I have a DVC Gold AP for WDW, so I can download all our PhotoPass photos from WDW at no charge. I didn't think it was "good" at Aulani. HOWEVER, we visited Aulani a few weeks ago while staying down the road at the Marriott, and we couldn't help getting a photo with the Stitch statue (I was with DF, who's 90, as well as DH). We had them take photos with DH's camera as well. But yesterday I found the Aulani PhotoPass card and decided to try to view the photos. I entered the number in the Claim Photos section of my PhotoPass account, and lo and behold, an Aulani tab was added at the top with the various WDW tabs, and there were the Aulani photos. And when I opened them, each one had the little Download button, and I was able to download the ones I wanted at no charge.

Thanks, Disney!

I knew this to be true also, due to reports I had read here. Thankfully I knew it going in because the PP people at Aulani told me that I would NOT be able to download them for free with the entitlements from the DVC gold AP for WDW.

I didn't know it until after we got home & bought the cd. One thing I did notice was that all the pictures from aunty's and a couple other pictures that were missing we had to have the photopass people in the shop find and add to the disc weren't on the WDW photopass. So just beware, some pictures might be missing if you choose to not purchase their cd.

Thanks for the info! Last time I went I was able to combine the Aulani and Disneyland PhotoPass photos for one price since it was 2 consecutive weeks.

That's awesome I didn't know that! Thanks for posting!

Yes it's true. Confirmed. I inquired about this a lot months ago and back then only 1 person knew to be true.

But caution... I would suggest not boasting this at the resort. The Photopass folks are AMAZING at Aulani and take numerous pictures for you trying to get it perfect. If they learn they may not get a commission or share of sales bc you have an annual pass that gives it to you already, it might affect this great service. As another poster said, they know nothing of this. I'd keep it mum.

That's GREAT advice! Thanks!

Does anyone know if this still holds true??? Traveling to Aulani next week and need to know if I need to go ahead and pay or if I can still access them this way.

I’d also love to know

I just downloaded and installed the WDW app on my iPhone, logged into my account and my Aulani photos show up saying they were taken at WDW. If you have an AP that gives you access you to download these photos I can’t see how it wouldn’t work, the app doesn’t seem to be able to tell the difference between WDW and Aulani!

I guess you could just use the app on your vacation to see if they appear after a few photos have been taken and to check if you can download them before you leave.

Note they do NOT show up in the Disneyland app.

We will be checking into Aulani in one week and have PhotoPass attached to our DVC Gold AP. When we have pictures taken at WDW they have scanned our magic bands and the pictures showed up in our WDW app. How do they determine PhotoPass at Aulani? Do we show our room keys? We don't want to be charged for the pictures and will gratefully accept them if they appear for free!

The first photographer will give you a PhotoPass card. You should then be able to add that card to your WDW PhotoPass account. Also, if you have kids, they have PhotoPass wristbands they can put around the kids wrists so that you can keep track of any photos they take at Aunty’s etc.

Once they give you the Photopass card how long do the pictures last? 45 days like WDW? I’m asking because I bought a Gold AP, but am not activating it till December. Going to Aulani in Sept. Was wondering if I can wait to load the pictures from the card till then.

When we activated our first Gold AP after the PhotoPass benefit was implemented, within a short time every photo we had had taken in the previous year magically reappeared in my account!
