be
    http://www.disneylandparis.nl
  4. Disneyland Paris does not mail anything in the post. You get a confirmation email which you bring with you to checkin
  5. When you book direct with Disneyland Paris you are booking a hotel and park hopper tickets package
  6. Your park tickets are valid for both arrival day and departure day
  7. You can book direct with Disney through any of the websites. When you book through the website you will pay the full amount at the time of booking
  8. You can also book direct with Disney by phone. To call Disneyland Paris and not have to pay the international phone charges, just call the regular phone number for Walt Disney World in Florida and ask to be transferred to Disneyland Paris.
  9. When you book direct with Disney by phone you pay a 15% deposit and the balance is payable 30 or 60 days before arrivial, I cant remember which
  10. When you have booked you will get a confirmation email with your itinerary, you will need this email to check in
  11. Once you have your confirmation number you need to go to the website / country you booked with, not the country you live in. You will need to create a new MY DISNEY ACCOUNT on that website
  12. When you log in to your new My Disney Account you will see your itinerary. If you have a balance to pay you will see an online payment form.
  13. To pay your balance you can either phone again or pay online

@BadPinkTink Thank you! That’s a lot of valuable information.

Question about booking through other countries pages, can you still get that rate by phone? I thought that the US price was pretty decent, but if I can get a better deal I’m all for it.

Yes you should. I live in Ireland and for my last visit in 2016 the offer on the French website suited me best. I rang the number on the Irish website and said I wanted to book the offer on the French website and I was transferred to the French call centre.

Also some more information
  1. ADR can only be booked by phone
  2. ADR opens 60 days before arrivial
  3. ADR is not as manic as Walt Disney World but it is still advisable to book in advance. Some places like character dining, Walts, Captain Jacks, Chez Remy book up quickly
  4. When you book ADR you dont have to give payment details and you are not charged for a no show like in the American parks

I used the advise of @BadPinkTink and visited all of the different websites suggested and found that the French site was much better then the US site with all of the other sites falling somewhere in the middle. We were able to get a Golden Forest room at Sequoia Lodge with half board and express train luggage service for €1317 ($1612) while the US site was $2220 for the same exact thing!

I called 407-934-7639 as soon as the recording came on I said Disneyland Paris and was transferred to a UK calling center the eventually answered after a long hold. Once the representative answered I said I wanted to make a booking with an offer from the French site. I was put back on hold. After another long while a lovely woman named Lenna answered and i was able to book my trip. She spoke perfect English and was so helpful. We gave a €222.29 deposit with the rest due 30 prior to arrival.

Make sure the you call after 9:00 am in France when the call center is open. Found that out the hard way. Also, allow plenty of time if you do your booking this way, I was on the call for an hour and 15 minutes.

WOW!!!! THANK YOU for such detailed information!!! I was looking at different sites ... is UK the only non-euro site? I'm assuming what I saw on the French site is a Euro symbol? Also, once I set up my account on a different site, is there a way to translate my account to english? I was able to navigate the booking site only because I'm so familiar with the US one. Have you found one site to be a better deal than another? THANK YOU!

Cheers!

Yes, The UK is the only Euro site on the list I posted

I'm assuming what I saw on the French site is a Euro symbol?
Yes, this is the Euro sign €, this is The UK pounds Sterling sign £

Also so, once I set up my account on a different site, is there a way to translate my account to english? I was able to navigate the booking site only because I'm so familiar with the US one.
No the account as far as I know can not be translated into English. When I booked in 2016 on the French website, I did the same as you, I had the Irish website open in a different tab so I knew what the sections were. My account was in French and all the emails I received were in French. I just copied and pasted into Google translate to get a rough idea of what I was sent.

THANK YOU for ALL of your help!!! Cheers!

@BadPinkTink ... You have been a TREMENDOUS help ... THANK YOU for ALL of your knowledge!! Could you help me with another question:

Given that the UK is on Holiday May 28th - June 1st, from your experience, would it be best to wait and arrive June 1st and leave June 4th/June 5th (We might travel to Paris one day from DLP) OR arrive May 28th and leave June 1st ... I'm trying to figure out if weekdays with Holiday from UK is more/less crowded than the weekend dates? Thank You! Cheers!

The UK holiday as you have found out is May 28 to June 1st
The Irish holiday weekend is Friday June 1 to Monday June 4th

So I would say that whole period will be busy, with the weekends being more crowded due to the locals being off week / school

Honestly just pick what days suit you best. I go to Disneyland California every year in June, yes its busy and crowded but I still have an amazing time and do everything I want to to do. By the fact that you are here on the Dis gives you a huge advantage, as most Europeans dont plan or research Disneyland Paris.
