Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS RESORT Information & Questions

Thanks so much! We haven't stayed at all stars in years. Last trip there was in 2005 and all of our trips since have been at Pop. Honestly i'm not a fan of the refurbed rooms at pop-they look very undisney to me and almost hospital like. I know i'm in the minority and most love the new rooms so please no flames. Im glad sports wont be refurbed yet.

Anyway we are excited for our trip and can see all stars have added a lot since we've last been. So excited!!!

Same! I like that they added in queen size beds and I do like that you can raise one to make room if needed, but that’s about it. They’re so boring to me!

Agree-love the new POP beds,LARGE TV,Murphy bed,"Barn Doors",greatly increased storage space,coffeemaker,etc.

If they were carpeted and had MUCH more "color" and a little "Disney theming",I would LOVE them!:)

Maybe the All-Stars will have more "color".

Lauren, Glad to know Im not the only one! People are raving over the new rooms and I just don't get it. Honestly I love pop, the location, theming of the buildings and having a room over looking the lake were all big plusses. But honestly we chose sports because of the old style rooms. We aren't in the rooms except to sleep and shower so we wont pay the mod or deluxe prices. we didn't want that hospital like feeling that Pop rooms now seem to have so Sports it was.

Anyone have a favorite room location at ASSports?

We will be staying here this summer. I have a couple of questions. first how wide is the window I want to put a banner across for decoration?

Second does anyone have a picture of the shampoo and soap I was just wondering if I still need to bring those items with me or if there is enough for three people.

If you opt out for housekeeping how much is the gift card for and how do you get clean towels and what are you to do about your trash?

Window dimensions.

37 3/4" X 59"

$10 per night minus your 1st night. So for a 7 night stay, $60.

And how do you get clean towels and what are you to do about your trash?

Post #1 of this thread should help.

Can anyone tell me if you can purchase almond milk or another dairy free alternative in the convenience store area at ASSR to bring back to our room? I'd prefer to buy on site rather than order from Amazon with the $5 surcharge on receiving shipments. Thanks!

I think I am still going to get housekeeping.....everyone likes something different.

Same here. I'm getting housekeeping. I like coming back to freshly made beds and they usually doing something cute with my kids' stuffed animals. Thirteen nights, I am on vacation, it will be nice to have someone tidying up after us. Not worth the $10 ($15 with tip)/night. It's part of being on vacation for us.

I was there last week, they have the new dispensers on the wall in the tub with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Big bottles. I think it was the H2O stuff, I didn't really pay attention although I did use them and didn't die.

This is our first stay at Sports, looking for suggestions for items at the court. Favorite desserts? The pizzas look good. We have our favorites at POP, any not to miss items at Sports?

The voice of reason has spoken, and she's 11 years old. POP opened up for our dates in August with the FD package. I was ready to switch back, it would have cost a few hundred more, but I could justify that for a 13 night stay. I admit POP offers us familiarity and comfortability as we are creatures of habit. My daughter said she was excited to go to Sports after watching some YouTube videos. It was good to hear and we are going to stay excited for a new resort! 88 days

You will enjoy Sports. We stayed there last August for the first time and I was surprised how much we liked it. The only reason we are going back to POP this year is because we wanted to try out the new rooms. The Queen beds will be better for sleeping since my kids are 14 and 16 and both pretty tall. The full beds were fine when they were younger, but the Queen beds will give us a bit more space. However, even though the sleeping was a bit tight, we really enjoyed the resort. We had a great stay. No complaints. We had always stayed moderate, but then our last 2 stays were at Pop and then Sports and I don't think I'll ever go back moderate. I just can't justify spending the extra money. Have a great time

Thanks! This is true, the kids are still small enough (tho squirmy sleepers) to not be a big deal. They both play baseball/softball so they are really excited about the Homerun section, hopefully we get that. It's always encouraging to hear others' experiences.

Home Run Hotel is one of the best-themed sections of any WDW resort!:)

Also,HRH has its "own" Pool and Laundry.

The Grand Slam Pool is shaped like a Baseball infield with Goofy on the "pitcher's mound" and then there is a grass "outfield" behind the Pool.

There is Baseball theming EVERYWHERE!:)

Unfortunately,End Zone Food Court does not have as many "choices" as Everything POP,but there are still some good options.

Also,All-Star Music is right across the Parking Lot from HRH and All-Star Movies is a short walk from Music,so it is easy to check out all 3 Food Courts(Movies is the best-it has several dishes not offered at Music or Sports).

You should have an EXCELLENT chance of getting HRH if that is your only request.

If for some reason, nothing is available in HRH when you check-in,since you have a 13 day stay,I would ask them if anything would be opening up in the first day or 2 of your stay and then move to HRH then-it would take a little effort to move, but we have done this may times to get the room we want and feel it is worth the "hassle" of a room change.:)

I am so glad to see your dates are in August-The 15s will "take over" Sports in July and I would hate for that to be your first experience with Sports!lol:)

We got a little taste of the 15s when we were checking out of Pop at the end of June last year, and we were definitely glad to be heading out.

We always walked over to AOA from POP to check out their food court, so it's nice to know we have different options at the All Star Complex. We have a few resort days scheduled, so we can check them all out.

And The 15s will be "extra fired up" this July because of the World Cup!(If Brazil and Argentina were to somehow meet in the Finals WDW will cease to exist as we know it!lol:))

The All-Stars don't have anything close to the variety at Landscape of Flavors, but there are some good dishes-for example,Movies has a Spinach Artichoke Pasta that is good.:)

One advantage the All-Star Resort Food Courts(End Zone/Intermission/World Premiere) do have over Everything Pop and Landscape of Flavors is that their Beverage Islands are accessible 24/7.:)

IN THE food court can you get a beer as your drink on the dining plan?

I believe you can grab a beer/wine out of the coolers as your QS alcoholic beverage. I have read some people have done this at breakfast to put in their room fridge, but have also seen others say that they weren't allowed. So not sure about that. But for lunch and dinner, definitely.

We have a preferred room booked this weekend, which I believe are all in the surfs Up section. Has anyone stayed there recently and can you confirm if you had the small bottles of shampoo/conditioner or the wall dispensers? Were not checking luggage and don't want to bring these from home.

Touchdown! is also now Preferred.:)

Reports are they are in the process of adding Shower Dispensers.:)

Not sure if the project has been completed.:)
