Dvc annual meeting

We happen to be in Florida and are contemplating attending the DVC meeting this Thursday. This would be our first meeting. Should we take the time to attend?
 
I was unaware that I needed to make a reservation. How do I go about that? Do you suppose any availability so close to the meeting date?
 
The Annual Meeting for the Disney Vacation Club Condominium Association will take place December 13, 2018 at Walt Disney World. Members who wish to attend can RSVP for the meeting by signing on to DVCmember.com and completing a brief electronic form.

I have not attended, it sounds like many stopped going since they do not take question any more. So it really doesn't have any advantage as you just listen to what they plan to do to us during the next year. All that will be online in a day or so. But if you're close by, a stop in might be 'fun' to see how they pretend to listen to the owners.
 


I was there last year, the Contemporary Convention Center was filled. I thought they did have a Q & A, people went up to the mic.
 
Thanks for the correction Debbie, I was just going by the post on DVC news.
 
There was a rather large group last year at the Contemporary Convention Center and they did have microphones like DebbieB stated. This year it is located at Coronado Springs Convention Center and they are asking guests with cars to park at Blizzard Beach and be bused over to the Convention Center since most of the parking is filled with construction equipment/materials.

It's mostly a dog and pony show telling us how great they are and what they have coming plus a review of the upcoming annual fees. Last year they told us about the great perk of picking up our trash on a daily basis instead of just Trash & Towels day. Hah. There are cookies afterwards.
 
Once you mentioned cookies I was in. Haha. I did register for the meeting. There is only one way of satisfying my curiosity and that is by attending.

Don't believe that was mentioned at last year's meeting. The daily room inspections / trash removal were made public about 3 weeks after the DVC meeting. Procedure was implemented at Magic Kingdom resorts in late December and others in January 2018.

Last year someone on a Facebook group live streamed it. It was great as I’m in U.K. and watched the whole thing. It may still be posted somewhere. A few reports that came out immediately after were a little inaccurate so I was glad I watched the whole thing. In this day and age DVDMC should be live streaming this.

I’m hoping we will see what the SSR refurb looks like given they are starting it this month!

This would be great. I'm going to write to MS asking for it for next year. If they take questions, the chance to ask questions in a chat to be answered live would be good too.

Me, too. Disney streams lots of things,including DVD sales videos, so I see no good reason they can't stream the annual meeting this for Members.
