    The DisFort's Chit Chat Cafe

I heard about this on the radio on the way to work. Just terrible. And I know many of the DIS'ers come through that way to the Fort. j

    The DisFort's Chit Chat Cafe

That's good news, Kris. Hopefully things will work themselves out (literally) and she can get back to AL. I know the cruise isn't the priority, but you deserve some time for your (and Bert's) self. j

Tell me the "weather" where you live.

I think you may be getting some more this week T00dles. We will be getting rain, but north of here will be snow.

    The DisFort's Chit Chat Cafe

Found this article about a couple of buildings down the street. To bring all this full circle, we had been told that our elderly neighbor's father had built my house and the house next door (also built in 1902). "Clara", was very old when we moved in 28 years ago and died quite awhile back, but...

    The DisFort's Chit Chat Cafe

Started renovation on one of the last rooms in the house. This room has been our master bedroom for a long time. It was originally connected to a front bedroom by a single door between them. Each bedroom also had a door to the main hall/landing. When we bought the house, the door had been...

    The DisFort's Chit Chat Cafe

Thanks Ed! Many of us have become a sort of "family" through this great group. Ian certainly has grown up through this time frame. In the first pic with the red Miata, he was 15. He's 26 now. j

    The DisFort's Chit Chat Cafe

Ian did a thing this week. He announced a while back he wanted a new car. Not just a different car, but his first brand new car. His current car was a 2015 with only 73,000 miles on it. It was still in great shape, but he decided it was getting old. I laughed, but it's his money. He has a thing...

Any word or any prep work being done for new DVC cabins?

Doesn't really apply to us campers, but the cabin folks are finally getting a little more magic. Extra Evening Hours Extended to The Cabins at Fort Wilderness j

Has anyone stayed at Waco TX fairgrounds (Extraco event center) ?

My motorhome has a 75 gallon gray and that will only get me 5 days or so. I've never actually filled it completely, but I know that one is the limiting factor. 43 gallons would go quick. j

Has anyone stayed at Waco TX fairgrounds (Extraco event center) ?

What kind of camper do you have? While I couldn't take long shows in my old 5th wheels, if I used the water cutoff on the shower head between getting wet, lathering up and rinsing off, I could go at least 3 or 4 days. Probably longer, but I don't remember. My motorhome now has really large...

Any word or any prep work being done for new DVC cabins?

I'm guessing the description is for Hoop-Dee-Do, but Disney's web site doesn't describe Hoop as "buffet style". Family style dining in an all-you-care-to-eat style is the Hoop. The new TE is listed as "Quick Service" on the WDW site. It almost sounds like a mix of the old TE and Hoop-Dee-Do. We...

Are Regular Bicycles (non-ebikes) Allowed in Fort Wilderness

Definitely! One "rule" (although I don't know I have seen it enforced) is you need lights to ride at night and kids should have helmets (Florida law, I've been told). Also, bring a decent lock. While not common, there have been reports of bikes being "borrowed". j

    The DisFort's Chit Chat Cafe

Welcome back to the Midwest and our lovely weather. It was 25 this morning on the way to work. High in the 40s, but this looks like the last day in the 20s for a while. 65 tomorrow, so hopefully Ohio will warm up a bit too. Sounds like a nice trip to Ohio. Maybe not relaxing, but productive...

You are welcome to join us at Lake of the Ozarks April 19-21. Nothing fancy, but the place had pull throughs and full hookups. j

You need to get to it. Where are you headed. We are going to the lake in April. There is a campground right around the corner from my dad. Middle of April is about the earliest you can de-winterize and feel safe it won't freeze again.

Getting around FW to the parks with wheelchair

All Disney transportation is wheelchair/scooter friendly. From the Fort, MK will be easiest on the boat. You can literally roll right on and off. AK, HS and EPCOT will be best with the bus from the Settlement. The busses are a bit more with the ramps. If you have a golf cart, that will help with...
