So what is the new method, or the link to the correct information on the changes? Other than getting called back sooner, what I saw did not look that much different?

The only changes is that some groups will only have a hour to return, and not 2.
Really? Sounds by the DIS article that Disney is changing it to: when you get your boarding group, you will also get an assigned return time. Similar to a fp return time. Then you're not waiting around all day wondering when you'll be called...

Nope. The change is when they call your to return it will tell you if you have one or two hours to return. It was originally two hours for everyone.

No, the sentence said "but guests will be given a distinct window of time of either one or two hours to return through the My Disney Experience app. "

Which means once your BG is called, it will say be back by a certain time, which will be either a hour from then or 2 hours

It's impossible to be given a time when you get your BG because each day is different when they reach a certain number

Disney hotel guests have one advantage- they don’t have to get up as early. :) I have a 60-70mn drive before I reach the parking lot...with these 7am openings that means leaving the house at 5:30am at the latest.

I beg to differ, you have a 60-70 minute drive to DHS, this Disney resort guest has 31 hours plus a border crossing. Advantage, you. 😂

(I get the point you’re making if that wasn’t obvious lol, but I couldnt resist)

That’s what I thought when I read the article too.

Anybody have a good idea of how long it takes to walk from the Beach Club to DHS?
It is approximately a 22 minute walk.:) You can beat the boat if there isn't a boat anywhere in sight. But if you see a boat at the dock or there is a boat at Boardwalk getting ready to head to the YC dock, then you will probably want to get on it. The boat ride is approximately 20 minutes, about the same as walking. The big difference is the wait time for the boat.
If we leave (boat or walking) by 6, assuming that has us in line around 6:20/6:30, is that enough time to be in the park so we can be settled for the 7am click-wars?
That should be plenty of time. :)

Quick question for IOS App usesrs. When you say “refresh the app” do you mean go back one screen and hit “find out more again”? Heading to WDW in 3 days!
Bump - to refresh do you men up swipe and kill the app or hit the “<“ to go back a page and then hit “Find out More”again ?

Snagged a room at AS Music. Should I uber from there? Whata a consensus on most hassle free way to get to the gate by 7?
Bus as long as you’re at the stop by 5:45 you should be fine. A little earlier wouldn’t hurt. For me it’s always the security lines that freak me out when on a clock.

anyone have any data on T-Mobile service/ issues? I am just concerned because when I try to look at fast passes here at home more than half the time I get the thinking ring for 40 sec or longer and about half of those time out with no info.

Eesh one minute after open for regular BGs to be full six out of the past eight days...
A little stressed about this whole BG gone in one minute business, but we'll see how it goes!!
That's pretty much how I felt until I realized that the backup BGs have been lasting for 45-60+ minutes after that. So, as long as you're in the park trying for a BG at park opening, you should have no issues. Even if you are a minute or two slower than everyone who got a regular BG, you should still have no issues being in one of the first backup BGs. Unless it's a really bad day, they've been getting to a fair number of backup BGs, so you're chances of riding are pretty high as long as you are in the park trying to get a BG as soon as they open up.

Curious if you were able to get any day-of FPs at HS as a single?

I didn’t try. I knew I had a pretty good chance with boarding group 34 that I would get called mid morning. Once I scanned into Star Tours I dropped my 10am HS FP and grabbed an afternoon spaceship earth.
