2018 Free Dining Watch Thread V3

I booked the trip for her on my account, as she is in my Friends and Family list, and I am not currently on the reservation. If I don't end up going on the trip, I'm curious if she is able to do the same for me (i.e., call from her room while she is at Disney, and book the bounce back offer in my name, as we are on each other's accounts). I'm assuming the answer is no, but...

You are correct, the answer is no.

Any adult currently on the reservation can book a bounceback room of their own...
No. You need to be on the reservation and on site. You must be there in order to book a BB.

Nope. You have to be on the current reservation and physically be there to book it under your name.

Exactly.

Super excited for tonight! I already have FD booked at Pop but I'm considering moving to Movies to save a little money. Guess we'll see if that will be included for the first time in a while or not.

You can check that now if Movies is part of last years offer. Keep in mind that if the offer code changes to the new FD you will pay prevailing rates for the room and park tickets so it may end up costing you more.

This is a dumb question, but are bounce back offers generally for the same dates you're presently there, or some random dates? Are they usually the same offer you have, like if you're there with free dining, will the BB include free dining?

It wasn't part of last years offer but some rumors are saying that it could be included this year. I did do the math already and with updated pricing, it comes out to $90 less than my current Pop reservation. I probably won't even switch but I'm going to make that decision on a whim.

Why is my page a UK page?? I'm logged in and can see all my reservations... I refreshed, logged out and in... ugh!!!! I don't want a problem for tomorrow...

I've been recently defaulting to the US website. I'm Canadian. Yesterday, I kept defaulting to the UK website.
I might be in South America by the time tomorrow rolls around. :rotfl2:

No..each adult in the room can book a BB but they have to actually be there in order to book it. You can't book for someone else who isn't there.
It has been a good long time since I read the bounce back offer. We usually go when we feel the need for some Disney so i have never booked a bounce back. Glad to have the new info. I will be checking for bounce back this trip ---- Just in case it covers star wars.

Also remember if you are driving or renting a car a new reservation will incur the new parking fees, it shouldn't if you are modifying.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a FD Bounceback for some dates between May and the end of September. But I bet November/December dates will be shut out.

I think it will depend on when Star Wars Land opens. Disney is expecting crowds for that time and I don't they will need a FD offer to fill the rooms. But I have been wrong before :)

I'll be there 8/29-9/12
What are the chances there will be a FD bounceback for star wars opening????

Guess we'll have to wait until you go and report back to us....really is no way of knowing what their BB will be this year for next year's dates.

I haven’t quite made up my mind on whether where gonna do room only or the free dining it depends on what we can get. If we get the room only would there be any problems on dropping one day if I needed to ? Thanks for your help.

Shouldn't be as much of a chance with room discount as it doesn't work the same way. Room discounts are only good if you're there the exact dates of the promo. Ex: Aug 21-31 is the promo, but you check in on the 20th. You'd have discount for 21st on, but not for the 20th. Free dining, you only have to check IN on a date that is included and you get it for entire stay.

No, there are specific dates included just like you're seeing for the FD promo, but there are usually more dates included in the BB offer. No way of knowing whether it will be a free dining or room discount until you're there; it has no connection to what kind of discount you're currently using.

I currently have a standard room only reservation at POP 9/6 to 9/12.

Can I modify the reservation when FD drops or do I have to make a new one?
