I just got our ogt room assignment for 2146 on the Wonder. I was looking at the deck plans and it looks to be at the end, but when looking at the plans pre-2016 dry dock it was not. Interested it what happened to those other rooms and what is there now? Hope we got a good room and a large porthole!

The space was probably used for upgraded mechanics. We had room 2144 on the Magic (same deck plans). It does have a large single porthole, however, it's the smaller large porthole. You can see the difference here:

The midship oceanviews have a bigger porthole than the forward and aft oceanviews.

Ha! Didn’t know that!
We had deck 2 forward couple of weeks ago and even though we were very skeptical of deck 2 - loved it.
Will purposely choose deck 2 over deck 5, 6 or 7 oceanview when we can’t do verandah.
This is deck 2 porthole from the inside.
Forward.
So if we had a midship room it would be even bigger? Awesome!

Why do you prefer deck 2 oceanview over the higher floor oceanviews? Thanks.

Honestly, going into the cruise I didn’t think I would prefer deck 2.
First of all, it turned out to be a great location. So quick to get to dinner, event in the atrium, shows and also coming back from ports. The only time we took an elevator was going up to deck 9.
Also, loved the view. I felt I was comfortably well above the water, but still had a great view of the ocean or port without having to stand against the window. Fellow cruisers on deck 7 couldn’t see the ocean as well as we could :)
I was so very surprised how much I enjoyed deck 2 oceanview.
We still prefer verandah, but this is now my alternative.

Did you find that the room was “noisy”? Some reviews have said that part of the ship is.

Hard to say. It was our very first cruise ever, and I was prepared for unusual noises. I'd say, yes it's noisy on port days as it's close to the thrusters and they are used during docking. However, since that's usually in the morning, chances are you're going to be up then anyway, preparing for a day in port.

Like staying at a hotel/motel, there's going to be different sounds than you'll hear at home. But I don't consider that "noisy".

We had cabins 2074 and 2076 which are connecting. The cabin was quiet and as another noted, we found it convenient to everything...even a laundry room...but got our exercise to get to the adult areas and spa. We have the same cabins for the 2019 Panama Canal cruise. Can't wait to return home!!!

We had 2635 and 2637 on the Wonder NYE cruise and it was very noisy near the back of the ship. It was very annoying. We love deck 2, but I would avoid 2 aft going forward.
