San Fran to LA itinerary via Pacific Coast Highway - July 2020

Doable but you will feel rushed at the aquarium. It's an all-day place. Also, you'll want to get out and take in the PCH however. Point Lobos is exceptionally wonderful.

Yosemite Lodging Problems - Curry Village tents or outside park or ??

Yosemite is one of those places you can backpack in for weeks or stay for three days and be content. I would not be worried about the bears. It's well "policed" but please do adhere to the policy and put anything edible or scented (including candy and toothpaste, deodorant and lotions in the...

    San Diego

What do you like to eat and will you have a car? The Zoo - neighborhoods of North Park and Hillcrest have tons of great dining options Balboa Park - same as zoo but Panama 66 is very good and located in the sculpture garden of the art museim. Old Town - actually has the best sushi in town at...

San Diego or Las Vegas to Anaheim?

I hate Vegas and live in San Diego but actually you might be interested in Red Rocks in Las Vegas. Red Rock Resort is off the Strip and a lovely spa/hotel/casino and it is also near some wonderful hiking at Red Rock Canyon. It's truly a magical place and never crowded. When my friends drag me to...

New SWGE Superthread! Now Open to All! (6/24/2019)

Actually, the opposite. Advance reservations were booked when I went spur of the moment in August but when I logged in at 7AMish on the bus from the parking garage to DL I had my pick of times for both Oga's and Savi's. I think a VERY small percentage is actually available for the advance...

New SWGE Superthread! Now Open to All! (6/24/2019)

You can make reservations day of on the Disney website for Oga's. They open at 7 AM and require a credit card deposit. Check in 15-minutes before your reservation time. Single Rider is the way to go if on Smuggler's Run.

Options for transport from DLR to San Diego

The train is easy and will put you close to your hotel. It's a nice train ride as well once you cut over to the coast. Driving might be cheaper - Sixt has nice one-way rentals and really nice cars. I'd also check the TeslaLoop which has the car driving on autopilot if you are not comfortable...

    San Diego

You could conceivably do Pt. Loma/Cabrillo Monument on your Seaworld Day, just time it for sunset and you get a bonus sunset view from one of the best views in town. My money is on the Zoo. I live across the street from the zoo and visit at least twice a week even if it is to just go jogging...

    Restaurant Recommendations (SF/LA/Anaheim/SD)

Not sure where OP is from, but BBQ is not our strong suit. If you are craving BBQ I'd send you to Grand Ole BBQ which is Central Texas style and can hold its own against the best in Texas. Damn fine BBQ. I find Phil's to be overly sweet and lacking that bark you get in good BBQ. But everyone has...

First timer for one day visit

Be sure to visit Galaxy's Edge after sunset. It's a different place. Later in the day also tends to show smaller wait times.

    Yes, Glendora. My mistake.

    Restaurant Recommendations (SF/LA/Anaheim/SD)

My questions: - Where to get really good ice cream - Humphry Slocombe (SF) and Salt and Straw (Downtown Disney, also Little Italy in San Diego) - Lower-priced/quick food recommendations - ethnic places are always good for this. - Best sweets/baked goods/donuts - Tartine (SF), people like Donut...

New SWGE Superthread! Now Open to All! (6/24/2019)

A good position for this is adult as the Engineer, child as the Gunner. Engineer can easily reach over and help the gunner and can assist with adult duties as needed.

Gunner. Let it default to "auto mode" and have him enjoy the ride. You want right pilot. Pulling that hyperspace handle gave me the feels.

So, it's the BIG DAY. AP blackouts lifted! And...

My son has completed all of his summer tasks and earned a trip to DL. Begging me to go this week before school starts. Thinking of driving up Thursday morning for the day. I like these wait times but I know they won't hold with D23 crowds. I'll set my expectations low so I can be (hopefully)...

    D23 EXPO 2019 Superthread - dates announced!

Super 7 made some of the best Star Wars popculture mash up t-shirts before they lost their license. They had an M.C. Escher Ep. IV Death Star Scene t-shirt, an awesome Millennium Falcon calligram that I actually turned into a tattoo, and Tauntaun butcher cut diagram, and more... I miss their...
