US Toys and Clothes?

We're planning a trip to visit friends from the UK who are currently living in Germany. They have two grandkids (boy/7 and girl/1) and I would like to bring a few gifts when we go. Any recommendations for things from the US that are expensive/hard to find in Europe? I know the 7 year old likes superhero stuff. I was thinking about clothes for the baby. I will be visiting Orlando next month if any Disney/Universal things would work.

Thanks!

Do not buy Games or Toys that use USA power ( 110 V ) Vidio Games will not work in Europe

Buy clothes in Walmart remember Size is different in Germany ( Please refrain from having USA plastered on T shirts as

it will not be appreciated )

Remember that Germany & Europe is full of Theme Parks .

Superhero stuff is a good idea.

Because off the Political feelings ........ just like Iam British with Union Jack T shirts look out of place in Germany.

You are obviously entitled to your opinion, but I have lived in Germany and didn't experience ill feeling towards the British or the Americans. I am not sure if you are speaking from experience or if that is your perception but, like anything, it is all about perspective. If a small child is wearing a t-shirt with a US logo or the US flag, I cannot imagine any German would show animosity towards the child, any more than I or anyone I know would show animosity towards a child here who was wearing a t-shirt with a German logo or motif. Even an adult wearing a t-shirt with a British or American symbol or emblem would not attract any attention unless their behaviour warranted negative attention.

When we come out, we always head to the OshKosh Bgosh outlets. They have some pretty cool things for the little ones that you can't get over here. Candy is expensive over here, apart from that most things are universal now. Maybe Disney theme park stuff?

You could bring some candy:
Mint M&M’s
Caramel M&M’s
Tropical Skittles
Sour Skittles
White fudge pretzel flipz

Are very hard to come by in Europe (only available from importers).

Unique to the US/Disneyworld clothes, such as T-shirt’s (either with or without disney world plastered over them) would be a good shout. I have a couple of T-shirt’s that you can only purchase in the parks (like the fab 4 crossing Main Street, Beatles style) and they’re great, pretty unique / rarely seen items over here.

My relatives 'back home' love it when I send them 'American Sports' gear, hats, jersey's shirts etc.. from the NFL, NBA, MLB. Makes them feel 'cool'... so I send a lot of that back. Expensive 'sneakers' or trainers are also a winner, although they may be a little young for that lol... The rule of thumb is 'dollars for pounds'.... whatever it is in dollars here it is in pounds in England..... Not sure how that works with the Euro for Germany and the like but its a good rule of thumb, not exact but a good idea to gauge value.

As stated, video games and DVD's will often be regionalized and so not work. I wouldn't buy US Chocolate, why have cotton when you can have silk? lol....

Hats that can actually be worn from Disney also go down well, along with the weird little hand toys they sell in all the park stores.

Hope this helps!
