Wow those room prices at WDW!!!

Right. We bought almost 30 years ago because we wanted to be on the hook to take some time off from our pressure filled jobs. People told us we'd be sorry. And we never have been. BEST PURCHASE EVER.

Wow those room prices at WDW!!!

So where do you stay, and how much do you consider a reasonable amount? For us, it has just been so much easier for the past 28 years to just spend our points on our annual trips.

I hate iPhone. My son switched to the iPhone and I have no idea how to navigate that thing.

Wow those room prices at WDW!!!

We were roped into a timeshare spiel at the Sheraton Vistana Village and all I told the person when they showed us the price, no thanks I will just buy more DVC points! Their rooms were not appealing st all.

I know! I have become completely disconnected from the WDW room prices over the years.

Wow those room prices at WDW!!!

I had some expiring stray points so I nabbed what I could find, a Kidani savanna studio for this month. I gifted it to my BFF who lives in Florida. They have been planning their trip and she looked up the price of what it would be if they paid cash: $745 a night!!!!! Glad I bought DVC in '96!

There's no magic at other timeshares....

We were on their timeshare visit. They just showed us some pictures of rooms in a book of resorts around the country. It is a points system so we already understood the concept. The saleswoman said that even if we bought there, she wouldn't expect us to stay there as it wasn't that great. The...

I also really liked the SSR renovation. It was more neutral in color but lots of mice touches. And we were really wowed by the Riveria 1 bedroom. Felt very luxe to us. But I still miss the peach towels at OKW!

For that much money, I expect them to provide some magic.

There's no magic at other timeshares....

They do No counter space though so hard to use. They also did not show us any bigger rooms. When I said I didn't care for the rooms? She said, "well I would never expect you to stay here. It's not that nice." Who plunks down 20 grand and a lifetime commitment of dues without having a good...

There's no magic at other timeshares....

Yes this is where we are staying. I will say the timeshare presentation was pretty good. But we never buy on the spot. Disney let us come back after touring more properties, and that is when we bought.

There's no magic at other timeshares....

The 1 bedroom unit we are in has a sleeper sofa but no chairs. It is not very conducive to hanging out. Zero counter space. The kitchen is too small to cook a meal in. 2 burner stove. The resort doesn't have a real restaurant, just a counter service thing. I mean.... what's to love here. The...

There's no magic at other timeshares....

We are staying at one of the other big timeshares in Orlando right now. The grounds have nice landscaping and the main pool is lovely, but there's just nothing else all thaIt great about it. It's a totally forgettable place. I am surprised they can get anybody to buy in to these generic places...

    Ft. Wilderness Cabins becoming DVC?

So are these cabins going to be brand new, or just the sames ones there now? And have they said how many cabins there will be?

I finally get why people walk reservations. Disappointed.

Once upon a time, when we joined back in 1996, holidays were blocked out and by lottery system only. I would never ever expect Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's studios to be easily available, even 11 months out.

Getting very tired of resale brokers who feel like ghosting is OK. Marking them off my list one by one.

I think you are being unrealistic. You can make any offer you like, but no one has to reply if they feel you are going to be under what

In today's world, anything but yes is no. Their nonresponse is no, especially when deluged by emails. This is very true if you are applying for jobs. You may get an automated response that they received your materials, but you will almost never hear that you were not selected.

The broker gets to make the choice. Just like you are crossing off certain brokers off your list, brokers are crossing certain sellers off their list.
