Why did so many people here join in the early to mid 2000's?

I have no idea why I joined or how I found this board. I guess once I post I’ll be able to see the when part of when i joined at least!

    Lego Disney 100 minifigures swap?

No, I’m all done. I had some good luck swapping on different Lego FB pages though if you’re open to that. Good luck!

    If You Shop at Goodwill…

i do really well at TJMaxx and Marshall’s for my family‘s regular clothes too and its Just easier than thrifting. The Salvation Army is my go to for my boys when they need suits! They’re usually barely worn and much cheaper than new. We get clothes for Halloween costumes there too.

    Lego Disney 100 minifigures swap?

That’s a good tip! For this series, in my area anyway, I can only order them online though. But maybe if the upc thing works (I’ll check the ones I just got), I can return them to a brick and mortar before I open them If its a duplicate.

    Lego Disney 100 minifigures swap?

Thank you. I did see it was pretty dead over there. I was hoping since there had been a Lego thread over here in the last year maybe I’d catch some people 😊

    Lego Disney 100 minifigures swap?

I’m not sure if this is against the rules (I think people did this with sorcerers of the kingdom cards?) if it is I’ll delete. I’ve been buying Lego Disney 100 minifigure blind bags and I’ve got duplicates of course. Is anyone in a similar boat and want to do an even trade? I have an extra...

Question if this is offensive in Italy/Greece/Turkey

Hello! I was excited to find a small, baggallini backpack at TJMaxx today for $30. It’s exactly what I was looking for our trip this summer to Italy and a Mediterranean cruise. While not the pattern I would pick if given all the options, for $30 I don’t hate it. However, my mom kind of freaked...

Gift ideas 12 year old boy

Can you ask the parents or a sibling? Any idea if they like legos, Marvel/DC, movies, video games, anime? 12 is a hard age if you don’t know any interests. My 12 year old boy just wants a gift card or cash so he was no help :headache:

How does your company handle raises?

We are working on raising our base pay (which is ridiculously low compared to other agencies doing similar work) which means everyone already at our agency gets a raise when we do that. In July, since we hadn’t had raises in almost 3 years, we were able to do raises and tiered them 10%, 7.5%...

Christmas Cookie recipe exchange , Post your favorite recipes and find some new ones

The taste of the butter comes across more (in a good way!) is the only way I can explain it. Richer maybe? 2% fat makes a difference apparently! Thanks for the info!

    Thoughts on Office Gift Exchange

We do a white elephant and a secret Santa exchange. White elephant for us is you choose something you don’t want anymore from your house (the more ridiculous the better) and wrap it up nicely and bring it to the Christmas lunch. We put a number on each gift and then randomly hand out numbers...

These are my go to chocolate chip cookies. I never knew Irish butter made such a difference until someone recommended it for this recipe! http://goatberrykitchen.com/2016/03/24/chewy-chocolate-chip-cookies-the-best-2/

What do you give out for Halloween?

DH works at a gum factory so we hand out packs of gum. The company does a great sale for employees right before Halloween which is nice 😊 Kids love it.

It’s been a long, dry spell, walk me thru cruise boarding now

Since COVID tests for travel are not covered by (many) insurances anymore, we did On Point telehealth proctoring and used the free government tests so it only cost us $14.99/person vs the $100+ a person at Walgreens/CVS. I was nervous about doing the On Point but it worked out really well...

Where do you want to retire? Migrate to?

I think this what we are leaning toward. However, I am one who wants to be close to my kiddos (and grandkids) so we will see where they land (only 12 and 15 now so I’ve got a bit of time).

    slo’s SATURDAY poll - Grapes

We love grapes around here and I used to buy them weekly but lately they’ve been very expensive ($2.99/lb) so I haven’t bought them for probably a month or so. Hoping the price will drop soon. I prefer red but all the rest are fine as long as they’re seedless.

Need a Romantic series to watch (not romantic comedy)....any suggestions?

North and South with Richard Armitage and the 1995 Pride and Prejudice if you haven’t already seen them are both great 😊

    Passport renewal for kids

yes, for kids you have to apply like it’s brand new. In our area, we have to make an appointment with the post office, no walk-ins. We just redid our younger son’s passport and we got it back very quickly (1 month). I’ve heard it depends on what state you’re in though. Some are taking much longer.
