Please educate me - Flying from Toronto + Magical Express

I wish we could clear customs in Vic! :(

I was going to put DME tags on in Victoria but agent told us not to until we cleared customs in SEA.
Travel agent? I don’t know why. It doesn’t have anything to do with bag routing until they arrive in MCO. Maybe ask agent in Vic airport about it. It’s not a big deal, just one more thing to remember to pack. 2 trips ago I forgot my cell phone. :scared: Husband had to Fed X it to me.
Is ferry from Vic-Seattle expensive? Always thought that would be fun to take ferry and overnight in Seattle pre flight.

I just entered Global News contest for Egypt exibit. Looks fun. They fly you to Vic and overnight at Empress. Fingers crossed. I’d love to see that exhibit but ferry is so expensive taking car over to Victoria.

Sorry, not travel agent, the airline agent when we checked our bags in at Victoria airport was the person who told me not to put the tags on until we cleared customs at SEA.

Other than flying, there are 3 ways to get from Vic-Sea.

1. Take the Swartz Bay - Tsawwaassen ferry and drive down via the I5. Costs aprox. $100 for car, driver and 1 passenger. Ferry is 1.5 hours, drive time is aprox. 2.5 hours plus border delays.

2. Take the Coho from Victoria inner harbour to Port Angeles and drive to SEA. Costs $84 USD for car, driver and 1 passenger. Ferry is 1.5 hours, drive time is aprox. 2.25 hours.

3. Take the Clipper from Victoria inner harbour to Seattle inner harbour. This is a passenger only ferry so no car. Cost for 2 adults is $230 USD. Ferry takes 2.75 hours and you still need to figure out how to get from Seattle inner harbour to SEA.

Too bad there isn’t a ferry from Vancouver to Seattle. It would be cost prohibitive for us to take ferry to Swartz Bay, then Clipper. But it always sounded like a fun trip. Thanks for the info!
We just drive I5 to Seattle when we fly from there. Takes me 3 hrs. Guess we’ll continue that way.

Yeah, unless you are already in Victoria, I would not pay to get on the island and then have to pay to get off of it again!

OP back again and finally close to our flight to Orlando from Toronto.

Question for those who use Nexus. Do I need to take computer, etc out of my carry-on luggage if I use Nexus? Looked at the great limk @Donald - my hero provided but I can't quite tell from the information there. In Buffalo we can leave shoes on, computers in carry-on, CPAP in case, etc. Is it the same in Toronto if we are TSA-PRE and flying with Nexus card? (We will also have our Passports with us as this is required too.)

TIA!

I think it’s the same in Toronto as in Buffalo, at least as far as my online research is indicating. But, our Nexus cards just came in the mail yesterday, and we first use them for a YYZ-MCO flight a week tomorrow, I’m not 100%. However, I can post after we get back (so Dec 10th-ish) and let you know for sure. I’m really looking forward to the shorter pre-check line and streamlined process, especially since the flight there leaves at 7am... ;-)

Thanks! You’re going to love Nexus! We’ll be at Disney the same time you are as we fly down on the 8th. Have a great trip!

Yep, this. We are flying direct from Regina to Orlando and because we don't have a pre-clearance for US customs we'll be in the same boat. Will have to collect/re'check' luggage for ME to forward it to the resort for us.
